people selling pnd for 0.00000012 ltc ...that is totaly mad..you cant even pay fraction off power bill for mining with that price..guess some people like to pay to mine

Guess what? Wolong and crew are either doing this themselves or paying people to do this. It is revenge for killing their coin. Remember that wolong bought a ton (500M+) of PND in its infancy, who knows how many he had when he put his plan into action.

So perhaps the only surprising thing then - in a good way - is the existence of this coin in the first place.

And now we have bees. Bees! Possibly the most scientifically impossible of all god's creatures. And yet, here they are. Sipping away at the sweet, sweet nectar. It does look these days as if the alt-coin sector is depressed all around. But the humble, hardworking bee must surely be a positive addition.

Committed devs. A rambunctious, active, and even mostly good-hearted, community with new direction and ideas. I hardly needed to turn up at all today. And yet, somehow. PandaCoin PND. All the potential is yours.

p2pool does not support random block rewards, as such running one will pollute the blockchain with undervalued coins. I chose not to go in this direction after adapting p2pool for PND some days ago, through reading multiple posts on getting the correct settings. I felt that as a miner I'd rather be paid correctly for a block found than be 'short changed' and as a pool operator, didn't like the idea of ripping miners off unintentionally due to to this limitation in p2pool. The maintainer of p2pool seems reluctant to code in support for random block rewards deeming it 'hard'.

Please don't pollute the chain with undervalued coins Sad

Fair point but there seemed to be some demand for it in several posts. I think simply having the option is a good idea. We don't need to actively advertise it.

I also can't stop them from making their own config either.

The demand comes from those who don't fully understand how P2Pool functions, else they'd have worked out the correct settings themselves instead of asking for a copy+pasta version. I'll admit, given my little knowledge of coding, it was quite a challenge for myself to find values that would best suit the network as a whole. It wasn't until I hit the SUBSIDY_FUNC value that the realisation became clear there is no support for random block reward coins and allowing a static value would pollute the chain with undervalued blocks, thus causing people to complain. I can only hope that someone with enough knowledge and free time would port in support for coins that offer this type of reward. Sadly, at this point there appears to be no progress on this ability and forrestv from what I gather, doesn't feel inclined to add support in the future.

I agree that we cannot stop people from making their own config, but we can delay them... at least those who'd rather copy+pasta than actually work out the values for themselves since there are multiple posts here on BT and on github repos detailing how to do so. I apologise if I come across as narky, I'm just just a little OCD with most things. I like cleanliness, conciseness and some level of order...it's one of my weaknesses or strengths however you deem to see it. Cheesy

One final note I should mention, regarding the PREFIX and IDENTIFIER values. They do not need to be the same, as long as the values are of 19 numbers converted into hex, p2pool will function correctly. P2Pool would be good for after block 500,000 since the reward becomes a static 10k value. Until then, I'd steer clear from using P2Pool since you'd get better rewards from a standard pool currently. I guess I kind of knew this day would come, I just hoped it wouldn't...at least not this soon. In a perfect world tho..... Wink

Realistically it can only go up in value.. right? These sell walls at 2 and 3 satoshi are probably a lot of the same people that just bought at 1 satoshi? Just trying to double their money.

PANDA has bounced back today. When PND?

I have mined 20 mil PND and made a sell order at 4, 30 mil PANDA and made a sell order at 11. I still believe that PANDA community is stronger and richer

The problem is that no one is willing to buy in when there's only sell walls at a low price. Right now you're only contributing to what we're experiencing.

updated OP with a brief history of PND and a gambling site

OP looks good. Apologies if I have missed anything but re: 'And since we are never forgetting our roots, one of the major driving factor of our active and devoting community is the establishment of charity support.' who is taking the steps in this direction?

The roots of this coin is all about hating toward Wolong. No buy support any more even at 1 satoshi  Cry This coin is dead on Mintpal

Well, you know. Different strokes.

FUCK HOW DID I MISS YESTERDAY PUMP? I COULD HAVE MADE 5BTC WITH EVEN MY SHITTY AMOUNT OF PND

i just made a sell order at 1000 satoshi so i wont miss it next time!!! if i had 5 btc i could make 10 - 100£ a day!

tell everyone to pump PND!!!!

This isn't a pump and dump coin. It was created to be specifically against that.

Created, but not anymore maintained. Where should the value of this coin come from? Website is plain (and inactive) and there are no new developments. Even the devs are inactive.... Eventhough I'm holding a large bag of my own, I'm getting more convinced this coin is dead in the water.

Only miners are active, no buyers. This is by the way the case for most coins right now. Profits are getting below power costs.

We did have MintPal in here a day or so ago wandering around to provide some momentary entertainment. Eeeksies. I am MintPal. A crypto-currency exchange, lol. I'm sure the future holds a few more twists and turns yet before the banks start opening their windows.

