Or I could just buy the coins and start staking them while you sink money into hardware and wait a year to get your money back. I will also buy shares in the power company that your electricity costs are funding my dividends.

Now, take note all aspiring scammers. See how they are controlling the price on the exchange from their premine?
They are not allowing it below their pre-determined value.
Low emission combined with a carefully set mn collateral and they will make good coins.
Generic website, no meaningful use cases for the coin yet, quick listing on exchanges.
Github coins specs don't match what's on the announcement.
No mention of premine wallet address so investors can track project spending.
Big red flags for a likely masternode ponzi scheme.
Project goal should state: Get in quick and watch the suckers after you pour their coins into your wallet.

Re: [ANN] [POW] [POS] KETOsis Coin- 400% [ROI] annually! 🆕
by

This coin is pointless. 400% POS and POW is just creating a huge amount of coins with no buyers. Better would be to have a POW period while building up a tangible use-case for the coin, then introduce the high POS time so user could benefit from hodling it and spending it.
Just because it's tied to the latest diet fad won't make it valuable.
And the coin team has no investors, trying to scrape donations from miners who want to sell their coins for a larger exchange.
I'm dumping it all and moving on to something interesting.
I'm sure in a few months we'll see this dead coin on a swap platform.
Good luck everyone else.

Same as before, never buy MN on presale, and you will never feel sorry when a scam happen

Agreed. If the founders have not enough of their own money to list on exchanges & monitoring sites, they have no business starting a project. Anyone asking for presale funds before exchange listing is 99% scam or doomed for project failure.
A lot of these scam assholes are just starting new coins and repeating it over and over. If the coin is hard to mine, POS/MN only or they are asking some ridiculus presale amounts ($ thousands), it's likely a scam.

I still don't understand the value of this project, other than high ROI off masternodes. Price only spikes when people need to buy more coins for setting up masternodes, then it dives when people are cashing out. In a month or so when max reward is reached, people will be dumping like crazy. This looks like yet another ponzi coin to me. Being listed on exchanges & listing sites only helps owners dump their coins. What is the progress of the project? Nothing yet. I will stay far away from this one.

Presale, MN only, no POW, vague goals, quick exchange listing for devs to dump their coins onto greedy noobs.
Yup, this is another one at 10 sats in a few weeks.

There Will Be Only 21 Million Coins In Hilux. Very Limited. No More Will Be Produced. HODL.

1 Hilux Masternode which requires 1000 HLX coins

Helps The Economy Of Countries Facing HyperInflation

How exactly will holding this coin help the economy of countries facing hyperinflation if there is no exchange to trade it for other coins or currency?

And limited supply just limits inflation of coins, but doesn't prevent the coin price from going to 1 sat.

I wish the best for this coin, but if there is no other utility other than to store it or trade it, most miners will dump it. Then having pennies worth of coins won't help any economy.

But the web wallet is a great user adoption idea.

No one could take away my Hilux Coins because it is hardcoded inside the Hilux Blockchain. i see a really great potential

Unless you get hacked and your wallet gets stolen if not encrypted or you lose it. These are some ways to take away your coins.

What a great coin! Super interesting concept that's never been tried before: POS & MN. Genius. Investors, get your wallets ready and don't miss out. We are not just a regular scam coin. Get in now and get the money from the poor suckers that buy after you. We will be around for another 2-3 weeks. Don't worry about a product, we aren't. Don't be a bag holder. Hurry.  Cheesy

Lying is quite wrong either way. Whether smaram lied about ever having the FPGA, or is lying now trying to cover up the scam.

Fallacy of the excluded middle: it is entirely possible he is telling the truth, and was scammed just like the rest of these poor suckers. Now please consider this:

https://imgur.com/aRET8GD

I too want to see the pics he has promised (there, and at other times), but I do not take his standoffish response to accusations here as being at all unexpected or unnatural, when he has been dealing with such for a couple of weeks now.

Compound that with the stress of moving company headquarters out of country (that is why he has been in Berlin), and it's all pretty understandable to me; I've been out of country for months at a time, and cannot imagine the frustration of being put in the situation he is being put in here.

