Best bitcoin payment gateway?

Hey,

I'm looking for a Bitcoin payment gateway to integrate into a project, trying to cut out a bit of the heavy-lifting for myself.

I've looked at Bitpay and gourl.io, but both of them have major cons attached.

Anyone else know an alternative that allows direct deposits into a hot wallet? Open source would be great. That way I can modify it to my needs, AND audit the security myself.

Thanks!

Hey,

Quick question, for calculation purposes; say there was a website available for prospective bitcoin businesses to go to for resources and start-up BTC capital loans(pay-outs made directly to developers etc to prevent ponzi schemes).

With the ability to invest in said organisation, with investment terms of a minimum of 1 month, how much would you expect to see in return? Would you like to be able to choose which schemes you invest in, or would you be happy leaving those decisions to the team?

Of course, there's plenty of bitcoin loan facilities already there, but this isn't quite the same concept.

Thanks!

After a long conversation with a payment gateway provider, I've decided to go ahead and create a service to accept credit and debit cards in exchange for bitcoins. With a maximum monthly purchase of 0.5 BTC. This will be exclusively available for the UK.

I am also adding mobile carrier billing. This will be available to the UK, North America, and Canada.

I don't know what the rules are regarding endorsement here, so I can't say much else.

I'll tell you an amazing service that used to exist but stopped.

Snapcard.io is currently a wallet website, but used to be something completely different.
It has a bookmarklet which you could click on any webpage and then choose an item on the page that you wanted to buy.

It would take you to a snapcard.io payment page where you would pay the price of the item + a small fee. They would have a wide array of payment methods available and would hence buy the item for you and accept your BTC.

It was just amazing. It would work for anything, steam wallet, amazon, ebay, etc. And would allow you to spend Bitcoin on pretty much any online site without them accepting Bitcoin.

If you can somehow create a service like this again, I'll be your first customer Wink

I love this idea, send me a PM explaining it please. I don't know how else that would be done other than issuing a voucher in exchange for bitcoins.

Thanks!

In the UK at least, it is annoyingly easy to reverse a charge, from a merchant point of view.

With sufficient evidence that the transaction was authorised by the card holder though, charge backs CAN be mitigated, just maybe not 100% of the time.

Even at fairly high refund rates though, it's perfectly possible to sustain such a service, at a premium.

Easy buy of bitcoins via credit cards without verification. That's what's the best to do I think. A lot of people from the EU are complaining about that.

It's interesting you should say that. I actually developed the back-end of that a while ago. Did my research, and came to the comclusion that while it is entirely possible, it would only be possible to do it say... 10GBP at a time. To minimise the associated risk.

Plus, I'd need investment capital, which is something I'd have to look into.

I'm not looking to profit, so I'm trying to avoid ending up TOO out of pocket personally.

Hi there,

I'm looking to put my development skills to use while I'm currently out of work. So I'd like to know, what bitcoin services would be mighty useful that aren't there, currently?

We have things like BitRefill, for mobile top-ups, but is there anything else in the same kind of category that the community would be grateful to have there?
I'm already working on something, but I'm waiting on a third party right now, so.

Thanks!
