I'm not sure what does an Avalon ASIC has to do with it?
I hope it's just a joke. Some people don't get it that these ASICS can only do double SHA256-hashing of a 80 byte long string. Nothing else. They aren't even good for password cracking unless you password is 80 bytes long and you have it as a sha256 hashe and could hash it a 2nd time.
Should have researched before talking bs. Cracking requires lots of bandwidth.
lol no. Does successfully cracking a couple of Password count as "research"? Why should it need lots of Bandwidth?

If I'm not mistaken and an 66GHs AVALON Unit needs ~450KWh/Month that would be ~$130/Month (how much does the KWh cost in the US?). So the Difficulty needs to be 150x for not to be profitable. O_O

Soooo ~60,000GHs x 150 = 9,000,000GHs
Well umh, yes...
And the $/BTC will probably raise.

Hey,
I don't pay for electricity. Therefore, mining would be a good idea for me to make money. However, I cannot afford more than a single HD 7870. In addition, when the difficulty rises, this will not work very well. However, would it be a good to idea to wait until even the ASIC mining is not profitable and then buy these used ASICs? If only few people are still interested in these devices, they will become very cheap, isn't it? When will this happen? Are there many people buying AVALON ASICs or are they waiting for BFL to deliver (  Undecided )?

Well. At least the Trojan is gone now. I found the logs. They were in %appdata%\dclogs\. I have crated a web wallet (need to change password though), because I don't have the money for a 2nd, secure Computer dedicated to mining. I hope for the difficulty to not rise that much. But I'm glad this only happened to 0.5 BTC.

It's all german to me.
Oh. I'm sorry. Here is the link for the transaction if you're interested: https://blockchain.info/tx/ea02b66f3476293e1e0d4fe508d7f0e91cf69d5e925e4f0a6717c91291fe62c3

I don't get it. Why would malware play satoshidice for you?

Wait! are you saying that all that satoshidust is due to malware? ?
It could have stolen my wallet, couldn't it? I also have a new Adress in my BTC Wallet.

Hi,
I heard from BTC a few years (?) ago but wasn't interedted. Don't know exactly when. The only thing i remember was the exchange rate of $35/BTC if I'm not mistaken. Then, a few months later I found BTC interesting but the rate was at ~$2/BTC.

So I decided for myself that BTC has no future and didn't care about it. Recently I have bought a HD 7870 for hashcracking (Games + AMD Driver = BSOD). And so I looked in Bitcoin again and was vexed to not have 50x my money ;_;

Atleast I have mined 50€ and I'll observe this because BTC could be soooo big. And I'm too curious with the skyrocking of the prices. Smiley