I am currently also interested in how exchanges operate. For example, it seems you can buy a coin onto an exchange. Also, when an exchange itself selects a coin the process might not always be obviously open and transparent - with the result not open to question. And it seems an exchange can also ban as it wishes activity it deems strange and ignore activity it deems not so. Interesting stuff, and useful to know. Different exchanges will no doubt have different criteria.

Into the valley of death, lol. At any rate, I now have more PND and intend to hold my stake and continue to mine for now, whatever the future has to say, if at all, about my efforts.

In other news, a project I am involved with met with one of the local schools this week. Resources aren't always easily available for them and skills also are in short supply. Some former pupils who have the necessary skills will be returning to the school to restore and upgrade the facilities. Not even an NGO in sight. Starting something like this turned out to be fairly straightforward, although there was restructuring of expectations. Nothing gets parachuted in, as it were. And no 'Brewster's Millions' here! All work is done within the community.

Not that we can all be saints, or buddhas, whatever the hell those are anyway! But I do maintain hope in the potential of crypto currencies in these kinds of endeavours.

Anyone remember when PriceWaterhouse changed its name to Monday? If I didn't know people worked there I might have been wondering what they did every other day of the week.

Or how about that mentalist guy on the other channel who visited that ghost house and pierced the veil of illusion over that terrible, terrible place. 'Renfield! Fetch me my hat, cape and 500 satoshi! Die Fledermaus is on again tonight. Oh-ho, how I love that little fellow!'

Anyhow, lots of interesting discussion about logos here. And some nice pictures, if they aren't logos, on display. With a particularly nice one on reddit with a mother and baby panda, a crane, water - a river? - the moon, somewhere lower down, I think.

I like the way the community is thinking and changing here with new inclusions every day. But wasn't it only yesterday this coin was still fighting a war? Mind you, did you see the UK Olympics ceremony? What a refreshing change. Although I expect I would have been just as happy if more Gurkhas had been included. I wonder what Rio will be bringing in 2016.

I think mintpal's paid votes system is nothing short of a scam.
No point in actual voting if 1 BTC buys you 20,0000 votes.

Having said that, both sides are wrong, you guys and UTC's could have just come to an Agreement and saved a helluva lot of money instead of filling Mintpal's owners' pockets..

For instance, you could have let UTC win (since their main exchange, Crypto-Trade, was hacked and is gonna be offline for a long time), at the condition UTCers would help you with votes in the next few days.

With both teams voting, it would have been a sure thing.

agree completely

  CORRECT !!!!
I'm stuck in the middle on this one i been voting 1 and 1 all week was going to throw BTC at it but can honestly say it doesn't seem worth it right now !!!
I  was mining PND from day 1 with 3.2 mhs go back look at my old posts on this thread if you think I'm trolling , I'm also original UTC stakeholder !
I hope both coins get on mint and if its close next week i will throw BTC at it but this week its a hard call and seems a waste of BTC !!!!

I am no longer checking back on the UTC  thread and am currently intending to sell my UTC coins if they hit Mintpal. Might even buy some PND.

Back to human endeavours. I was slightly 'i don't know' about the alternate logo posted also. That panda was up to something. Is that the right impression? At any rate, events have been rapid so why not pause for thought. Although there is something to be said for momentum.

From its humble beginnings at the edge of the world - at times like this I ought not to use my wink function - this coin has become something upon which events might turn. Events are always turning, of course, but that's another story, lol.

The community that has gathered around PandaCoin [PND] should be congratulated for what has been achieved so far, and each day continues to be achieved. Particularly bearing in mind events in other quarters. It's almost enough to make one wish for multiple incursions from the many angled ones, lol. Not something seen from this coin at any point, I might add.

A brief note on PandaWars whilst in passing. There has been some concern noted on the so called god mode function present in the game. There is no such function, of course. And, at times, it can really be quite confounding how stories to the contrary are so readily lapped up. Human endeavours are far more interesting.

Reavers are gonna reave. I mined, held and bought myself. If I fall off my mattress I fall off my mattress, lol. In the meantime there's enough reward in mining this coin for me. And as this coin has already shown so far it has more to offer than most, I wouldn't mind seeing what the community can achieve. It certainly has more honest aims than others.

In most definitely other news, I see the latest episode of Banshee is out. Now there's an idea for a coin. Doubtless by now it's already been taken.

I'm liking this coin and the Panda spirit seen here more and more. Who knows what the future holds - apart from entropy and death, oh, and the perpetual escape attempts, of course, lol - but seeing a community working positively and constructively together in a common cause in those moments it gets? I'm fairly sure I've seen worse.

Hold, of course. Even if only for my own entertainment, for now Smiley Although, I'll still be cashing out when those sponsorships come up.

Happy, smiling children in their new school uniforms, or getting whichever more appropriate opportunities circumstances have previously denied them that haven't just been parachuted in several hours East of GMT. Always the money shot. At least I think that's what I meant just there. Thanks, PandaCoin [PND]. Onward.
