Re: Open Source XPM (Primecoin) GPU Miner & Pool xpmforall.org

Hey guys. Need your experience on this.

I recently changed to Win7 in order to try to get a stable build for my 5 GPU rig.

I'm using 5 AMD RX480 GPUs on this rig with Driver 16.9.2 and it looks very stable so far. The only problem is, the driver doesn't seem to recognize a 5th GPU, it only sees 4 of them.

I know that the issue is not a bad riser or the Motherboard. I had been able to run 5 GPUs on Win10 before but it eventually crashed after just 30 minutes or so. The difference was that I was able to hook up al 5 GPUs before.

Now, Windows7 can see all 5 cards on Device Manager, also I can see all 5 with GPU-Z. It seems that my problem is that I can't get the driver to manage all 5 cards. Wattman and can only see 4 of them.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I'm trying to run 5 RX480 on a Win 10 machine, AMD blockchain driver using xpmclient-10.2.2 with these parameters:

sieveSize = 420
weaveDepth = 40960
windowSize = 8192
multiplierLimits = 24, 31, 35

The rest are set in their default values.

It runs for around 2 hours and then it crashes. Anyone got a hint of how I can fix this?

How long do the stats take to show up on coinsforall.org?
I've been mining for a while still displays all 0.

Hey goatpig, thanks for all your efforts. 0.96.1 has fixed many of the problems I had to get Armory running.

Now, there's two potential bugs I've found using the new version. The forst time I ran 0.96.1, all the addresses I've been using on an old wallet appeared on the "Unused Addresses", even though many of them had been used already. After sending a few txs, this seemed to be corrected.

The second point for which I'll provide a pastebin link, is I can't use the Bump Fee function.

Here's the armorylog pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/hxCKzedr

Again, thank you for all your work.

Also, there's a bug while online, I'm sorry if this has been talked about before.

While online, after importing a Lockbox, the imported Lockbox won't appear on the list of Lockboxes available. You need to restart Armory to be able to use it. I'm using both Ubuntu 16.04 and Win7.

Is there a way to open the Lockbox Manager while using Armory Offline v0.96? I used to be able to do this using Armory 0.93.2.

Through week #1 today. So far so good. I wish i could change frequencies and fan speeds though.

Only complain was a "slow" fan wich was causing a miner to overheat. I had spare fans from a few S7 lying around, so problem was quickly fixed.

Anybody knows where can I buy replacement fans? Bitmain page is sold until after Chinese New year.
For one, check Bitmain Warranty in CO. http://bitmainwarranty.com/ They carry them and being the USA they are open right now.

Thanks man.

Anybody else had problems with defective fans? I have a new miner that overheats. All I can see is one of the fans won't run above 1900 rpm.

Could it be some other problem besides the fan?

I received a T9 with what seems to be a defective fan. It starts hashing and soon it overheats. One of the fans does not go above 1900rpm.

I mean, the problem with 100% fan is in MSI AfterBurner.
I skip on Sapphire TriXX. 10 hours without problem (RX480 8GB).

What driver version do you use?

My rig keeps restarting on win10.

Anybody who's tried both the Linux and Windows builds can say which one is faster?

I have RX 480s and RX 470s.

I keep reading rx480 GPUs can give up to 730 H/s but so far I've only ben able to squeeze 640 H/s on a Sapphire Nitro RX 480 8GB.

Anyone know how to acieve this? Any specific mod or config for the -a and -h value?

So, if we setup a z_address we need to setup a t_address and start fresh?

Re: XT as Incentive for Bitcoin Core Nodes
by
eduardo_rc

I see XT as a terrible way of doing something that is needed. There clearly was no consensus prior release.

A central group of developers agreeing is not consensus.  It doesn't matter whether core devs all agree or not because it isn't their sole decision.  Anyone can release a client without prior approval because this is not a closed-source project.  The network decides, not the developers.  If you want a coin where the developers make all the decisions and the users have no choice, there are plenty of closed-source projects out there you might prefer.

Please see the last paragraph of this post and my post here for further reasoning because I'm getting tired of repeating myself about this.

I wish the Core devs would come to a compromise soon so we can relax & all the panic that's arose from the current situation will evaporate

If there's panic, it's only from those who don't understand how simple this really all is.  Again, it doesn't matter if the core devs compromise or not because it's not their sole decision.  They are not in charge.  We do not need their permission.  Running an alternative client doesn't give the developers of that client "control" of the network.  Please try to understand this simple fact.

I completely agree with what you're saying and with the posts that you mention. But there's defenitiy a bigger picture here. Hearn was talkin about a "developer dictatorship" very openly, even asked Wladimir to take full control. This is not only about bigger blocks. This is an open discussion about governance. XT, Gavin and Hearn represent the "discussion is over, let's take control of the situation our own way" side of the debate. And sadly, on that side of the debate, the negotiation is over. Now it's (to my eyes) a popularity contest. Whoever has more followers will end up saying from now on how bitcoin will be developed, hence the change in governance.

A developer dictatorship is exactly what we're getting from XT. Even if I'm wrong, if XT succceeds, the precedent it establishes is "Changes won't be discussed and analyzed, they will be implemented no matter the risk". And you're fooling yourself if you believe there are no risks involved with the XT implementation.

Like I said, I'm all for block-size increase, but not this way.

I urge people to start running BTC Core nodes, even if they don't mine. Even if at the end this doesn't help, it sends a pretty clear message to the comunity, specialy when the nodes metrics have been going down.

Also, you can do this:
