IGNORE THEM

Will do. That person on Reddit was even considering using their funds to burn the AGES tokens. Glad I avoided that too.

Thanks!

You are brilliant! Thank you.

At least I'm not the only one. And I don't understand the point of taking all the time needed to create a token and then for it to just be a dead end. Seems pointless.

What is this mystery deposit of AGES to my alt wallet (marked as spam)?
by

Questions: Does anyone have experience with "smart assets" or hopefully even finding out how to cash out of this token I received? Has anyone had a mystery deposit before?

I saw an alt trading in the top 50 on the app that I use. Didn't know much about them and decided to try their wallet (which offers a some features I thought I'd use). A deposit marked "AGES" dropped out of nowhere into my wallet a few days ago and then it was marked as spam.

I searched for the AGES name. Wallets, exchanges, etc. Couldn't (and still haven't) found a thing. Not an airdrop. Nothing. So I asked customer service for my wallet, and they said:

"You will not use the token for fraudulent purposes. You will not set a script on a smart asset that limits exchange transactions on Waves DEX by asset quantity."

I felt like they thought I was trying to scam them or something. Well, I didn't create the (*#&% thing, so there's that.

Anyway, here's the transaction (as proof I'm not trying to mislead anyone):

This is the transaction on the explorer: https://wavesexplorer.com/tx/5Z8Rz1nKuVAQuMLCruFYeuQzCLCgoWrQ9Bd45h6HoRAt

They even have a nice little motto that I tried to search for with no relevant results. I haven't seen it mentioned in the threads here either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why does my BS meter go on high level for this one? Undecided

I wouldn't even trust clicking on the link.
It will probably copy over some btc address when you are trying to send from your wallet. Sad

I'm the creator of Bitcoin Paranoid and I added recently this exchange to my app. These guys are great. -- ~~~~

iOS or Android app, maybe?

I liked Cryptonit two years ago and just recently discovered they had a facelift. The GUI looks great!

"When it's open, you assist the network."

I just set up the app 1 week ago and reinstalled it again yesterday, but this time correctly. That's why I'm asking you, "how does anyones personal computer help assist the network by running the app ?"

How does that work ?

For one, you add to the list of clients that provide confirmations to the network.

I have also been told that fees are distributed to open clients, but I've never seen a fee deposit in my client.

I keep mine open 24/7. It doesn't eat up too much system resources. If it does, maybe you need more RAM.

I don't believe clients get fees from transactions...you might be thinking of a seed node. That's a client on a computer somewhere that has its port 52333 open on the firewall so it can accept incoming connections. There's a maintenance bounty of 0.2 shares/mo if you run one....could that be what you mean?

Yes. But also my understanding that all open clients assist the network in confirmations.

This:

dvcn-qt-29-Nov-2012.tgz

wallet was mentioned on this forum and can be downloaded from here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/galacticmilieu/files/DeVCoin

What is that dvcn-wallet all about, it has lots of folders and files not included in the dvcn-exp-w32 (dec-2013-bld) or 0.3.25.1-bt, vrsns.

Go to http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin and try those.

Does the devcoin-app have to stay open 24/7 or can it be shut down most of the time and opened just to check or use it, or let it run at a certain time each day for an hour or 2.

Alot of times when I check it's using 100k, 175k, or even up to 250k cpu just running in the background, other times it's only using 5k, 15k, 25k cpu.

When it's open, you assist the network. But, yes, you can shut it down and open it back up any time. The problem with that is that you will have to wait for the blockchain to catch up every time if you close it.

Do you guys know which exchange is the most popular for Devcoins? I'm using crypto-trade but it doesn't look like there's that much volume.

It's a good site, but my go-to is Vircurex. You can also use Cryptsy, but experience teaches that transactions are painfully slow.

You NEED to add VERT or you will continue losing out customers...it is one of the most actively new traded currencies out.

TIX, TIPS, MEOW, and Panda are all good volume traded coins.

Maybe even *gasp* MAXcoin.   (yes, I know...but still, this coin will probably garner a lot of new customers on your exchange, as it has huge publicity)

Where are they currently being traded?
