Also it seems that with Josh threatening by saying other crypto companies are going down - that clearly means if Josh goes down - he will take everyone with him.  Snitch.

Are you saying that he may have knowledge about improprieties regarding other large companies in the industry?

Also, take a look at this comment on Josh's "A small update"  Thread https://hashtalk.org/topic/30213/small-update/29    The guy is almost begging for his/her bitcoins and paycoins which are missing.  Unbelievable.  It's like a cult over there.   "Please sir can I have my coins back"

My latest theory is that hashtalk consists of paid shills, a couple idiots and the rest are on disability, they don't value their money because they have a lifetime monthly paycheck

I think that comment reveals more about your personal prejudice than it does about anybody over at the hashtalk forum.

This user seems to thing the ability to login is more important than all their BTC disappearing!

This guy writes like a poor William Shakespeare wannabe!

Here's a critique of that ridiculous post by the great man himself:

"Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

William Shakespeare - Act 5, Scene 5, The Scottish Play.

Fortunately the notion of "country club" prisons for white collar criminals is largely a myth. Some prisons are less bad than others though.

Especially in the United States,  your penal system seems to be much harsher than in the UK. Over here our white collar criminals would probably be sent to what is called a category C prison, which is basically an open prison for non violent offenders. That's if they don't buy their way out of the charges using slick legal teams.

What is worrying is not the amount of scams all around but more the willingness of a lot of people to act in a very destructive way.
The lesson learned can be continued

What the hell are you talking about?  These scammers are getting away with this time after time without as much as a bruised finger.  Mark Karpeles is even back on reddit and twitter for fucks sake. Somebody even tipped him some bitcoin a couple of months ago without knowing who he was.  I wonder which tropical beverage Ryan Kennedy (Moolah scammer) was enjoying last night? Or which fancy sports car the former Neo & Bee CEO Danny Brewster was driving yesterday?

I think you will find that a bunch of nerds hanging around posting nasty comments in Internet forums on a Friday night are the least likely to be committing violent crimes.  Although I don't condone some of the comments made last night the anger felt by the posters are totally understandable.

No doubt within a few months we can add Josh Garza to the list of scammers who have totally fucked over the crypto community and drove off into the sunset.

I have just had a PM from an Alpha customer who has just won a claim. Alpha's defence was STRUCK OUT and a judgement was issued against them. Alpha literally have NO DEFENCE. They have and will pay claims won against them. You can do some pretty heinous shit to a company once you have a judgement, including freezing bank accounts, summoning them to court to reveal their assets and making them bankrupt.

You can also raise the debt with the high court if they don't pay up (It costs around £60 to do this).  Once high court enforcement officers are involved they don't mess about.  When they turn up they won't be leaving without the money owed - even if they have to strip the place bare of assets.

If that is the case it is a shame, because kids are notorious for doing dumb things (and excessive arrogance), and it looks like there are going to be significant consequences for this.

the alleged hacker is a high school kid.

The problem with black hat people is they are usually misguided script kiddies who lack discipline.

Lastly, they are usually loudmouths who boast about committing crimes

+100 ... I'd sure hate to be that kid right now/today... (or tomorrow - if it's true, he's about to become famous in a very bad way)... then the shit about his mom & welfare? wtf... i didn't even read it.. stupid skids indeed).

Am I missing something here?  What evidence is there that this person is the actual hacker?  Can somebody point it out?

Bitcoins : Is it worth investing at this late stage?
by

on 18/01/2014, 17:53:58 UTC
I have been having a chat with my Dad about whether it is worth investing in five or ten bitcoins in the hope that their value may go even higher in the next 2 years. Can you guys give a quick opinion about where you see the value of Bitcoins in 2 years from now. Have they reached their peak or is there still a long way up from here? Your opinions would be appreciated.
