In that case what is the best way of selling bitcoins or the more widely used alternative coins such as LTC, FTC, etc... ?
Escrow seems like a pretty good way on this forum to exchange for physical goods (though there is a fee), but is there any safe/recommended way to exchange for fiat besides meeting that person and exchanging for cash?
I suppose you could do a cash escrow type thing, but I don't think mailing currency is a good idea. Anyways

Agreed, an advisement does not mean it is law. There have been many "advisements" made by the IRS which
did not hold up in court. A positive advisement is good protection if the IRS tries to go after you, but a negative
advisement does not mean they will win when they do. I assume the same is true in Thailand for these types of things.

I'm looking to mine alternative coins since gpu mining of bitcoins is starting to slow pretty drastically for me now. Which alternative coins have decent liquidity to convert into USD or bitcoins?

I've started lite coins since there are exchanges for those, but what about feather coins and others?
Is there any value at all in the others yet? pi coins? prime coins? etc...
