Looks like Mining-Dutch is shutting down it's VGC pool.  Anyone know of any other VGC mining pools?  I know the coin is essentially dead, but I am now curious as to how many I can accumulate before it shuts down for good.  I can always solo mine it, but frankly a pool is more interesting.

Thank you.
I've been mining BOB in CoinStop for the last couple of days, and while it seems to be okay, I've noticed that I seem to be merge-mining and then being paid in BOB.  I prefer that my hashes to directly to the network, and NoSuchPool seems to fit the bill.

Yea mahn.. they FORKED HARD.. went like 1 GH/s and ran away with a couple thousand blocks.
When the dust settled, and I don't pretend to understand the Luck Plane,
but seems the shorter fork won out..

Damnit!  Mining-Dutch pulled the plug on DobbsCoin where I've been mining it for the last couple of years.
Any suggestions on which pool to mine in?

Party ON!!

Thanx for offering this service.

I've been exchanging BOB for SLACK for the last couple of days without any problems, however I now have two withdrawals to my SLACK wallet marked as "Processing" for the last 24 hours.
This is odd as I have made withdrawals from my SLACK account for similar amounts without problem.  I am certain that the wallet receiving address is correct.
Any insight into what could be the problem would be helpful.
Regards.

Okay I know that this coin is very likely long-dead, but if anyone could post a working addnode I would greatly appreciate it.
I enjoy collecting quasi-defunct coins and would like to sync up a wallet and maybe collect a couple of coins in the process.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!

If you've had some trouble getting econocalypse to build from source on Ubuntu Server 18.04.2, these steps worked for me.  I can confirm that the qt wallet works under Xubuntu 18.04.2 in a virtual box using these steps.  This may work for Debian 9.7 or 9.8, Ubuntu Server 18.10, and any of the gui flavors of Ubuntu 18.04.2 or 18.10.  At this time they do not work with Ubuntu 19.04.  Use at your own risk.

This worked like a charm for me with Ubuntu Mate 16.04 & 18.04.  thank you!

Okay, I installed Debian 9.8 into a VirtualBox VM and with a little tinkering the qt linux wallet is running. Something about Ubuntu that the wallet doesn't like.

We'll see how it does.  I've mined three blocks running the Windows wallet using PlayOnLinux on a 5 year-old Dell i7 laptop, so I can't complain.

BTW... any chance of a ARM Raspberry pi friendly version in the future?  You could make an image with a working wallet installed, so that people could literally flash their microSD card, boot the Pi and start mining immediately.

Anybody been able to successfully run the linux-qt wallet?  If so, what distro and version are you using?

I've tried it on three different machines running Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 & 18.10 and all have problems with libboost libraries.  The all of the machines run other wallets (like bitcoin, litecoin and the original Dobbscoin) just fine.
The installed libboost libraries are 1.6.5 and 1.6.7 but Dobbscoin 2.0 is demanding 1.6.2.

i installed the requested 1.6.2 libraries on one machine, but it did not solve the problem.

You building your own or using the pre-compiled?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm let's seeee.
Distributor ID: Debian
Description:    Debian GNU/Linux 9.8 (stretch)
Release:        9.8
Codename:       stretch

Using: dpkg -s libboost-dev | grep 'Version'
Version: 1.62.0.1

Didn't realize I had old libboost, just followed the spitup from
How do I compile a wallet for Windows?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5122755.msg50263855#msg50263855

and from How do I compile a daemon for linux?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5122755.msg50260944#msg50260944

Is shit not backwards compatible in the libboost-world?
I'll upgrade if i can and see..

Mostly tried the pre-compiled, although I tried the build on the 18.04 machine without any success.

If I get a chance, I'll try Debian 9.8 in VirtualBox.

While using the Google, I found that this issue is fairly common for Linux crypto wallets.  None of the suggested fixes have worked yet

I'll keep at it, as I want to support the project. I'm still mining BOB on Mining-Dutch.nl  (with an AntRouter R-1 woohoo) where, believe it or not, it seems to have come back from the dead.

i cant seem to get the image link to dopwnload

Hmm, I just downloaded it directly via Firefox on an Ubuntu 16.04 box to test the link.  Have you tried using the torrent link?  I find that the torrents are usually more reliable.

The Raspycoin image is now on Google drive.  Use the direct download link below to download it.

RaspyCoin .img now available for download at archive.org

https://archive.org/details/RaspyCoin

The RaspyCoin wallet and necessary dependencies are pre-installed on copy of Raspbian Stretch 11-13-2018.

Simply burn the .img to a micro sd card like you would with any Raspberry image, put it in your Pi and boot.

The image will resize itself to the size of your card automatically.

Follow the simple instructions on the desktop, and you'll be mining within minutes.

I would love to do everything according to the instructions, but I didn't understand how to do anything, my translator is terrible. I'll just fine-tune the cooling on my RASPI and put it on production)

I'm hoping to put together a Raspbian image with the RaspyCoin software pre-installed.  All you would have to to then is flash a sd card and put it in your pi.
Hopefully i'll have something by the end of the week.

Sent out the first million Raspy to some lucky miner who sent me one Raspy following the instructions above.

I still have 999,000,000 to give away.

The current difficulty is 0.00040188, so this shouldn't take long...

i have about 10 pis so defo gonna have a look at this there running of solar power so electric is also free for me to run them Smiley

Very cool.  Would love to know more about how your solar setup works. The really ugly thing about crypto-mining is how much power it uses.
I have a few ASIC's and the amount of power they can use is breathtaking.  One more reason I became interested in mining on the Pi.

Let's make this interesting...
by
dobbstowncr
on 30/11/2018, 02:55:28 UTC
I've been mining and testing Raspy for about three months now, and in the process have accumulated around one billion Raspycoin.

In order encourage a bit of mining, I'm going to give away my billion Raspycoin in one million coin increments to the first one thousand people who mine one Raspy and send it me.

So here's the fine print...

Turn 1 Raspy into 1,000,000!

The First Virtual Bank of Raspy is giving away ONE BILLION Raspy's in ONE MILLION Raspy increments to  the first  thousand people who deposit one Raspy.

So how do you get your MILLION Raspy's?

*   Obtain one Raspy (preferably by mining it)

*    Request your ONE MILLION Raspy’s by sending your Raspycoin wallet’s receiving
address to the First Virtual Bank of Raspy at: raspy.coin@gmail.com

*    The First Virtual Bank of Raspy will reply by sending you a receiving address

*    Send one Raspy to the receiving address sent by the First Virtual Bank of Raspy

*    Upon receiving your Raspy, the First Virtual Bank of Raspy will send ONE
MILLION Raspy’s to the receiving address you provided

This offer is limited to the first one thousand requests, so act today!
One request per person, please.  Multiple requests will not be honored.

Esta usando Raspbian o Linario en un Raspberry Pi o Tinkerboard?  El billetera unicamente sirve con las computadoras como ellas.
