Does anyone care about the environment?

If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.

Over 1,000 scientists from 25 countries took part in the Scientist Rebellion's demonstrations over a week ago.

Do you believe this has effect on the market? On the prices of bitcoin?

Bitcoin has no intrinsic value
by

Is it really the best way to invest your money?

Because of the way Bitcoin generates value or becomes more expensive, it could potentially lose all its value and became worthless.
Who assures you that this will not happen?

Twitter is considering a corporate defense tactic to fend off Musk.
They are considering launching the so-called 'poison pill', a maneuver aimed at avoiding an unwanted acquisition offer, due to the irregularities Elon Musk has committed after his purchase offer.

Some opt to safe it in USB, on their laptops locking it with more keys which I think is a good idea but as everything you have the risk of being robbed or erase the data by mistake.

Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption?
by
e-lite.io
on 14/04/2022, 16:58:21 UTC
the three main things that are hindering world wide adoption are:

1. over 50% of the world are on low income. meaning their minimum wage is less than half of the minimum wage of developed countries

this is important because if the transaction fee is ~$1.60 (lows over $1 highs over $3 at time of post)
https://api.blockchain.info/charts/preview/fees-usd-per-transaction.png?timespan=30days&h=405&w=720

where for instance people do not want to be paying an hours labour just to make a transaction.
nor do they want to be paying 10% fee just to spend say $16 funds. ..  meaning they wont use it to buy things for $2-$15 which could be a few days worth of wages or a whole weeks worth of groceries for millions of people
..
there are many corporate/political aligned people in the community that do not want bitcoin to be used by the poorest nations. do not want bitcoin to be used for daily use. they make many silly excuses that are meaningless in the 21st century, but they really try hard to dissuade people from using bitcoin and instead try to off-ramp people into other networks

they want expensive fee's and other things that make it less useful. all to advertise their other networks as the replacement/upgrade people should move over to.

I think it's very valuable what's written here.

The richer countries do not consider the poor ones, or they consider them as just that. It's the same tale all over again, the rich become richer and the poor poorer; because that's what benefits this entire system.

Not all countries live under the same circumstances, not all can invest as they pleased into cryptocurrency, in bitcoin as we are talking about here.

I don't believe it is dying, like someone said over here, it's just not happy

And even so, I think that being banned from a good few number of countries, it just makes it more exclusive.

Re: Regulation seem like the only option left

well, it is true that any cryptocurrency enthusiasts fervently oppose new regulations. They say it would hinder innovation and goes against the spirit of cryptocurrency, which emphasizes decentralization at its core.

and for these anti-regulation crypto enthusiasts, the decentralized nature of digital currencies is a big draw. So in this view, any new regulation would pose a threat to the decentralization that is a feature, rather than a bug.

México, Brasil y Colombia serán los «ganadores» del conflicto ucraniano
by

I think it makes sense if you based on the stages of life according to age. I mean, when you are young (maybe between 18-35) it's probable that you put your focus on work and not really planning for longevity until you reach certain age (perhaps past 40).
And it depends on the culture under which you are governed; some educate you to make financial plans for the long term, others concentrate on surviving just now.

Cryptocurrency Monitoring in the Ukrainian War
by
e-lite.io
on 22/03/2022, 20:03:17 UTC
The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is closely scrutinising the use of crypto assets during the Ukraine war, over concerns they could be used to evade the western sanctions on Russia.

Some cryptocurrency exchanges have rejected calls to cut off all Russian users, raising concerns that cryptocurrencies could be used as a way to avoid sanctions.

Ukraine has also raised millions of dollars in cryptocurrency after posting calls on social media for donations in bitcoin and other digital tokens.

John Glen, British Minister for Financial Services, said that the measures already taken by the UK to subject crypto assets to anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing restrictions will support crypto asset law enforcement.

Do you believe they are taking the corresponding actions? Do they need better policies to control cryptocurrencies in specific situations, such as the war in Ukraine?

Towards the definitive popularization in the payment with bitcoins
by
e-lite.io
on 12/03/2022, 13:56:25 UTC
Stripe goes to cryptocurrencies: towards the definitive popularization in the payment with bitcoins.

Stripe is the company that reinvented payment gateways and completely revolutionized the market. And now they have a new battlefield: cryptocurrencies. Stripe has already flirted with cryptocurrencies in the past, but the commitment now announced by its CEO goes much further. An important step that can revolutionize the cryptocurrency sector and brings users closer to making payment with them in a daily basis

The star of the fintech sector goes to cryptocurrencies. Stripe's rise has been meteoric and this company is considered the great star of Silicon Valley in the fintech sector, with a valuation of over 100,000 million dollars. Like Paypal, Stripe is also serious about cryptocurrencies and they have a huge trump card in their favor.

Stripe is a company that allows other companies to create payment gateways. More than 200,000 companies in Europe work with Stripe and their payments, transfers or fund transfers are managed by Stripe.

It's not just Stripe, but all the companies that work with them. The importance of this movement is precisely the great impact that Stripe has in the management of payments for many companies, from Globo to Under Armour, through services such as Booking, Shopify or DocuSign.

A very capable ally and well seen by regulators. Stripe is a company that has what it takes to help popularize cryptocurrency payments.

The decentralization of cryptocurrencies has always been considered one of the most relevant features. But one thing is the blockchain-based protocol itself and another is its management and exchange. That is where the States want responsible entities that "control" the flows of movement. And platforms like Stripe's can be a solution to monitor these tokens and these cryptocurrencies, without losing sight of when they go from one address to another.
