Please add Coinye http://coinyeco.in/

There are a ton of people mining it.  Just do a google search of Coinye and look at all the press.  This coin is going to blow up.

Seriously, the ONLY thing that matters right now is getting it on a exchange.  After that you can worry about everything else. People won't use a coin that there is no exchange for.  Yes you can send it from one person to another.  But lets be honest here, most of the miners who are throwing all this power to the network want money/another coin.  If their is no way for them to do that, people take their hashing power elsewhere and the coin loses credibility because there is no one is mining it.  It is kinda the chicken and egg issue.

Not sure if this is "normal".  I seem to be getting shares a LOT slower then when I am mining anything else.  Is there something in my config that I might need to change? This is for a 7950 that mines at 630

color 02
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://rlcpool.erundook.net:3338 -u xxxxx -p xxxx -s 1 --expiry 1 --queue 0 --thread-concurrency 21712 --intensity 17 --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -g 1

So, instead of getting raped by GPU farms, we are now getting raped by multi-CPU server farms Huh

No, just the CPUs on GPU farms. Smiley

Probably you're getting raped by GPU farms, too.  You don't need to change the kernel from cgminer or reaper all that much to GPU mine this coin right now, and at the current value of N I would wager that most GPUs get 1000+ KH/s.

Wrong... it isn't using standard scrypt algo... you can mine with gpu but non of your shares will be accepted by the network.

I'm aware it's running block header hashes with keccak and chacha20 -- but all you need to do is port them to GPU kernel that comes with cgminer/reaper.
https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/scrypt130302.cl

The keccak/chacha20 implementation he took from scrypt-jane is here
https://github.com/floodyberry/scrypt-jane/blob/master/code/scrypt-jane-hash_keccak.h
https://github.com/floodyberry/scrypt-jane/blob/master/code/scrypt-jane-mix_chacha.h

Edit: You need to play with the lookup_gap and thread_concurrency to get the best performance, too.

The nfactor thing is quite easily ported, I had made the nFactor worked with cgminer, however i have no experience dealing with opencl and nor do i speak scrypt (or keccak, chacha) fluently.

Non programmer butting in.  Are any of you actually mining on gpu's at this point or are you just brainstorming what you can do to compile it so it should work?

Ok,

bbq,btb and cnc explorers are back up.

I cannot tell if it is an attack or not, the service is so widely used.

I was going to start banning some IPs, but it is hard to tell what is malicious activity verses somebody or a site that uses the service alot.

They are back down again:(

Re: BFL Wafer Broke?
by

OK, maybe my memory is not serving me well...

Didn't they basically "waste" a whole wafer testing when the testing rig didn't work? Then they had another wafer, which is probably where the ones made so far came from.

Pretty sure that is all they had?

Yes they "burned"(no clue wtf that actually means) their first wafer just to make sure the logic and cores worked properly. They(the Asic designers not BFL) setup a chip(s) in a test rig without bumping it.  There are some pictures out there showing the chip with wires and crap coming out of it.  (I might be using the wrong terminology for this stuff, please don't flame).  From what I remember that wafer had better results then the other chips that were bumped and put on the 5 gh boards/Luke's unit coming from the other wafer.

Again, this is just my understanding of the situation.  I just go by what I have read.

Back on topic.  There are no broken wafers.  I think OP somehow got confused with the wafer that was burned months ago for testing.

/thread

This can be closed now or moved to off topic since it's turned into another bfl troll/fanboy thread.

Then why did the status suddenly go from waiting on boards to waiting on the next batch of chips? Are the yields complete shit? Last I knew, the chips were fine and they were just waiting on boards. But now they're waiting for another batch of chips. What happened with the last batch?

From the information I have seen, and yes it's confusing as all hell, so don't take this as some sort of definitive answer.  The chips that they did/do have have gone into/are going into the 5 gh machines.  I think in terms of the next "batch" they are talking about the "big" 75 wafer order.

This is from Josh from the shoutbox on 5/1

"I believe the boards are done, but we're waiting on the next set of chips. Should have that by the end of the week. Still will need to get the firmware to talk to the new boards, but that should be fairly trivial. Assuming no issues with the PCB on an electrical/physical level, we might be able to start shipment of LS/Singles next week."

Going by this and BFL time, i doubt we will see any little/big singles shipping for at least 3 weeks or more.

I only came into this thread because i knew there wasn't a broken wafer, and give people waffles.

Re: BTC is down because all the alt coins are taking resources away from it

Besides the very small amount of businesses that accept Litecoin, all of the alt-coins are useless.  The are used for only ONE thing, and that is to speculate to TRADE FOR BITCOINS!

Ok so yeah, miners are flocking to altcoins.  Do you REALLY think there is a problem with the hash rate on the bitcoin network at this point?? Have you actually looked at how fast the hash rate is going UP?  Asic's are taking over and the gpu miners are looking for alternatives to "get more bitcoins".  Take a look, http://coinchoose.com/  Should I mine bitcoins or feathercoins right now?  Anyone with half a brain would mine feathercoins because i get 2.4 times the amount of bitcoins after trading them(at the time of this post).

The altcoins to most people are just a get "bitcoin" rich quicker scheme.

Altcoins is the last thing you can blame for anything negative happening to Bitcoins.

The regular units will be come with brown boxes outside of the BFL boxes from what I have read.  If not. Please post your order date, name, address and tracking # in reply to this so I can make sure your package arrives safe Roll Eyes
