divisor (kSol to sol) = 1000
estimate_current / divisor * hashrate (per second) = profit per day (in btc)

Thanks, I was making it more complicated than it needed to be :-)
Annoying that there is no way to get the divisors from the API but I can live with that I guess.

Hi, I am trying to write a mining optimiser similar to nemosminer but done in python rather than powershell.
I am having trouble understanding the return calculation for the algorithms !!
When I do the calculation I have to add a 'fudge factor' of 1e5 to make it come out right
and I don't understand where this comes from.

For Example Equihash
GTX 980 does 330 Hash/Sec
Multiply by 3600 * 24 to get  Hash/Day

330 * 3600 * 24 = 28.5 MH/Day
Zpool Rate for Equihash = 0.67508 mBtc/KSol/Day
or In MSol(MH) 0.67508 BTC/MH/DAY

28.5 * .067508 = 19.23 BTC/Day

The correct answer as got by NemosMiner is actually .0001923
i.e. I am 1e5 out

This is obviously me misunderstanding the units at some point in the calculation but I don't see where !

Anyone point out my stupid error ?

With NVIDIA GTX 1070's; is X17 worth mining?

Are there particular algorithms that are better for NVIDIA cards?

Please advise?

The best algo to mine varies on a day to day (hour to hour) basis.
It seems that the best way to go is to use an auto switch/profit maximising miner - I use Nemosminer and it seems to work well
on zpool.

First time you start it it will benchmark all the algos on your rig then work out in real time the most profitable one to mine.

You may be able to tweak profitability a bit more by using the nvidia-smi utility to adjust power limit on your cards
you are aiming for max hash/watt rather than max hash overall (assuming you pay something for electricity)

I run 1070 cards and have found that a power limit of about 170 watts/card is best but I think it depends on the exact card you have
the default is a power limit of about 200 watts/card (depending on the card bios) and after a fair bit of benchmarking I found
lowering the power limit a bit got more hash/watt for a few % better overall return at the expense of a slightly smaller daily income.

I moved over from the UBN thread

I read through the website, and didn't see a FAQ.  I'm trying to understand this.

So I setup an anonymous miner using ... a btc address?  Not the wallet address you are mining?
The pool converts the mining to BTC and pays to the miners username / which is the BTC address?

You can ask for payout in any currency the pool mines, although if the pool has not got enough to pay you when
it comes to payout time you have to wait until it does.

The pool can always pay BTC because it exchanges other coins for BTC but it normally never exchanges BTC into anything else
(I think there is a current exception for LTC)

You set what you want to be paid in by having your password contain "c=XXX" where XXX is the currency you want
usually it would be c=BTC.

The important bit is that the address you mine to matches the currency you ask for in the c=XXX field
or else your mining payments can just vanish into a wallet you have no way to get to.

Note that for BTC payments the pool kindly pays all the tranaction fees, so you get the full amount the web page says.
I do not know if this is true for other currencys.

Would it help reduce the pools transaction fees on payouts if everyone switched to using a segwit address for payouts or would this not have a significant effect ?
Unless I have misunderstood it (very probable) everyone using a segwit address should reduce the payout transaction size and hence either the transaction cost
or make the transaction cost ?

Current zpool value for X17 Hash Looks rather too good to be true !,
Nemosminer is telling me I 'm earning 85 USD / day with a single GTX 980
which would be nice if it was real :-)

Looks like an off by *10 ish ?

I have 2 payouts being late. One is late for over a day, another is 6 hours. I checked the transaction, but both are unconfirmed. Usually, it takes about 1 hour to get through, those 2 of my payouts are longer than usual. Is that normal?

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions
So, that means, all the transaction will go through lately? I'm new to the pool, so, I dont really know how a multi-pool works or payout.

there is a growing global queue of BTC transactions. All you can do it wait, and have a coffee. The BTC was sent from the pool and now waits.

The transactions FEEs for BTC are incredibly expensive and no end in sight...  BTC transaction processing is so ridiculous right now!!

Is there anyway that the POOL can change your primary payout currency to something other than BTC???  Like LTC, BCH, DASH or ETH?

I know individually you can change your worker password to get another currency but that only works if there is enough in the pool's wallet for that coin.  Is anyone doing this and this works without issue?

The BTC transactions are killing the small miner's profit...!

For pool miners the transaction fees are not a big deal, at least as far as getting the bitcoin.
The last payment transaction from zpool had a total transaction fee of 0.1 BTC = $1563 USD which sounds like a LOT BUT
there were 2851 miners paid in this transaction - So the Per Miner Fee was only 53 cents, reasonable even for the smallest miner.
The confirtmation delay is a bit of a pain but considering it probaly took multiple days to min the coin even an extra day for the transaction to confirm is not horrible.
and the best bit, the pool pays the transaction fee in any case, obviously it comes out of the total but this benefits the smaller miners
because they would have had a smaller share of the pool and hence payed a smaller share of the total fee.
All in all it seems to work OK. Unless you have a better plan ?

Hi, rather new to mining more or less just getting set up, I have got nemosMiner all working nicely and it is bringing in money at zpool.
Just wondering about the Algo switch interval, the default is 120 secods and it looks like quite a lot of the time when 2 algos are close
it can often switch almost every period, it also of course has to hit the API every 120 seconds or so.

Does having such a short period actually help ?,  given that any coins mined are only validated and exchanged probably an hour or so (at best) later
and by then probably have a different value.

Would changing the period to 10 mins or longer hit returns at all ?, I would expect it would lower load on the zpool api !

Thanks

Difficulty for Equihash Algo
by

Should the d=xxx set difficulty work for equihash ?

I am using the DTSM zm miner and the server is setting difficulty to  0000ffff0000000000000000 on startup.
This does not change whatever I put in the password field for d= (tried d=10  d=128 and a couple of others.)
not really a big problem but on my gtx1070 with about 450 sols/sec it mens I only submit shares about 1 per 2 minutes
the shares are being accepted fine and the average hashrate shown by zpool is close so just for interest really.
BTW, DTSM is about 10% faster on a gtx 1070 than ccminer even after taking the dev fee into account, so worth using if you are
mining equihash.

Second question :-), How come crypronight is not on the Algo list, its prob the best use of the AMD cards ?
