So whats a good second coin to mine at the moment ?

Don’t bother. All 2nd coins supported by Claymore (or others) are being sucked by ASIC giants.

This dual mining, was useful a few years ago - but their developers never bothered to tell customers not to waste their time anymore.

Now, any ETH mining software would do. Just find the cheaper or free tools around.

kewl, thanks man

Hi Claymore

could you help with an issue i am having with voltage control

1. when i choose -cvddc of under 800 then the software uses the -mvddc value as the core voltage? is this a bug or something else? (amd cards)

thanks

MR Bigdaddy

Try and read some of the stuff in the previous pages you might just learn something more..

Your problem is that you have overclocked the cards too much.
leave the core clock frequency the same
change only the memory by adding only 300 mhz not more unless you have cards with samsung memory which can take upto 700mhz safely unless you dont win the silicon lotterry that is too.....

I had to revert back to v11.7 on my Linux mining rig because v11.8 keeps crashing even after reducing the overclock speeds.  On v11.7 I can run my normal overclock speeds and the miner is much more stable.  Has anyone else had any stability issues on Linux?  My 4 Windows 10 miners seem to be working fine.

@bigdaddymccarron, could it be your swap file is not big enough for the DAG files?  I'm no expert on Ubuntu, but sometimes we overlook the simplest things.

Did you just mention swap file and ubuntu in the same sentence....LOL

Hi Claymore

Excellent work on the new versions.

Just one question
is 11.8 due soon?
Only asking because i wanna update all my rigs to the latest and if the new one is almost ready ill rather wait so i can be up to date one time?
kinda schlep to update many rigs at one time....

Hi Claymore

Please note that 3gb cards have now reached there dag limit on ethereum.

problem now is that even if we start mining coins that have much smaller dags, when DEVFEE mining starts it tries to find eth which the cards can no longer handle so the miner crashes.

Please create more alternate DEVFEE mining pools for DEVFEE mining .
Thanks

Hi
how to min XVG Blak2s alone?
Thanks
Mego

From FAQ:

- How to mine Decred or Sia ONLY with this Ethereum Dual miner?
No way. It is Ethereum miner with extra bonus coins. To mine extra coins only use other miners.
It would be awesome if you could package all your miners in one and maybe switch algos on the fly

That here is prob one of the best suggestions i have seen on this thread....

the above is because you have overclocked too much. startthe mem overclock at 100mhz run for a few days and see if this occurs and beleive me this will not happen . you need to find that one card that is moaning...

Thanks and I’ve been trying to reduce it each time but not getting it right. I finally tried to limit power to 85%, core +100 and memory +650. Been running for more than 5 hours without issue so far. Smiley

for nvidia cards set power limit to 68%, gpu oc to 0 and mem to about 200 then 300 then 400 till it crashes.

ok guys it seems 3gb cards have officially stopped working on eth network.  Dag erro etc etc, the 6gb cards in the same rigs are doing fine. surprising though is that under stats its says 2.4gb used for dag.

one by one all the 3gb rigs gave up.

or am i missing something?
Lol it's working fine. I tried now on my home 1060 3Gb http://i99.fastpic.ru/big/2018/0207/ee/b22615c135858269c7284bcc78c673ee.jpg
In order to mine effectively, the DAG is kept in a ring buffer in VRAM (graphics memory).

You don't usually need to think about it, but graphic cards these days host programs, like "Dropbox", "WinZip", "Firefox" and others. Those reduce the total amount of DDR4 memory available to the mimer.

On nVidia cards (not certain how to do this on AMD cards) you can set a parameter in the driver to show the apps running in VRAM in a 'tray' icon. Now that we went to Epoch 168 today, the size is 2.31GB. - only one hundredth of a gigabyte but still, 10k more than the previous Epoch. Eventually 3GB cards will be unable to hold the DAG in memory.

Ah i forgot to add that im mining etc abnd the dag is past 178 now . i switched to eth its working fine. etc dag has reached max for 3gb cards.

Hi, could someone possible put there batch file for electroneum for ver 10.2 please? on mining pool   pool.electroneum.space
thanks

This is the batch file I've been using, with Ver 10.2, on pool.electroneum.space , with any luck MiningPoolHub http://miningpoolhub.com will soon have ETN on there list of coins.

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

All the idiots that are trying to cheat Claymores system please know that you are stealing. the man puts his effort and time into giving us something that is making us money.
he is entitled to make that money. if you dont like that then dont use it fair and simple.

Yes he is a dick most of the time with his attitude of knowing it all but still that does not allow or give us the right to steal from him.

Anyone who is stealing in this form know that you are feeding your families with stolen Money!!!

Wrong is always wrong and if you support wrong in whatever way you need to look deep down in your heart and check where it has all gone wrong.

This is a good and clean community so lets keep it that way.
