... Today we are seeing an text-book bear flag (sym triangle with slowing volume) indicating  lower levels in an Wave 4 Elliot Cycle. Sure it could rebounce, but that chance would be 40/60, so my bets are on bear until I see a rounded bottom or similar reversal indication.

Based on your triangles closing, I would assume another day (or so) at current levels, followed by large dumps to 170$+ levels. Am I terribly wrong / bear-ish ?

Anybody knows what just happened ? Some news / rumors / FUD /sheep-ism ? Why are people buying all of a sudden ?

i know that people dont like altcoins in this subforum, but this time ltc has gone up first, then btc.
ltc rallys because its difficulty is reaching a new ath.

So ... anyone want to comment on how will Scrypt ASICs impact the scrypt altcoin world vs. how SHA-256 ASICs impacted a (limited, at the time) SHA-256 alt-coin scene ?
Are we safe to assume that more than 70% of the Scrypt hashing power goes to mining LTC directly (what is this percentage, exactly?) so ... when difficulty shoots up (now, it seems) we will notice a significant change in the LTC/USD or LTC/BTC exchange rate ?
LE: scratch that, I'm a couple of days late already; dammit.

... Allow me to break it down for you. I made a SHIT TON of BTC trading a very shitty alt coin [...]. My percentage is incalculable (19200% original investment $600) in that the stake on this POS coin was 1000% every 9 days. I paid off my student loans, my car, my house.

[VAND] mining rig 1440 kH/s sau placa 280x
by
electronistul
on 09/04/2014, 15:10:36 UTC
Salutare tuturor,

A venit momentul în care trebuie să vând  minerul (în zona Cluj - datorii de acoperit), compus din:

2 x Gigabyte 280x - cumparate prin Nov. 2013
1 x sursă gold 1300W
1 x placă de bază
1 x Celeron dual core

I am so sorry to pollute Risto's thread with unsuitable words, but WTF ?!
What confiscation ? Who's confiscating what ?! Are we in the middle ages or bolshevik Russia _(CCCP)_ now ?
AnonyMint, would you please care to share your thoughts / analysis / sources on this one with us ?

If NOT $1500 by July, maybe $1500-ish at some point before the end of the calendar year?
I remember people "calling it" last November:

Anyone got any speculation for where we are headed in the short term?

Seem's like everyone's just so surprised we broke $1000 nobody planned any speculation for afterwards, and I need speculation.

Surprised ? Who ?

When it was crashing from 900 and we reached 550 USD I said : It will fall below 500 but 400 will hold. If 400 holds then we will hit 1000 USD within the next 10 days. And here we are 7 days later... All correct.

Expect more of the same, going up strong with some corrections/ crashes on the way. For exemple we maybe hit 1600 before crashing back to 1200, then resume rise.

I believe it can again double by the end of the year to 2000 USD. A more conservative estimation is 1500 USD by the end of the year.
In 2014 I believe we'll witness the bull through the 4 digits with the 5 digits in sight. When we reach 5 digits is anyone's guess but I personally see it happen within 12 months.

So ... people felt 2k to be a reasonable figure by the end of 2013.
Personally, I wonder IF we'll see $700-800/BTC this year. There are plenty of lines drawn on charts; $1500 by the end of July, Risto thought of $1M/coin and so on.
De facto: IF all Chinese investors cash out their coins at a loss right about now, we'll see a stable $150 for quite some time.

Not to mention the bankruptcy of some major Chinese exchanges; negative news coverage all over the world, the "Ponzi" word pulled way more than it should and so on.
Investors ? people with USD on the exchanges ?! Where ? I cannot see them anywhere.

It's an easy road to 30 satoshis. Only some BTCs required.
After BigVern adds it, we're probably looking at 50 satoshis +  Cheesy

BAT withdrawals not working for me Sad
I've been Goxed once (some 14 BTCs lost over there), it seems I cannot learn my lesson...

I bought some bats for 2sat today but sent to my wallet 2h ago.

Was it big amount of BATs?
Not a big amount, but still ... some weeks worth of mining, which I'm pissed to lose as I'm paying electricity as everyone else.
I'll not sell my BATs unless they hit 25 satoshis anyway Wink

GaliX, LTC gains traction as people move their cash / fiat / wealth / investment (call it whatever you want) from BTC over to LTC.
It's free (at some places) and ... they're expecting to profit from anything. You would too.

Bought 40 LTC for 1,1 BTC. Good or bad idea?

Depends how patient you are. It's guaranteed 20-30% profit at some time, even more if more patient.

In BTC or Fiat-terms?

btc, soon or later ltc goes over 0.03

Damn I wish I had listened to you yesterday. That would´ve been a straight profit of 25%  Cry

I watched LTC charts for a long time and have seen that they go paralel with the price of BTC so I thought it does not matter if you are in BTC or LTC.
Did you look at December, last year when LTC was close to 50 bucks?

I dunno how these things work, but I have some coins (penguins, karmas) deposited to accounts on coinmarket.io
I just cross-checked the transactions on block explorers from the pools I was mining and the amounts do not match to the amounts shown for the addresses from the exchange (smaller amounts). Do you guys plan on putting the exchange back online, or should I assume I am being re-Goxxed ?

I'm fascinated how nobody reports back on this forum (or I'm idiotic enough to not have found the relevant thread around here yet) on telephone inquiries.
I mean, ffs, they did list a couple of telephone numbers on their "press release", one of them was for English speaking customers, some thousand people must have already called over there - did they say anything at all ?!
I would probably pop only the relevant Qs at hand:
- "Will MtGox reimburse anything ?"
- "Will I get back a fraction of the fiat/BTC I had on my account at the time you wiped the site off the internet ?"
- "Was Karpeles buying some ~6k coins on Stamp earlier today so he could free his family from wrongdoers ?"
- "Are you (the telephone operator) gay ?"
- "Does God exist?"
... and some others I can swiftly think of ...  Undecided
