Re: [ANN][ICO] Delphi: The Post-Gnosis Prediction Market Platform
by

on 16/07/2017, 16:38:48 UTC

I guess this is a funny joke as whoever or whatever created THIS are really big fans of Gnosis I guess Grin Grin Grin
This project is 1:1 copy of the Gnosis code from GitHub  BUT removed all references to Gnosis and Gnosis' team and replaced it to delphi.network  Shocked
Even they did fake Autor (@alanlu ) where they changed his email so that it would appear that he would be a member of their team! VERY SMART!
One more interesting fact is that the whitepaper looks like Gnosis discussion  Grin  What a read!
The team is anonymous and no one never heard of them a month ago  BUT they want to collect  250k ETH!!! Good appetite I can say!
And a "professional" team is ready to pay 20$ referral bonus - of course how else they can earn money and get attention Grin

I hope other forum members will realise that nothing is behind that "project" and won't do a mistake they will regret later.

Did you even visit their github? I'm nervous about this one, especially the anonymity, but lets not tell lies.
Their github states:

"NOTICE: THIS REPOSITORY SIMPLY REPRESENTS A BRIDGE FRAMEWORK TO MAINTAIN BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY WITH EXISTING GNOSIS INTERFACES, WHICH HAS BEEN EXPLAINED IN OUR WHITEPAPER AS WELL AS OTHER PUBLIC COMMUNICATION CHANNELS. IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT INCUMBENT PREDICTION MARKET PLATFORMS ARE ATTEMPTING TO SLANDER DELPHI.MARKETS BY IMPLYING THAT WE HAVE 'STOLEN' CODE, DESPITE THE REFERENCE CODE IN QUESTION BEING LICENSED UNDER THE GPL. PLEASE DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE, AND EXERCISE CRITICAL THOUGHT."

I don't think this project is a scam, but for sure the anonymity may harm them, but who knows, it worked for bitcoin

Well, I don't stop you, you even can sell your house, take ALL you savings and INVEST in this project  Grin

I'm not saying this will succeed or fail. I'm purely calling you out on your misinformation.

Whoever wants to participate in testnet, there will be free test token giveaways, where we will test blockchain and oracle masternodes functionality.

Last news from Dev team is that Wagerr Masternodes will be very similar to Dash's system.

Well that would be a mistake because most of the nodes on the Dash pass through NSA servers.

Have fun with that!

That's a pretty interesting claim. Got a source for that?
Masternodes will be configured by the individual and be running open source software so any NSA involvement would be pretty obvious.
If I'm lucky enough to get a node on the network you can be damn well sure it wont be talking to the NSA.

edit: Also, remember the NSA only operate in the good old land of the 'free'. Just get a VPS and host in another country. That's the beauty of decentralisation.

Wow the selling has been huge on this. The buy walls at the 2000 satoshi level have almost disappeared.

I don't think there has been any news about this being listed on any exchange yet except for dex ?

You're correct. its just Waves for the time being.
My advice would be to pick up some cheap tokens on Waves DEX and hold for at least 6 months

The constant Fud tells me, this project has potential Cheesy
Asking to be put on a big exchange is a FUD?  Which planet are you from?

A big exchange is not necessary at this point in time. It wouldn't add anything to the project.
It may have been better for Wagerr to not issue the waves tokens at all and to release them all when mainnet goes live on the bigger exchanges.
High volume trading would only benefit those that are after a quick sell and that's not what an ICO should aim for

its already trading well below ICO price

It's trading under *some* of the ICO price. Remember that the initial buy in for rounds 1-10 was $0.05 *and* a lot of people got bonus coins.
The initial selling is people cashing in free tokens.
Less than 25% of the tokens have been withdrawn from the wagerr.com site to the Waves platform.
Face it, the majority of people are holding as they have faith in the project.
It's *far* to early to write this one off.

Morning all,

After reading some of the FUD posts and the general questions being posted on here I thought I'd write a quick article explaining some of the details of Wagerr as I see them.

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@durbin/wagerr-the-story-so-far-an-opinion-piece

I hope some people might find this useful.

Thanks

Good blog, thank you

Thanks. That's appreciated

Getting on a decent exchange is still going to help with marketing and getting the word out, one of the stated objectives. Not only that, but it is, or should be, an obligation to the investors to provide them with a good option for liquidating their investment should they choose it is no longer for them or if personal situation calls for it.

