got a new strange problem and have no idea how to fix it. phoenix 5.5c amd 20.5.1 windows 10 fall creator update. 7x ref vega 56/64 all with morpheus coolers (so no temp problem). the system was mining for a month stable but now every 1-2 days gpu1 sais 4556765645 mh/s and crashes the miner. drivers do not reset, i just need to wait till windows closes the miner so i can restart it. any ideas?

Hi all,

I started mining eth few weeks ago when I finally got a RX6800.

At the beginning I used TMR because almost everywhere I read it was the best for AMD, lately I tried Phoenix and I have to say it's definely better, I get 64mh/s while con TMR I got just 62.
I'm talking about the 24 hour average speed I get from ethermine, not only the one I get from the miner.

So this miner is faster and it has lower fees, what can I ask more?

I have 2 questions:
1) I found a website called Phoenixminer.org where I could download the miner. Is it legit? I downloaded it from github but I would like to know it for future reference
2) I read some bad news about nicehash accusing Phoenix to be a scam. How the situation ended? I guess if this thread is still open it means it was proved that Phoenix is trustworthy, but I would like to be sure.

Phoenix just rocks mate he is not even close scam. to be 100% sure download miner only from the first post page

got a strange prob on my personal computer and one of my rigs. after a day or two teamviewer goes offline (but miner still works for half a day) and in the end this error message appear An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full. Windows 10 latest build drivers: 18.12 and 18.6 . systems have sufficient vram . any suggestions?

Hello, enter the Device Manager: Network Adapters and if you have this (WAN Miniport) then disable them all and restart your computer. Then verify that they are really disabled.
You must also verify with HWiNFO64 that you do not have memory errors in the GPUS, if you have them, just lower the memory clock until you eliminate them. I had that glitch and managed to fix it with these 2 options.
Excuse my bad english  Grin

You are right !! opened device manager and had like 8!! wan miniports ,disabled them all restarted and none of it even appears now, that's for stage 1, for stage 2 if problem still there i will lower the mem clock. Thank you mate for your advice!!!

hi doc thanks for the awesome miner,

after 1.8.4 my start.bat is;
 SRBMiner-CN.exe --logfile %LOGTIME% --ccryptonighttype normalv4 --cgpuid 0,1,2,3 --cgpuintensity 112,112,112,112 --cgpuworksize 16,16,16,16 --cgputhreads 2,2,2,2 --cgputweakprofile 5,5,5,5 --shutdowntemperature 80  --pools pools.txt

in version 8.4 when miner is start it shows tweaking : enabled. but after I change the version to 1.8.5 and  use same start.bat it shows tweaking : disabled. how can I change this situation ?

thanks in advance

Put in some Vega gpus Smiley)
Tweaking is atm only for Vega gpus, so from 1.8.5 if no supported gpu found, tweaking gets disabled.

Doc tweak works (almost**) at 1.8.4 , at your new version it just sais disabled...no matter what i do (7x ref vegas 56 all samsung mem)
now about the almost...it works only at prof 1 all others freeze instantly the system... cards at 1407/950  940/900 PPTs 1100 hbm (the classic everyone uses) old version overdrive.

Hello, u will support uplexa new algo:UPXTWO ?

Quote  Wink

Sure i will, im waiting on the dev/devs

"+ --preparedata can now give a small boost with turtle, mox, heavy and gpu algo on Vega56. Did not test on other cards."
It is like going worse on vega64 - from 49700 to 48400 /12 vegas
Maybe I am doing something wrong?:
SRBMiner-CN.exe --config Config\config-mox.txt --pools poolsmox.txt --preparedata --resetvega --gpureorder --disablegpuwatchdog --logfile %LOGTIME%
or
SRBMiner-CN.exe --config Config\config-mox.txt --pools poolsmox.txt --resetvega --preparedata  --gpureorder --disablegpuwatchdog --logfile %LOGTIME%\
Same results
19.1.1

You are not doing anything wrong, looks like vega64 does not like it. I tested only on Vega56 with Hynix mem, cause thats what i got.

I really miss the stability that CASTXMR provided. Month after month and I never looked at the miner 100% uptime. Maybe you can reach out to him (CASTXMR DUDE) for some assistance? This miner crashes every week for me.

Weird i switched monthw ago to srb coz it was rock solid.cast wasnt good for me...(oem vegas 56) but was solid for my rx580s

thinking of bios modification to my ref vegas 56. Can someone please (that has done it) tells me a good stable config and the pros/cons of all this? does it worth it? already stable 56's with 1880h/s each

You cannot mod the BIOS of a Vega 56, you can only modify PowerPlay tables for Vega.  Alternatively, you can use Win10 and the latest beta version of OverdriveNTool 0.2.8beta1.  Also, you can swap the Vega 56 BIOS with the Vega 64 BIOS.  But you cannot mod a Vega BIOS.

HEllo thanks for your reply, yes i meant swapping bios..do you know any drawbacks like high temperatures etc or all just the same, my problems is that im living in a country with high ambient temps so i cant bear to set the fans any higher already i have a vega fan headache.already using overdrive (older version) to config vegas everything seted up via vega mining guide and powertable

Hello

Any "genuine" word about custom vega's hashrate, so far only reading really low hashrates ( are all of these with blockchain drivers) but very good temps with low noise

using cast xmr sometime now, so far so freakin good ! got free electricity so i follows gandalph guide for 2050h/s (running 56's) at -10% 990 ram and +13% power. anyone managed to find a sweet spot for bigger gains but higher power draw? experimented many many settings but with no luck... best of is 10mins at 2110h/s but it crashed or pixels screen

Is that with the 56's running the 64 bios?   It wasn't clear to me if that was factored in at all.

No bios or registry modes.pure 56 with casr and gandalph guide

Hi,

I am a total noob with 4 Vega64 cards and currently running claymores_cryptonight using the nicehash pool. I don't know how to improve my hash rate and I am not sure if I can use the xmr-stak-amd with the nicehash pool. I don't know if it's trustworthy or safe to use other pools right now as I am new. I would appreciate any guidance on what to do with the rig I have. Right now I am @1690 H/s using claymores.

Is there anyway to go up from here?

Thanks!

hello mate. first read the whole topic it has many tips inside... i'm using cast-xmr and it rocks !! 2050 h/s (56's oem bios 225w each card) you can follow developer's guide. google cast-xmr and read the bitcoin talk topic.

I tried to use cast-xmr but it did not work to connect to the nicehash pool.

all my rigs eth with 580's and vega rigs use same mobo. bio tb250btc g4400 16gb ram (580's 8gb) , never mined at ninehash... mining at web.xmrpool with no probs.

some people here claim (and i believe them) that 6+ is doable. i'm on 2 rigs @ 4 56's each...maybe on day i\ll put all of them on a biostar btc+ and have one mobo spare
