Since ALS is a negative diagnosis disease we really don't know how many diseases or sub types there are all being called "ALS".

Some people live 6 months or less, others live 8+ years.

If you get on a vent and feeding tube you can significantly extend your life.

ALS can impact brain function in strange ways.  It can cause memory loss.  It can cause a heightened startle reflex.  It can cause you to laugh or cry at inappropriate times.  It doesn't have to do any of these things.  It doesn't lower IQ, although people with a high IQ might have a slightly better chance at getting it.  Of course after around 24 everyone's fluid IQ goes down, so Stephen's probably did too.

Do I have the first bad 841?  I’m thinking the fan or control board is bad. The fan sounds like a child with severe ADHD is cranking the fan speed up and down constantly.  The temperature on the outlet was reaching 94C and I read that these miners have a target of 70C, unlike the 741...so I unplugged it.  It was doing a normal 13.5+TH/s.  The fan speed was set to 100% and the readout in CGminer would vary between 3000 and 5000RPM, although it only seems to update every 5 seconds so it depended where the adhd kid had the speed set when the info refreshed.

Sound familiar to any other 821 or 741 issues?

PCB designer here...

When I look at the side by side boards I see something that was shared.  No one would spend so much time to accidentally make a board look that similar.  It would take much more effort than just designing from scratch.

When we see similar boards we count the things that are the same in terms such as "a few", not the ones that are different.    If they were designed independently someone would have had to go to a lot of trouble to make them so similar.

I've had PCBs copied and reproduced.  This doesn't look like that.  This looks like someone had access to inno designs and made slight modifications, and routed the modifications.  This is far different than the car examples, or both boards are green memes that people have been posting on twitter.  The examples of both intel based motherboards having the same chip-sets just don't apply.

The level that boards are identical is just embarrassing.

For a couple grand they could have reverse engineered the PCB, turned it into a schematic, made their own layout, and at least made it look like they were trying not to copy someone.  There are lots of contractors who perform this service in China.  Of course the US has them too, but they are more expensive and typically prefer to do it on designs a company owns but lost to obsolesce.

I'm looking to sell some of my Avalon 821s.  I'm looking to get $1450 each or $1600 with an APW3++ plus shipping.  I have 7 total.

I'm interested in selling a few Antminer S9s in order to buy quieter Avalon 841s.  I bought a total of 6 in the last month form Bitcointalk forum members.  I bought them thinking Canaan wouldn't come back down to earth...

I'd like to get what I paid for the first 4.  They were bought from a forum member new-in-box, and I have been running them for about 6 days.  They have all been running to spec.  I'd like to get what I paid out of them, about $1450 a piece.  I have new in box never opened APW3++ power supplies too.

Payment was received last night, but Paypal says it is "Under Review".

I don't know if people who just bought 841s are supposed to have the coupon or 841 and 821s.  Maybe try e-mailing Blokforge with your concern and see what they say...  All I know is I ordered both batches of 821s (I was one of the "lucky" ones  ) and a few of the 841s.  I got the Coupon code and I felt special.     I wish I could afford more 841s.  At the current price they are still price competitive with the recent S9 price drop.

PSA...Please don't try to transfer or sell coupon codes given out by Blokforge as a very generous gesture to customers for their previous orders.   

We don't want to take advantage of Blokforge's generosity and not have similar opportunities in the future.  I'm not sure Blokforge would comment on this, because Nick is just too nice and accommodating...but I am 99.lotsof9s% sure that this was not their intent.

I have 16-18 8GB RX480 video cards I'd like to sell.  Two or three of them are 4GB cards that were shipped with 8GB of RAM and a BIOS update allowed all 8GB to be used.

I haven't taken any pictures yet or listed any on ebay yet.  I'm looking at getting $300 per card.

I have Kaiser, Chevy, Ford, International, Suzuki, Chrysler, GMC, Navistar...but I'll always be a Binder at heart.  

I'll buy whatever miner is available at the right price, but given the opportunity I'll want a Canaan from Blokforge.  Nick has looked out for me since I since I first bought from him and has proven that he is in it for the long, so that helps a lot.  When Canaan goes crazy I buy Bitmain.  

By management I meant cables and wiring.  I guess it isn't too big of a deal.

I ran 12 721s in my living room for 5 months and my wife tolerated it.  She is NOT happy about ONE S9 and 11 721s.    This is even with the S9 getting the coldest air intake at around 5-10C right in front of an open window.  I think I've mined more natural gas in the last month than bitcoin...  The Avalon miners sound like little hydraulic pumps and the S9 sounds (to me) like a large shop-vac (the "quieter" industrial ones).

I would think it would be pretty easy to quiet them down with some duct-ways shaped like a switchback and lined with fiberglass.  I'm getting ready to build some mining pods each capable of 35-36kW that will be located where they need to be nearly silent.  Hopefully my plans work out.

If you have 100 S9s, you have 100 ethernet cables, IP addresses, configurations, etc.

If you have 100 841s you have 5 ethernet cables, IP addresses...!!!

Ease of management must also be worth something

Why do you have to jump ship?  Just get the 10 and see how they compare side by side?  The Canaan miners seems "better" in terms of design and performance.