Liquidation is not an obligation. Have a look at Tezos for example. They have no buy-back plans and wont be on an exchange for 4 months minimum.
Investment in an ICO is a long process. Just because some have allowed pumping and dumping this should not be the model

Any plan to list this on a bigger exchange with decent trading volume that Waves Dex, Cling ICO finish around thesame time with Wagerr ICO, and now on bigger exchange. Wagerr team need to look to put this on bigger exchange for exposure

We dont need a fucking exchange.
You morons dont have what it takes to participate into an ICO like wagerr.
Sell your bags on waves or maybe it's too complicated for you ?
Just sell and let this thread, After you people ask 50x the same questions during ici now it's when polo?? When bittrex ?? when can I get 50000000% return ??

Tell me why not you moron?
Will it be bad for Wagerr to get more publicity? Because it will once it hits a major exchange.
Do you want wagerr's price to go below ICOs price? Because it will if it stays only on Waves' DEX.

Check out my previous post. I've tried to clear up the exchange issue.
There's a quote in there from the dev as well.

in the slack channel they will ban you for asking uncomfortable questions, such as

  • when will this go on a real exchange?
  • why can other ICOs get it listed on proper exchanges and you cant?
  • when can we expect updates?
  • whats gonna happen between now and main net release

devs literally claim that other ICOs used bribes and shady deals to get their coins listed on bigger exchanges... and thats the reason why other ICOs can get listed on a good exchange and they cant!!!

there is so many red flags with this project, I cant believe people are still defending it
then of course you got all these users with broken english shilling for it nonstop (probably paid)

Id dump this coin right now but cant even get rid off it, because theres ZERO volume on waves
theres literally a trade like every 30 minutes and the price is already tanking

yet somehow the devs claim it had 50k dollar volume yesterday

we literally have nothing here and are expected to just twiddle our thumbs until the mainnet goes online. no updates no nothing. devs can take the money and run at any minute since their company is set up in belize, so we have zero legal repercussions.

david mah and team if you are not scammers, you are doing a TERRIBLE job communicating with your user base. tons of people have voiced concerns and you just wave them off or flat out ban them and refuse to answer questions

to anyone invested in this coin, youve been warned

inb4 the usuall (barely literate) shills go "lol you just wanna drive the price down" and how "shits gonna moon" even though they have absolutely nothing to back those claims up

Right. A few points:

I invested in Wagerr during the ICO. Other than that I have no affiliation with them.
I have been pretty active in the slack for the last few weeks though and have a handle on whats going on.

In terms of your above points:
  • when will this go on a real exchange?: Waves DEX is a real exchange. The WGR token will be listed on more 'mainstream' exchanges when the wallet is live
  • why can other ICOs get it listed on proper exchanges and you cant?: Waves tokens are a bit different to your standard coin and the exchanges handle them differently. The 'real' coin will be listed on more exchanges
  • when can we expect updates?: The updates are coming every day if you actually hang out on slack and chat with the team
  • whats gonna happen between now and main net release: They are working on testnet before mainnet

All of these questions have been answered MULTIPLE times on slack and no one shys away from them.
The slack does get a bit sick of people joining and asking the same questions repeatedly without researching them, which is why they have pinned posts and an FAQ site.

The money is also in escrow so the team can't take the money and run.

A lot of people seemed to think the ICO would give them 10x profit overnight because they didn't  do their research so they are frustrated and want to blame the team, or waves, or whatever else they can think of.

All these ICOs are a risk, but after reading the whitepaper, getting to know the team, and hanging out on slack this is really good project, but will take time to come to market.
This was never designed to make ICO buyers rich very quickly, it's about developing a good and fair betting platform.

The vocal minority are spreading FUD whereas most people are happy holding after actually doing their research.

Wait wasn't Mandiago part of the team ?

I came across his profile and had sent him a message few days back. Just logged in to see this:

WTF?

If its a scam, David Man is risking a lot being a doctor. He can be reported to the medical board if its a scam (www.medicalboard.gov.au)

lol you've been warned ..

Ah, and in turn become de-registered practitioner

This has been debunked by the Wagerr team.
I suspect this is either rival betting companies or whales trying to spread FUD.
Needless to say its complete garbage and David certainly isn't a scammer.
If you have any doubt, join the slack
