It is possible to use both Nvidia and AMD cards simultaneously.
For AMD cards, changing RAM timing with atiflash has a major role in GPU tuning.
Afterburner setting is also possible, but it has a little effect and you could ignore afterburner if it makes some problems.
Go mining with 580.
Will there be any issues like system crash/performance issue while using AMD and NVIDIA card on the same machine?
I have build a mining rig for a few friends and they have 5 cards , 4 RX 4xx/5xx series and 1 GTX 1070 from Nvidia. I have build them these cards in a ASROCK H81 PRO BTC and they are mining with Nicehash since early march. No problems reported. It doesn't depend on the motherboard though, even a Gigabyte ,MSI or ASUS motherboard will support both cards without problems.
If you are having trouble installing both, here is my suggestion which will solve all problems for you.
1. Download latest drivers for Nvidia and ATI cards
2. Download DDU display driver uninstaller,
3. Uninstall drivers completely with DDU
4. Restart and install both drivers, you should be up and fine to mine whatever coin you like.
Thanks for that info. I am mining on a old PC that I was using earlier for studying Virtualization, Server Management etc.
I have below rig, please suggest whether MSI RX 580 is going to work for me:
