Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.6.1 (Linux / Windows)

very buggy release. i am using hiveos. dstm 0.6.1.

1. gtx1080ti has hashrate around 200 sols
2. ping problem (already reported here before)

Same problem here... With gtx 1060, dstm 0.6.0 i get ~300 sol/s. Now with dstm 0.6.1 i get around 200 sol/s .
Whats wrong?

yes i can confirm that.

are those AMD machines ? i have the same effect on 2 other of these cheap AMD machines, but on the modern intel machine with gigabyte D3A H110 it has no issues and the 0.6.1 performs slightly better.

this is with 0.6 (and its even warm).

as inquired the cpu usage of 0.6 and 0.6.1 related to above findings.
0.6.1 has higher peaks ie i see it peak to up to 50% cpu usage at least using "top".

So now where do mine now and why?

im back at suprnova which i use for ages on equihash without ever having issues. when i started with rvn suprnova wasnt there yet or still building up so i hopped through some of the pools. li later stayed with 3i cause it was seemingly working.

besides the great uptime track record supr has OCminer is a knowledgeable guy that can solve issues himself understands problems (see verge) and gets also to coding or rebuilding. (see suprminer, a ccminer derivate which respects the parent oss licenses)

its big, it works and you can flexible set payout thersholds. the probability such a large pool would try to "steal" shares is imho very low. reported differences in hash rates or payouts are imho monitored over a too short period.

What have been asked, is that you send RVN coins to another adress, with a private signed message, and let the network decide if you have the coins or not. Since the blockchain is the trustee and not YOU, if the blockchain consensus is that you don't have enough coins ( that you say you do ) in your wallet, then the transaction gets rejected, thus proving that you never had the coins in the first place.

...

this is the thing, you refuse to listen and insist on keeping to just complain and say you didn't get paid, while me and many others give you the tools to prove you should be paid. You refuse to take action for your own coins that you say you are owned. So far i have seen 2-3 complain they didn't get the coin, but the discord if full of people getting EXACTLY the coins they are owned. so i guess the 95% must be wrong.

if you can't prove you are owned those coins, you don't. You are responsible for your own actions and proof against the blockchain, sorry to break it to you, but you are really in the wrong space if you can't handle your own security.

explain me how you think the raven blockchain is involved cause i think one of us doesnt gets it.
especially this part:
" you send RVN coins to another adress, with a private signed message, and let the network decide if you have the coins or not. Since the blockchain is the trustee and not YOU, if the blockchain consensus is that you don't have enough coins ( that you say you do ) in your wallet, then the transaction gets rejected"

i dont send coins. i send work shares.

You send work shares to the pool, the pool is on the network as 1 "miner." As soon as a block is found, the pool splits up he payment among workers depending on type of share payment  (PPS, PPLNS). a block is every minute so you should have coins every minute. Every x Raven you get paid from the pool . The coins are immature untill the network confirmed the coins, as soon as the coins are mature ( confirmed ) they are send to the payment adress you provided. As soon as the coins are mature, they are yours.

As soon as the coins are mature, they are written to YOUR wallet, thus are transparent en for everyone to see on the blockchain. Sending coins over with a private message attached to it, triggers the network to make the transaction, if you don't have any "mature" coins in your wallet, the transaction gets refused and that's the end of it. All the info is there, you just need to proof if you actually own the coins, or that there was a misinformation on the pool, how much you actually are owned.

i'm really not trying to be a dick here, but i am really harsh on the reality. If you don't have proof it's gonna be on you to take the loss and learn from it. there is no holding hands in crypto, you are responsible for every step of the way, without any failsafes, unless you buil them into your security measurements. There is no bank that will retrieve your money if you make a mistake. i make daily backups of my wallet, i check my mining stability multiple times a day, i have my private keys dogtagged, and i have a hardware wallet. and as soon as i see ANYTHING wrong, i instantly move away from the problem at hand. Don't just sit there and expect it to work out in the end, because that is when you get burned.

thanks for the productive take on it and explaination. parts in the middle paragraph were actually unclear to me, so all in all it was worth it.

yes i could follow up on this but as said earlier its peanuts really as i moved away from 3i after ~12 hours. im disgrunted as the first statements suggested that the pool would take care of it once the dev is back from holiday and BigZim got time again cause the family drama that occured. this and the lack of communication is just bad style and anoying in principle. would i warn others that there were issues ? yes as there undoubtly were. is it a big thing. no.

Regarding other precautions: yes that pretty much mirrors what im doing too so no surprises there.

in any way thanks for the productive shift of the discussion. cheers from ger.

chill, dude. youre hilarious.

ppl already tried to contact him

More problems with threeyed and people are still in it? is this for real? I can't believe how stup** people can be, obviously they can. No wonder RVN value goes down every day.

BigZim keep stealing from them!!! when they don't learn once, do it again and again and again, they won't learn ever! keep it up, you'll make a lot of money through Ravencoin project. Funny, but I support you know LOL.

PROVE IT or STOP the Slander!

BigZim closed the mining pool days ago. Paid everyone what they were due. He is/has been on discord looking up everyone's account, one by one, that claimed they were shorted. Turns out that BigZim did all that could be done, stole nothing, helped everyone.

So before you slander him - prove it.

http://mine.threeeyed.info/workers/RN3yyFxxWeSzeT3FtDLsKSAmY32MvT142d

Unpaid.  I accuse no one of theft.  I am owed RVN by 3i.

Sign a message using private key to that account. Send it to BigZim and see what happens.

Thanks.  I’m not concerned about the 4 bucks but the statement was made that BigZim paid everyone out. I was not paid out.  It is a small amount but I’m not going on discord or sending him a signed message.  He should just pay it it is obviously in the database.  And that pool should never have been listed on the original ANN as a “community supported” pool.

I’m only writing it here because people should know that the right thing was *not* done.   Maybe it was attempted but not accomplished. So if there is a future pool run by BigZim people can make their own judgment.

Totally agree. I'm also missing around 400 RVN from threeeyed http://mine.threeeyed.info/workers/RWxkpjFa8SAAMeK1L2ZaWj8zXxmnDqcGzq
I'm not on discord and not planing to sign in.

Threeeyed was listed here as an official community pool

same. its not much (but much is relative since you plan in future value not current value) so ive cut my lossses and moved on but its a thing of principle.
especially since he (bigzim) removed the evidence hes asking for by nullifying the matured data and than asks for a "proof". laughable.
whats more embarassing are community members here attacking people that had losses. but with this mindset they have their share of probs in the world and at work. so, whatever.

I got this on 4 rigas with nevermore-brian112358-v0.2.2 with XR16. What this can be ?

============ Starting Miner ===============
*** nevermore 0.2.2 for nVidia GPUs by brian112358@github bin run sbin Built with the nVidia CUDA Toolkit 8.0 64-bits
Originally based on Christian Buchner and Christian H. project

[2018-04-06 19:45:47] Starting on stratum tcp://stratum.threeeyed.info:3331
[2018-04-06 19:45:47] NVML GPU monitoring enabled.
[2018-04-06 19:45:47] 5 miner threads started, using 'x16r' algorithm.
/root/xminer.sh: line 69: 16587 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS
Miner ended/crashed. Restarting miner in 10 seconds --------------

Running 980Ti's by chance? I get the same issue on a 980Ti rig... Enemy however does work...

got the same issue (i reported some pages back already) with all rigs. 1050ti´s, 1060´s, 1070(ti)´s, 1080(ti)´s. all no difference.
enemy miner works.
nevermore, suprminer or tpruvot-v2.2.5 dont.

literally same command line (all these miners are ccminer derivates) just copied over. same error as you posted above. for RVN only enemy works. everything else (RVN x16r Nvidia) crashes with /root/xminer.sh: line 69: 16587 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS

What did i tried:
  • I entered the complete command line manually.
I analyzed in HEX the ascii codes, iE that the spaces are spaces (ascii 32)
i copied the exact enemy line to nevermore (its identical as both are ccminer derivates)
i copied the exacty suprminer 1.6 line which works under windows without issue to SmOS : error as above.
I created a NEW usb stick with SmOS
i checked if there is enough room on the USB stick (it is)
    i turned off any overclocking
restarted the rigs after switching from enemy instead just reloading the miner.
i tried ravencoin mining using ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s-cuda8.0 and suprminer after they got added. It leads to the same error as with nevermore. But the same config works for enemy.

anyway i sent the report in this morning (CET) to admin@simplemining.net including acc+rigID´s.

hope they can find out why it affects some pps while others dont have any issue.

thanks to Tytanick and Mirelle we could figure it out today.
The fix was to add the -t behind. iE in my case using suprnova:

-a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u name.$rigName -p x -i 19 -t 5

[please note in case you missed this: these issues were in case enemy was working but nevermore, ccminer and suprminer were crashing. these are nvidia miners]

Funny enough under windows i didnt had to use -t

For some reason this fix didn't work for me. I still get the same error on both nevermore and suprminer. Like others I was only able to get enemy to work for RVN, but no update to enemy yet to allow x16s.  Cry
Here is the code that I am using.
-a x16s -o stratum+tcp://pign.suprnova.cc:4096 -u decreped -p x -t 6
Any ideas?

unfortunately i can confirm that not all systems get "fixed" by this. (suprminer determines on most systems the threads required automatically (iE amount of GPU´s installed. in case it has issues doing so the -t is "fixing" it. maybe its related to weather theres an onboard graphics installed and the way its turned off/inactive) the -t parameter worked great for two rigs and i could switch them from enemy to suprminer after initially having thosde crashes. however one rig which is incomplete and thus work in progress (only 2 cards installed yet) is still crashing. even with -t. (tried also specifying devices etc)

this is how its invoked for the rig that is still crashing (the 2 card one that is incomplete).

to exclude any smos ui specific issues i went directly to the smos command line and invoked from there. the general command line is as follows for the 2 card rig

Code:
miner@simpleminer:/root/miner_org/suprminer-ocminer-v1.6$ ./ccminer -t 2 -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u dodgertc.$rigName -p x

in addition i started it with -D debug parameter to see if i get a bit more information about whats going on. this is what it gives:

miner@simpleminer:/root/miner_org/suprminer-ocminer-v1.6$

i may look to see how suprminer was compiled (what flags). as the system which is work in progress features an old pcie system built around some amd low power cpu (i use 1to4 adapters to attach up to 5 miners to it. I have multiple of these low-roi systems which dont give any issues otherwise). maybe it was compiled with some unsupported flags.

in any case it doesnt looks like it would be an smOS related issue.

ThreeEyed - SCAM. BigZim(ThreeEyed) -I have stolen from me more than 200 coins.
On April 6 at me on balance was 200+ of coins, then they were gone.
Today I haven't received them.
BigZim I have written to me "there are no coins
if you didnt get any coins you didnt have any shares".
This fraud.
This problem not at me one, some people haven't received the coins too,
they write in Discord. I have screenshots.

Yes - he has probably sold them and bought.... a box of tissues. and get $3 change.
You must call the police tonight.

Tell them BigZim with three eyes has stolen US$7.40+ in RavenCoins
There will be 5000 others that will have a similar story and they are all around the world I'll get them to call you.

is that some stockholm syndrome at work ? why would you defend bigzim over a fellow miner when its clear that hes not throwing accusations but multiple miners can confirm that there were no payouts.
the amount per person does not matter. belitteling and patronizing fellow miners after your own issue was apparently fixed is supporting a bad actor. especially after big zim originally gave a statement that all pay outs would be processed:
Code:
BigZim(ThreeEyed) - Today at 10:22 AM
Everyone will get their coins
Everyone is allowed to be upset.
But the people screaming scam will be eating their words.
(thats the discord you forwarded here)

the amounts you belittle dont matter by the way. for one the loss is experienced by ppl differently (personal situations) and for the other 3ied was a payed (1%) service. its not for you to decide what is a valid claim and what not.
Completely amateurish handling of the situation (no banner or info on the site, no contact information, admin "away in some discord" instead immediately clarifying for everyone what happened, when will it be fixed etc like it should be.
I dont see any reason to cut him some slack here nor any indication that this was not a scam.

i can confirm that only a laughable part of the pay outs was received.
http://threeeyed.info/workers/RD2LLXkUNweH9q3aW9s5VAh4Jfktbd9PXx
221 were matured before it got changed to 0 and no pay outs occured.

