What's the timeframe? Smiley

As it seems we have established a bottom in the market (save for a severe dip under $6k which I think will reverse fairly quickly) most coins outside top 20 can achieve this easy within the next 12-18mths.

No one is truly using blockchain atm (more people own Daaps coins than there are users of those coins), so for me coins that will appreciate the most in 12-18mths will be those that start to see real world adoption and use.

Storage coins and distributed computing:
- Golem
- Sia
- Storj
- Maidsafe

Privacy:
For this I think it makes sense that the coin with the best tech, the 'most private' wins...

- Spectrecoin

particularly the way it protects the sender (the weakest link for most privacy coins)

A lot of ICO coins are pure speculation with no working product (hence the ICO to fund). In these bearish times I think people realise the values were way off for these projects and the day may never come.

I'll agree on Spectrecoin - full disclosure I have invested a small amount. It's high risk but very real chance of high reward. It's current rank is criminal.

For me the rationale for privacy coins is clear. The 'need' has not been realised yet, but will. Then it comes down to what is the most private (with acceptable transaction fees) and speed to a certain extent.

Look into the detail of most privacy coins and you'll see their weakest link is not adequately protecting the sender, Spectrecoin does this better than any privacy coin I'm aware of.

Hold Spectrecoin, Sumokoin and have held Verge in the past (pre Pornhub partnership).

Agree Spectrecoin is a really interesting project a has potential to blow-up. It has some great tech, but as we know best tech does not always mean leading coin...

Monero has best network effects... but TBH long term it looks like privacy features will just be integrated into the main coins anyway.

Decentralisation yes.

I would say another key characteristic is a 'shipped' product. A working product. So many of these projects / ICOs are priced on hype and pure speculation. Those that are out there and functioning I think are being valued for that function. Doge is just as good an example of this as Bitcoin!

Privacy coins too? I think the crypto bear market is coinciding with some crises in more traditional markets + countries experiencing hyper-inflation. Dash has stayed strong and I wonder if its adoption in Venezuela has something to do with that?

I'm invested in and interested in POS privacy coin Spectrecoin, it's got the best tech and remains 'undiscovered', but can't see that lasting too much longer, especially when they launch stealth staking.

Great list.

I was keeping an eye on HPB a few months back, but as we've been in descent price-wise have held off investing. As we near the bottom I'm taking a look again.

Hold some Stratis, like the project and a bit further along than most BaaS projects... they'll need a lot of consultancy with the business world to take off. That takes time so hopefully Stratis will bear fruit once the market reverses and good news stories surface around businesses adopting blockchain.

One I'm really excited about is Spectrecoin (https://spectreproject.io). It's a little known POS privacy coin which as far I'm concerned has the most advance tech. Most privacy coins aren't that private but Spectrecoin protects the sender and the receiver, plus all nodes / wallets run on Tor. Best of all come Q1 2019 they should have launched Stealth Staking too. It hit $5.50 in Jan, today's price $0.22 so will do x26 just to get back to previous high.

The thing with privacy coins is the use case isn't really there yet, but when people start adopting crypto and realise their transactions are there for all to see, people will seek out privacy coins and in that battle it's the 'most private' coins that will win out.

Tool to monitor relative strength / weakness of two altcoins

Hi,

Fairly new to Crypto and trading.

Bought and sold a few alts this last couple of months to create a portfolio.

In this volatile market I’m looking for a tool that can help me understand the relative value of one alt to another over time, priced in bitcoin… essentially the spread between the two over time (priced daily, hourly etc.)

For example something that could graph say XRP against Stellar showing the difference (unit, percentage) in bitcoin between the two.

Something like this would be useful to help understand when to trade out of one and into another (via bitcoin of course, understand there could be fluctuation between intermediate trades).

Does anyone know of such a tool?

Thanks
