There is no such step. I'm not going to do it; too stupid a decision on the price of ethereum does not please me

The price of ETH has risen a lot recently. This might please you.

Best idea hold your BTC for now I think is more stable than ETH You might end with losses doing that Consider the trading the fess and then There will be possible red in which Eth suffers more So I think is safe to just keep 50% of each if its possible but dont sell any for the other

I think it is a good idea to spread your holding. You may have BTC, BCH, ETH.

I think it is pointless to change bitcoin to ETH or back. These are very similar coins. If you really Want to sell bitcoin and buy other coins to expand investments, then pay attention to any of these coins Nucleus Vision, Shivom.

The Bitcoin Cash rose a lot today. Is it good idea to change to some BCH?

BCH dropped a lot recently. I think it is due to the hash war between the ABC and SV. It also caused the drop of bitcoin.

Looking at profitability charts something seems wrong, I went on whatomine and it suggested to switch back to ethereum , due to the power/hash combination of cnv8 vs ethhash.

Something is really off becase when i moved my rigs to ethereum from cnv8 my power use went up by 4 amps

that basically an extra amp per rig nearly.  that is around 1000 watts at 240V.

someone needs to correct the power use calculation used by the profit calcs . V8 uses more power than v7 but no where near close to ether as the calcs have it

I think you need to use your own power consumption to calculate. For me, ETH and V8 has similar profitability.

you can buy a 1080 for $300 used and you can get 40MH with the ETH pill.

why would you buy a $400 card, for the same performance, and less resale value? that P104-100 can only mine and doesn't have display outputs, a 1080 can do everything else, making it much more appealing to potential buyers.

hell even the 1080ti is a better buy, less than $500 and does over 50MH with the pill with very low power use.

keep crying about your poor investment, its ok.

..i was bought 2x P104-100 one for 277€ (321$) and i have stable 40+MH/s on ethash i was really happy becouse my electricy is only 300W for both (and this is the reason - electricity)
POWER limit: 70
Core Clock: 100
Memory Clock: 845
 Wink

I heard the ETH block reward will reduce soon. So will it still be profitable.

Wow,  I have been away from this space for several months but have 8 x 280's mining Zec - my pool shows estimated earnings of 0.2 zec / month.  What on earth happened?  After a quick look around it appears that Zec allowed ASIC mining - that appears to have killed off my GPU mining profitability...  I am probably loosing 3-4 USD per day.

I have just shut down my miners for this reason - I will need to look for something else to mine.  Anyone have any advice?

Many thanks

With the 280, you can mine the XMR, but the profit is also low.

Maybe moving some % of BTC into ETH is a good diversification strategy, while it's cheap?
It is wrong and silly when we move from BTC to ETH. No matter how expensive ETH is, the growth of Bitcoin is much greater than that of ETH. When Bitcoin raises prices multiplier, your ETH can not buy.

Would it be better to move from BTC to BCH instead of ETH? The BCH is going to upgrade soon.

I was able to upload a PowerPlay table to Vega 56/64 on the fly.
No more messy registry hacks. This is getting interesting...

The new miner also has a (somewhat clumsy) way to disable some of
the compute units for reduced power consumption.
I need to run more experiments with that, though.

By the way, my new Ethash kernel made it into ethminer.
(I had no idea for weeks. Smiley
It seems that my kernel is possibly the fastest Ethash kernel out there.
I tweaked it a bit, but I don't think it would get any faster than as it is now.

Is your miner faster for R9 390 as well?

Yes, I think this is quite logical, because Ethereum is more stable at the moment, an increasing number of investors are investing in It.

The problem is that the price is still dropping which means not much interest now.

The Decred coin project is worth investing in long-term positions, and I believe DCR coins will perform very well in the next bull market.

Maybe we can wait a bit longer to invest. The price is still going down now.

Not a bad idea after all, with how the market value plays in the last weeks and how annalist project the price to grow, now is just the right time to trade some bitcoin to Ethereum. We can really speculate the value of these currencies just yet but i am sure this will be the major player in the coming bull run.

It was a nice move last month, but not now. The BTC is rising faster.

I think that it makes sense to have both of these coins in your portfolio. I'm sure that both bitcoin and ethereum will reach a new high of the price this year. We get a lot of good news from the developers of the ethereum, this gives hope for very good growth. At the same time, bitcoin is the foundation of the whole market and the price for it will grow in the first place.

The ETH is performing stongly recently. The relative price drop is less than that of Bitcoin.

Decred development is going at full blast. I wish I had more fiat, so I could fill my bag when they are so cheap!

The great development of DCR will underpin the future price.

No one knows if bitcoin will hit 30K before the end of 2018. But there are some predictions that within this year it will hit 25K.. Bitcoin's price is not easy to predict because of its unstable price.

If there are steady usage of lightning network, the price could reach $30k easily.

Re: Will Crypto currencies make local currencies disappear?
by

Crypto currencies are not a big threat now for the fiat currencies because only very less people who knows about cryptos and even them uses crypto as an asset not an currency so if that continues forever there is no big threat for the fiat currencies because we need fiat to cashout the cryptos. But when the people starts to use crypto as direct payment surely it will replace the fiat in big part but not completely.

As time goes on, more people will use crypto, so crypto will become a threat gradually.

Will Bitcoins hit 30K before the end of this year?

Do you also have kind of assumption? I already have...

I think the bitcoin will reach 18k - 20k by the end of this year, and it looks like bitcoin will have trouble reaching 30k this year. I guess the bitcoin trip in this year is not so good.

I think the price could be more than that. 20k price has already reached earlier in the year.

Nothing substantial, nothing new besides a higher core clock but that is about it, move on, wait for volta on 12nm and grrd6 and you will be happy. Mining with amd is hard, nvidia is so much easier.
.

I will wait for the 10 nm cards. It is not profitable to mine with those cards. ROI is more than one year.

well deserved. They fork their coin when Bitmain releases ASIC for the public, but let them mine in private. clap clap

So true and that is my point, they should block bitmain, before bitmain sell anything to the public.

2 hours after the fork and there is only 8 new blocks. It is supposed to be 60 blocks. So the hash rate is just 13% of the original hash rate. It means 87% of the old hash could be ASIC or botnet or the  GPU have not changed to V7.
