It is not very attractive to play for others if one player paid a huge amount and had good luck with a very fast payment.
On the other hand it prevents players that played a huge amount with bad luck and a slow payment from loosing almost all coins.

Due to the change from one payment address for all players to personal payment addresses for each player, coinrun is now compatible with any wallet. There is no risk anymore by using wallets which can't receive bitcoins with the address which was used for sending (shared wallets). All you need to play the game is your own bitcoin wallet address.

The difference between those two timestamps is calculated as a laziness factor. The higher it is (the more time a payment needed to be included in a block) the slower is the coin. If there are two or more coins with the same laziness in the same race, the alphabetical order of the transaction id decides which coin is faster.
At least its a bet if your payment comes into a block faster then the payment of the other players.

To reduce the time to wait until a race can start, we changed the number of players per race from 10 to 4.
At the same time the maximum to win changed from 178% to 198%.

Blockchain is public! You can verify each transaction and their timestamps i. e. at blockchain.info.All do you calculate the winners? Is it completely random?

To get a fast coin, you can try to predict when the next block will occur and make your transaction shortly before to get it confirmed in that block.

A similar thing happened to me. I have sent some coins to address A only to see some more sent at the same time to address B. If I understand correctly, I also control address B so I haven't lost out. I am using bitcoin-qt under linux. Is there a way I can see inside my wallet to confirm that I control both of these addresses? I don't doubt the integrity of bitcoin, I just want to learn more.
Not sure where you can find it in the linux version, but bitcoin-qt has a Debug Window with a console (in Mac it's under Help - Debug Window - Console). Open it and type validateaddress .
