Re: [ANN] Zclassic, Zcash Fork No Premine, No 20% Founders Tax

What is the info on the fork? Why is it so damn hard to find any official information? Is it out there?

Some things I wonder.

1 What do I need to do to participate in the fork? Just hold my Zclassic in my desktop wallet?

2 Do I need to update my wallet to some certain version? (I have the old 0.0.5 version of the wallet). If I need to update? Do I need to make a backup?

3 When is the date of the fork?

How the hell can I connect to my wallet?? I have just been able to log in normally in the past, but now when I start the wallet (desktop wallet) I just get a red "Could not connect to remote node." message every time I start it. I have tried like 10 different node addresses from here by inserting them in "tools" - "edit node configuration": http://iota.dance/nodes

None of them work. What should I do?

Do Unify have some sort of support email? My transaction is still stuck in the wallet. I have a lot of different coins and this has never happened to any other wallet or coin I have used so it is very confusing as to why it is happening.

Do you use Telegram? I would suggest joining us there. 480 members can help you there!
We have helped many people with different Unify problems.

See my signature for link.

I have joined now and posted my problem. I hope they can help as this is starting to get really irritating and my transaction is still stuck. Also it actually reads (-1 of 6 confirmations). Is that a negative confirmation?

Also have no idea why a small amount of my coins are listed as "not confirmed" in the wallet.

Also on the stuck transaction, if I double click on it to see its info the Status is listed as "conflicted"

Replace de executable... you will be fine, but for security, make a backup of your wallet

Hm not sure I understand, i download the new wallet I need to do a full new install so how can I just replace the exe file?

Can I just install it in a completely new directory so I have both versions of the wallet and run the new one?

Also can I find the link to the wallet somewhere on the Unify site? I am very careful to download and run things that are posted on forums just to be safe.

go to C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\unify   and save wallet.dat first in safe place, then keep unify versions in separate folder and execute each one, i think its good

I have installed the new version and added my wallet.dat file. It has now synced, but my transaction is only having 1 of 6 confirmations, and it was like 6 hours since I sent it?

Also I have some coins that is under a "unconfirmed" label for some reason.

on booth executables?

In the old version my sync is stuck at block 17653 and my transaction is not confirmed. In the new version I am fully syncronized but I only have 1 confirmation on my transaction (that I sent yesterday) (and actually it says -1 of 6 confirmations, not sure if that means "minus" or a typo?) and also I have some coins that are in a "not confirmed" category whatever that is about? What is up with this?

I have not been using Unify in a while and just opened my wallet again, but now I have been trying to sync my wallet for hours now but it is just stuck at "4 days after" and working on block 17653 of 39043 blocks. It just stuck there though. I tried to send a transaction but it never seems to confirm either (I guess it needs to sync first?) How can I get the wallet to sync?

Just download latest wallet version v1202:

Win: https://mega.nz/#!KJZlyBBI!MuQut4sTEBgj9pDcuc6ZO_UkeWEq7Vwpom1TFp2EjBo
Mac: https://mega.nz/#!KQA0Gbra!czGTZTqekJ9Fmkaeagg8o2L4fX3nQ-_SO5Eavfwe6KM

What do I do after I install it? How do I restore my wallet to my current one? Also the transaction that I sent what will happen to it?

What OS are you using? What Unify version are you on? Go to [Help] -> [About Unify] to look up version info.

I am using windows 10. The verison of Unify is: v1.1.0.0-g9cffb23-beta

Re: Critical updates you need to know about in crypto
by

The idea of gathering all updates in one place is really great, but it can't be done here.
It's really hard to keep visiting this thread and cheking if there are any news. Also, any one can post here so, how can you trust what they publish?

Why could it not be done here? As for that anyone could publish that is true, but it is not hard to fact check. The updates I made about Bitcoin Cash and that you need to update to a new IOTA wallet is something you can check very easy once you know about it.

I don't understand why everyone is so sceptical about this, I would love to get this rolling.

There was actually one other critical update I saw from Trezor, that you need to update your Trezor to the latest firmware because there was a serious secrurity issue found where peolpe could hack your trezor if you have the old firmware, so anyone who have missed that and own a trezor should do it asap. Check their blog for more info: https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-firmware-security-update-1-5-2-5ef1b6f13fed

Please post if you know any other critical updates in crypto that people need to know about.

Let it be what it's gonna be, I am not against your vision but if you want people to be spoon feed then it is up to you but my only point is that if you let them know everything especially this critical things easily the downside will be this thread will be full of trash news that will benefit those who will take advantage of it, if you know what I mean. Let themselves discover what things will gonna be and believe to it or not. It is just my opinion by the way.

I really don't want it to be trash news. The point is that this should be one place where one can go to get critical updates like I listed in my original post. I guess mainly when there are wallet changes to coins where you need to migrate over to a new wallet or convert your coin.

Have anyone seen any such news for a wallet or coin in the past months? The only two I have noticed and that I wrote about in my original post was for IOTA and NEO. Also of course that you should be aware of Bitcoin Cash split.

I think for critical updates about crypto's, this forum is the best source of it. We also have reddit posters and even administrators who are regulars of this forum. So for me, no updates about the crypto industry will go without anyone posting it in our forum. Blogs and News articles are not a good place because most of them are payed so its gonna be biased and unreliable source. You can just go here for about 10 minutes a day to check for updates in bitcoin and alt coin section.

I think it would be much easier with a single thread like this where you can get all the critical updates. I am not talking about every updates, but just updated that you really need to know, like the 4 I listed.

Scawanging through twitter and dossens of different posts is just the thing I want to avoid. I am not so sure I would get a critical news about having to change the wallet for IOTA for examble by looking in the forums here unless I know exactly where and what to look for. I could not see it when I looked for it. I only found it by going to reddit and looking on the IOTA section.

Critical updates you need to know about in crypto
by
elektra
on 14/08/2017, 10:33:02 UTC
I am making this thread since I don't know if any exist and I really want something like this. If there is something like this out there, please point me towards it. What I am looking for is a one stop place you can go to, to easy get yourself updated on all the "critical" things you need to know about if you are involved in crypto.

Say you are a busy person and you only have time to check up on what is happening in crypto once a week, once a month, or maybe even less times (and even if you can do it daily and don't monitor everything it is easy to miss stuff), but you want to be in the loop if something critical has happened that needs your attention. My hope is that this thread will be that with the help of us all, and that people will post things here that are very important to know about so if you would go to one place to keep yourself updated on what has happened that is very important to know, this would be the place.

For example I have seen 4 such critical things over the last months:

- The first was the potential fork on august 1 and that you needed to prepare for it and potentially move your BTC to a wallet you controlled to be safe depending on what would happen.

- The second one was the Bitcoin Cash split. It would have been important to know that Bitcoin Cash would be airdropped to Bitcoin holders so that you at least knew about it and could prepare or take advantage of this situation to get your Bitcoin Cash.

- The third one is the wallet migration for the IOTA wallet. I was totally unaware and just by accident surfed into the IOTA reddit section to find out you need to migrate over your seed to a new released wallet.

- The forth was that Antshares changed their name to NEO, and that you now can/should download their new NEO wallet and import your Antshares into it.

These sort of critical updates that are important to know is what this thread is for (of course all might apply or not apply to you specifically if you don't hold a particular coin the update is affecting), and it would be great if people could post things here that are fitting this category. I am sure I have missed many updates, maybe there have been other wallets etc that needs to be upgraded or migrated for other coins in the past months, or maybe there is a coin that is discontinued and you need to convert it on their site to another coin etc etc.

Please post such thing here now and in the future that you think would be important for other people to know!

So I have some Antshares in my Antshares wallet, do I need to do anything now that the coin symbol have changed to NEO? Do I need to download a new wallet etc?

I tried to send some ANS as usual to my Bittrex NEO address, but the transaction is still unconfirmed after about 30 minutes, did I fuck up?

You don't need to do anything as they will be converted automatically inside bittrex.

There is a new NEO wallet though. Don't I have to migrate over to it, or can I stay in the Antshares wallet?

I noiticed that it seems that Antshares (ANS) finally changed over to a new name with Neo (NEO) tonight. Do anyone know if I need to do anything with the antshares wallet since the coin has got a new name?

On the mainpage there is a notice: GET READY FOR NEW, UPDATED WALLETS VERY SOON! (INCLUDES DGW!)

I currently have my coins on nova, should I wait for this new wallet before I download, or should I get the old wallets?

What is ETA on the new wallet?
