Since I don't have any clue about VPS setup, can you recommend some VPS service provider that can run the HN?

There may be some services that crop up offering hypernode setup or even hosting services or 'shared' nodes where you split the collateral.

Some projects support it, others dont. Not sure where bismuth stands.

I always stay away from any service that involves sending your coins to another address where you don't control the private key.
Me neither,

I'm just curious if I rent a vps and run the node there. In case of the VPS got hack, can I lose my coins?

You must host on the vultr.com.
Thanks, hope there will be some instruction for dummy on how to set it up.

Yes the machine requirements are a bit higher than usual, but this can be lowered later, we did this because we don't know how the HyperNodes will perform in real conditions. Anyway you can try with a low end hardware and see how it performs, then you can tune up the machine.

About the rewards, the PoS chain will collect metrics about the HyperNodes and you will get rewards on weekly basis. As for "where the reward come", from the miners; 0.8 BIS/block will be taken from PoW mining rewards and the HyperNodes holders will be rewarded for their contribution to the network.

For more info about the HyperNodes please come to our Discord: https://discord.gg/4tB3pYJ and check #news channel. Also you can follow our twitter accounts for more info about the project and updates: https://twitter.com/bismuth_cz and https://twitter.com/bismuthdev

When does the hypernode run? Does it require VPS or just lock the coins in the wallet?

Hi, most likely your blockchain is corrupted or maybe synced to the old chain beyond the fork height.  Please delete your blockchain and resync and you will be good to go, thank you.

THanks for your fast response. But so sorry I don't know how to delete the old chain. Do you have the instruction on how to do it?

Minergate will update today but it looks like they haven't "flipped the switch" yet to the new PoW on their poolside front end.

Can you confirm if Minergate have "flipped the switch" yet? Thank you.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: DigitalNote must refork because although the post-fork difficulty was hardcoded to be lower to allow for GPU miners it was still too high.  This happened because we estimated the difficulty with the understanding that Minergate would support the fork.  They pulled a fast one on us yesterday and told us that they would not be supporting it even though they said that they were previously (all the way up to fork date!).  This caused our estimated post-fork difficulty to be much too high for the actual hashrate, effectively stalling the chain.  We are still in talks with Minergate so they may change their mind but in the meantime the dev team has decided to refork with a lower difficulty to keep the chain moving. It's a very simple change (although very important) and all funds are safe etc.

The exact refork height is now block #669369 which is in less than 24 hours.  We have sent the new code and binaries to all exchanges, pools and wallet services.  Please download the new core below and support the coin by mining it when we fork.  The difficulty will be fairly low post-fork until it adjusts upward so it should be very fruitful for GPU miners.  You must update or you will be on the wrong stalled network.  Thank you for understanding.  Beware if you mine on Minergate because you are not on the real chain anymore but rather the old one that is able to be manipulated and exploited (until further notice).

It is very important that you update to GUI v1.0.15c or CLI v5.0.2 to ensure that you are on the correct network.  Links below:

The GUI wallet cannot load in Windows 10. I open and then it just disappear. No error warning or anything display.

Wallet for windows runs not very smooth (hang very often).
Is there any news for new exchange? Only Cryptopia seems not enough.

Same here.
app hangs every few minutes, non functional. Windows10.

Here everything runs smoothly, i use the wallet to claim the twitter reward and to buy eggs from dragginator. Maybe is something in your PC that slow down the connection or is any conflict.
Lighweight wallet or full node wallet?

11 Jun 2018 Saronite dev team decided to edit the blockchain (rollback). Please message the XRN dev team directly for any inconveniences caused by this decision
Saronite dev team reverted (removed from the blockchain) about 3000 blocks

What is the above info? What happened, devs?

Hi there,

Our network was under attack, the same as other cryptonight heavy coins.
We have now implemented a fix for it not to happen again.

Which roll back did you mention?
Can you give me original source of the very important event for Saronite community?
Here: https://xrn.fairpool.xyz/
I'm also confused about this info like you because all my rigs are mining xrn and seeing the info of rolling back 3000 block really confuse me.

The rollback was caused because we were attacked and we couldn't let someone that attacks the network get 3000 blocks. Hope that makes sense.

Well your decision took away 230 coins in my wallet. I just checked with the pool.

He didnt take anything mate - this is what happens when it becomes ungodly easy to mine from various attacks that can be carried out. You never had the coins. Its just that the chain was under attack and issued them erroneously.
Are you sure?
What happened when the network is underattack? dev can do nothing. Then they realize the attack and they rollback the chain to the block before attack. So what happened with the "normal block" that I mined after the attack?

The attack was a timewarp on the blockchain, they used a vulnerability to inject blocks with a timestamp în the future which dropped the difficulty and then they managed to mine a lot of blocks. It has now been patched and the blockchain was reverted before the attack.
So it looks like what happened with Verge, right?

Can you expose some info here? I don't know any attack since there's no big hashrate difference while mining.
How did they attack? And what's their purpose? Double spend?

Re: Bytom Mining - ASIC algorithm now cracked by GPU miners? Big profits?
by

on 29/05/2018, 17:29:50 UTC
Hello guys, after other days of tests here are my results:

Today i upgraded the miner to the v2 , this version seems to use all resources in just one instance (so no need to run more than one),

My initally setup was of 3x gtx 1060 and 1x gtx 1070, doing some tests i have seen that the 1070 was not working as expected so i removed it and i put a 1050 NON ti.

The hashrate was around 700 h/s to 1000 h/s with 3x 1060 and 1x 1050 (non-ti) and g4440 as cpu

I changed my g4440 to i5 6400 and hashrate is now stable on 1000 h/s:
The 1050 (non ti) is doing 230 h/s (i was like OMG)
First 1060 3 gb is doing around 320 h/s
Second 1060 3 gb is doing around 230 h/s
Third 1060 3 gb is doing around 200 h/s

I tried to mount the 1070 but global hashrate got compromised so i removed it again (maybe 1070 is not good atm with this miner), however in single test (only 1070 mounted), it was doing 355 h/s

I run other single tests (only 1 gpu connected), here are the results:

1050 (non ti) : 255 h/s
1060 3 gb : 340 h/s
1070 355 h/s

Hi, your 1050 non ti is 2GB or 4GB? Is memory capacity a big factor with this algorithm?

Thanks to gregory021998 for helping me get it running.

On G4400, 4 gb ram and 12*1050ti HiveOS rig, I found out that I can't run more then 10 gpus. With 10 gpus I can only run a single instance. Hash rate - 600-750 h/s.

Only with 5 gpus I can run two instances. Hash rate approx 300-400 h/s per instance. So hash rate of 5 gpu is same as hash rate of 10. I can only run 3 instances with 3 gpus only. Hashrate was 125-140 h/s per instance i.e. 125-140 h/s per 1050ti. Cpu load was high with 3 instances. No OC.

I will test it again when I get an i5 cpu.

There is a lot of hidden potential with GPU Bytom mining and if the miners are optimised, I am sure it will be the most profitable big mcap coin. Sharing is caring guys, so please share if you discover something about Bytom gpu mining.
So you mean 5gpus running two instances is the best choice in your case?
I read the whole thread and see that 1050ti is the best p/p vga for this bytom mining, right?