0.06189956 rvn were payed out so far from 3i since the issue started (lol) which is close enough to nothing.

I still didn't get RVN runing on my RX580, 8Gb rig....

I try to use
Code:
-k x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u user.worker -p workerpass

Then I get this errors... I couldn't copy all text because of SM refresh times but....

Then I see dodgertc post and I try Syntax

sorry, the syntax i posted is for nvidia ccminer derivates. (nevermore, suprminer).

sgminer that you are using has another syntax.

I got this on 4 rigas with nevermore-brian112358-v0.2.2 with XR16. What this can be ?

I lost over 1.000 RVN on threeeyed pool. where tf are those coins?Huh
Mature went to 0 and all lost, wallet doesn't show those coins. Nice SCAM, and they call it official pool, then pay back lost coins.
This is SCAM coin people. just waste of time and money with these scammers.
Of course if you tell the truth, then it is sad and you it is a pity to me. Always hard when you lose and you go to minus. That the project not absolutely does right thing, probably this opinion premature and the opinion of everyone is separately considered in the real community.

If you had done just the minimum of research from the discord, you would have realized that BigZim has had a family emergency and will be back very soon to make ALL payments from three-eyed.

if you are longer in crypto you know that all exit scams are being done under a "force majeure" premise. we dont know him and cant verify it. but we can judge from communication and behavior.

its natural to have doubts especially when the communication is that bad. (the admin should feel the responsability to post an information on the miner page. thats easy and takes less time than to hang out in some discord and answering one after another random miner).

Moved from threeEyed to different pool, hopefully I can leave gpu's mining in peace now. With terrible loss of over 1.000 coins.
Lesson learned don't use threeeyed. I will put that in everyday calendar as reminder not to forget.

And remove that cra* from 1st post that says official pool threeeyed, if that is official then I want back my coins from RavenCoin team, deal??

Can you post your wallet address that you were mining to here, that way I can send it over when I talk to BigZim

mine too please if you have contact with BigZim.

RD2LLXkUNweH9q3aW9s5VAh4Jfktbd9PXx  ~221 RVN were mature before it got to zero without payment.

Stop whining silly kids, the Threeeyed pool is paying out now like he mentioned on Discord.
Back off, give the guy a break dealing with it..\

oh yes im giving him a break and switched pools to suprnova. if this would have bene a 0% fee pool the situation would be different.
if you charge, you have to deliver. least of all communication. whats happening, whats the issue, when will it be fixed.
the loss of trust is complete. at this point even if the missing rvn are being payed out eventually im done with it.

UPDATE:
- added miner claymore-xmr-v11.3
- added miner xmr-stak-v2.4.1-cuda8 (nvidia+amd support of monero fork)
- added miner ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s-cuda8.0 (x16r and x16s support for nvidia)
- another invisible php code optimization

same miner crash issue with tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s which i encountered in before (see mails before). i literally copied the line from enemy miner. its the same config. one has no issues (enemy), one crashed (nevermore, tpruvot)
/root/xminer.sh: line 69: 21902 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS

maybe if you try to reproduce it you could 1) select enemy miner and than 2) switch to nevermore or tpruvot-v2.2.5. maybe something gets messed up on the way.

as feature idea: would be get to have supminer, the x16r OSS derivate from the supernova admin.

Guys i found the reason of that error.
You are copying porbably something from example configs and i checked those syntaxes.
There is one character that looks like space but it is different character than space.
Most probably HARD SPACE.
Please remove the "space character" after -u and then add again space using spacebar on your keyboard Smiley
Tell me if this is working ? Cheesy

many thanks for investigating !
i checked that but double checked after your post.  not for me at least.  i just see its line 69 now. used to be 68. i didnt looked into the xminer.sh in question to see what exactly is there

see:

Code:
-a x16r -o stratum+tcp://stratum.threeeyed.info:3333 -u RD2LLXkUNweH9q3aW9s5VAh4Jfktbd9PXx.$rigName -p x -i 19
checked the hex of the line im entering just to be sure.
Code:
045 097 032 120 049 054 114 032 045 111 032 115 116 114 097 116 117 109 043 116 099 112 058 047 047 115 116 114 097 116 117 109 046 116 104 114 101 101 101 121 101 100 046 105 110 102 111 058 051 051 051 051 032 045 117 032 082 068 050 076 076 088 107 085 078 119 101 072 057 113 051 097 087 057 115 053 086 065 104 052 074 102 107 116 098 100 057 080 088 120 046 036 114 105 103 078 097 109 101 032 045 112 032 120 032 045 105 032 049 057
its ASCII code 32. i retyped anyway all manually (minus address).

the error remains. i have this only with nevermore rvn miner.

hello to all. started switching my AMD Rigs from ETH to RVN.
What hashrates do you receive? i can hardly recognize anything in the console so hard to see what hashrate miner is showing.
on pool i get 12mh per 6x rx570 4gb rig. i think its not ok. i read that it should be 6 MH per card at least. any ideas or similar results?

I can't help you but maybe you can help me Smiley
I woluld like to mine RVN but I don't know what command to use. What miner, command, and pool do you use?

using yiimp.eu pool

miner: sgminer-brian112358-x16r-v0.0

-k x16r -o stratum+tcp://yiimp.eu:3666 -u yourRVNadress -p x -I 21 --thread-concurrency 1024 --gpu-threads 2

Thanks for help. I still get old error...

got the same issue

line 68 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS

but only with one miner (nevermore ravencoin miner (modified ccminer)).  evilminer (for ravencoin) or dstm (zm equihash) works without issue.
i posted the issue in the ravencoin thread but i guess it would have been better suited here. here are the details of the issue:

Interestingly the Miner Path problems refers to the same line (line 68). But without the zero_free_space error)
there should be enough room on the SmOS usb:

Re: Gigabyte-GA-H110-D3A Mining board SUCKS! Can't get 6gpu up and running
by
dodgertc
on 26/02/2018, 10:48:00 UTC
Hi,

so i read through all this thread, got the same board and maybe a similar problem.

What do i use?:
- SMOS

What works:
-  Without any modification 5 GPU´s are being recognized out of the box

Whats the main issue:
GPU´s in Slot 6 are not being recognized. GPU´s in M2 slot are not being recognized
2a. i had once a 650TI being recognized in Slot6 for whatsoever reason. But i could not reproduce it and it was (obviously) only a test card. (i dont use that for mining, its just laying around)

How do i try to fix the main issue:
- I replaced already riser, usb cables, power and tried with different cards. It´s not related. All works fine for itself but not as 6th card.
- Reading the conclusions of this thread i want to update the Bios. I got the latest bios ready on an USB Stick

Whats the issue to update the bios:
- I see the BIOS Gigabyte Splash screen and if i press "DEL" it stops there, but i cant get past it. Only the spash screen is displayed. I cant enter into the settings part of the bios. The monitor is attached over a VGA Cable (its an old 10" CRT which is fine for console display). Monitor is attached to GPU0 over a signal converterwhich is showing the splash screen.
If i dont press "DEL" it continues to boot (if i have the booting USB SMOS inserted) after the spash screen. If i pressed del as said it just hangs infinitely on the spash screen.

What did i try:
- I tried to reset the bios (with unplugged power cord), i tried to attach different keyboards (ps/2) but the keyboard remains responsiveness (num key) during all the process. i just cant enter inside the settings part of the bios.

Has someone an idea ? Its crazy in my  Farm i have like 0 issues with 0 ROI old low power, 4gig mem PC´s in which use 1-2 expander cards to get the them multi GPU ready. 0 issues on 6+ Card mining rigs using old underlaying hardware with enough pci lanes in combination with 1080ti´s, 1070ti´s and titanium Power supplies.

But oh irony with this dedicated piece of hardware which should work like a charm i have os far most of the issues. My goal is to run 7 GPU´s on it. 6 on the pci 1x and 1 on the M2 (using the white adapter i already installed).