Furthermore, occam's razor for me says it is just highly unlikely that someone preoccupied with running one of the more successful and complex cryptonote projects would want to get involved with some stupid scam, in such a public way, with no escape route.

In the end, what are the facts regarding Saber? He claims to have been shipped the unit he ordered, he said that it worked, but not well, and he said he would provide pics when he returns home. Could he have been shipped the unit? Why not -- the dwarf scammers obviously had one "working" prototype (which just remote-controlled a rig, imho), which they could easily have shipped to him, after creating their now-deleted youtube videos.

That explanation fits the facts just fine, and is what I will be going with until presented with some actual evidence to the contrary.

I think the purpose here is to try to track down the scammers. Will we ever get the money back? Maybe not, but it would be good to try. Otherwise we become rationalizing sheep.

Questions still remain. How did he get knowledge of the unit to be shipped a prototype? Was it on the same web store that he got informed of before anyone else did? Was there a tracking number from the courier? What was the pick-up address from the courier? Which country? And so on. IF he had the device it would be helpful to provide some details on where to track where this device came from. If he never had the device, let him claim so. So far he's defensive, which is normal for someone scared of being accused as an accessory to a $2M crime of theft. But avoiding honest questions or being dodgy makes people suspicious and assume the worst.

i kindly believe smaram is victim too.

just talk friendly please, he s not bad person.

Something still seems odd here. He must have known the scammers in one way or another to order a prototype unit. And he's very defensive about it, shifting blame. He may be a victim, but the victim is not cooperating very much to reveal information about how they obtained these units and whether they actually exist. At least some people ordered the units because he said he actually had one, regardless of how badly it worked.

If we're getting the police involved, they should talk to this guy first. It seems he is the closest to the scammers here. He may not have been part of the scam but may lead police to the scammers. Even if they sold half of their dwarfminers, 2500 units, that's still about a $2 million theft at BTC prices middle of June.

i did not claim smaram guilty here,  i just stated he has it ,  and there is such device.
people here thinks there was no device, never existed.

yes i was mad at him once, then i said i m sorry for it.

at least i am expecting the cargo details, to track scammers.
when he s back , he ll tell us. right ?

these are private talks that shows,  there is such device,  and he warned me about being careful about it

i had taken the risk according to these talks, if it works for 20 mins and if i restart it then , if booting up takes 5 minutes
so even it works for 45 minutes in one hour,
and even under 75% capacity , i m ok with it

i dont claim him guilty.

Actually it sounds like he's part of the scam in some way. Or at least he knows the people who shipped this alleged miner to him. Either way, point the police his way first.

Come on where is the team? again with this project no team!!would you invest your hard earned money in a company and you don't even know to whom you giving your money to?If you really want to get rid of your money give it to charity or something...

That's because it is another scam coin. Ask about the purpose of the coin and developers will either ban you or point you to their website, which says nothing other than making money from POS and Masternodes. There is no real purpose other than a Ponzi scheme.
Pre-sale is over, MN block reward is nearing maximum, so the coin will be worthless in 2 weeks and scammers will rinse and repeat on another coin.

Save your money, invest in a real project.

Scam-o-meter readings:

> 0.5 BTC Presale --- check
< 5 post Twitter --- check
Vague/meaningless details roadmap --- check
MN/POS value proposition only --- check
No dates on roadmap ---check
Newbie BT account --- check
MNO & Graviex only listing --- check

Other checks:
Quality of MN setup guide --- not bad
Ponzi-meter reading --- very high

Scam-o-meter results ---------> 99% scam probability.

Hopefully this is a real project, but scam-o-meter reads too many checks.

Predict price 10 sats in 2 weeks & developers gone from BT & Discord.

What is the status of shipping these orders? Or should I assume this was a scam all along like the rest of the posters here thought?

They probably set up a few shell subsidiaries to run these miners, so it wasn't really their company doing any mining. I wouldn't discount another possibility: there may also be other companies that developed their own (or contracted out the developement of) ASIC/FPGAs and had no intention of selling to the public or revealing they even have these machines, and were mining with them. Once the fork occurred, they also got kicked off mining on the new chain.
