Re: OpenBazaar Opened , your first impressions ?

Haz haz for the bazaar has opened.

Once I get some bitcoin in my hands I will visit and go on a shopping spree to get out of this rutt because of the doom and gloom of the bitcoin price recently.
Nowadays it seems most of trading volume goes to ETC and ETH, btc's price is under downtrend pleasure. If you have no faith in holding btc for the long term, I advise you cash out them asap.

Re: Best online wallet

I've been using blockchain.info for years - i've never used a cold wallet once. Takes to damn long to download the blockchain!
No offence but that is pretty stupid. Why don't you just get some kind of hardware wallet like a trezor or a ledger wallet. That is a much safer option unless you are dealing with small amounts of Bitcoin. But blockchain is definitely the best online wallet.
Yes, blockchain.info is the best online wallet. Recently it is upgraded to the HD wallets. User experience is dramatically inhanced. There is a review articles you could check out.

Re: [WAVES] Price Speculation Thread

I think Waves = $ 10!

Are you serious about that?
Waves = $10
Many of people will be rich after the Ico.
But I'm not pretty sure waves is $10.

Since it is speculation thread, any one could give a unreasonable price, like $20 or $30. But when the mainnet is launched, the market will tell us.

I know the word "scam" is very popular on Bitcointalk, but for once:

BTER is a scam, we should not in any way affiliate of cooperate with it.
http://coinour.com/index.php/bter-is-stealing-xcr-from-its-users/
Bter is running shady business since the NXT hack and don't care about its customers any more. They lock nearly most altcoins' withdrawal. Many customers complains to them.

Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase?
by

I bought Bitcoin around $390

Will sell anytime now.
Waited for $500 last time and it didn't work out so I'll be selling at $460.
Fingers crossed though.

Don't sell. Wait for halving.
I am waiting for this event as well. Just wait to see high the price will be pumped to.

Re: Would you trust your Bitcoins to a Bitcoin Bank with annual 10% interest rate?
by
elisa9825
on 18/12/2015, 13:20:41 UTC
10% interest rate per year is not enough, I think rate must be higher. And the second question would be the trust - how can measure the BTC bank trust, if you are going to transfer them higher BTC amount ?
The higher rate, the more change you will get scammed! 10% should be reasonable! Even for the big popular trusted Bitcoin related business, you might be safe to deposit coins there but there is still small chance they get hacked! Just invest what you can afford to lose!

Re: Question about Valid Collateral
by
elisa9825
on 04/12/2015, 08:00:27 UTC
the best collateral would be an account, it's easy to transfer the ownership and can be sold quite easily as well, but for 5 btc you need something like legendary with trust or hero with many trust

The best collateral would be an altcoin. I have seen plenty of loan requests using domains as a collateral and most of them are not accepted because the user is offering a shitty domain, if you can prove your site is worth 5btc or more then I'm sure someone will. Why do you need the 5 bitcoins in the first place?

not my site, but my account, i've made 20 btc with this account, so yes it's worth much more than a mere 1 btc

and no, altcoin ar enot a valid collateral they depreciate very easily, and a very unstable, i would not take any altcoin as a collateral not even litecoin

instead an hero account is still worth at least 0.5 even today
Hero or legendary account is a type of valid collateral considering that no many such accounts are existing at the moment. For the low level member accounts, altcoins are the best provided collateral. Most of lenders require the altcoins be listed at the major exchhanges and have high trading volume in case of liquidation. The high volatility may be a concern. The lenders could ask for 30%, 40% or more than the loan. In case the value of collateral drops down from the loan amount, lenders could set the rule asking to add more collateral.

Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC?
by
elisa9825
on 21/11/2015, 01:35:02 UTC
We should have basic local bitcoin infrastructure implemented, like bitcoin payment processors, exchange liquidity, local acceptance rate etc. Otherwise the local merchants have no point to pay extra for installing such system to accept BTC.

Turing56, you cannot provide anything to prove yourself. So you should know the reasons you got red flag on your account. Ppl tend to trust Kingofdragons due to the provided proof. IMO no ppl are trusting your words. Never mind you are a nebie, you could esaily create anew account and start your new identify.  Grin

Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin
by
elisa9825
on 25/08/2015, 06:23:04 UTC
There was big talk about bitcoin becoming mainstream in 2015, but I don't think it's going to be at the very least 3 years before bitcoin goes mainstream like Wikipedia did 10 or so years ago. New things take time to adapt and as far as an open-source technology like bitcoin and blockchain is concerned, it will take a long time still until people can trust the digital currency and be confident the currency will not collapse. By then the price will probably be quite high.

I think a few things which will attract new bitcoin users for us to lead better mass adoption would be more successful business ventures either related to bitcoin or rather big companies accepting bitcoin, that would make good news in the press. Further would be success stories of people who did great after buying bitcoin, attracting more people to join in for personal gains. Then, we show them the bigger picture, the world which does not limit to us, and the truest potential of block chain technology, making these bitcoin users into bitcoin soldiers, and they fight for the bitcoin community against fiat, screw the banks. GO SPECULATE!
Agree! More ppl buy and use bitcoin, the higher chance bitcoin's price will move up. The time will show this. Let's be patient to hold bitcoin! Grin

Re: New to online currencies
by
elisa9825

In short:

1. You must find a tutor or someone which have time in trading. They do studies of the markets and make predictions which some time go well and some times go bad.

2. Seem thing for the cryptos but here the problem is more difficult. If for the fiat money there are indicator that really can help to do predictions with a certain of veracity with the cryptos the problem is that the signs are to few. So it's more difficult to do trade.

But in both cases it is important the tutor. The re groups of people organized that do such things. Try to be in contact with them.
Not every one has the luck to find a tutor. For new comers, they have to learn by themselves and do the research. At the beginning they should learn from the promising coins, not the new coins.
