As we speak, the botnet hashrate seems to be higher than even the total MPH hashrate. They could potentially take over the network, right? Is anything being done to resolve this issue?

change the algo...

do you know if it's going to happen any time soon? has anyone provided an explanation how they are able to exploit the current algo?

Hello, yesterday there was an attack on MINING POOL HUB, and for many hours did not mining Zcoin and I saw some strange things about the hash-rate and the difficulty of Zcoin.
In fact, the pool went to zero as hashrate while on https://explorer.zcoin.io/
was it a 145 gb/s hasrate like never (minin pool hub has almost 100% of zcoin hasshrate)? moreover the difficulty did not come down even though they were mined blocks every hour ...

I believe that the calculation of the hashrate of Zcoin does not work well and therefore also the difficulty ...

I saw that too, maybe they cheated, they can do what they want with the coin with >90% of the total hashrate.

More people should switch to other pools but no one actually does

zcoin devs are long overdue with the algo change but as long as they get their reward portion from every block they don't seem to care

I think you are aware of the difficulties faced with the initial version of MTP.

The new paper of MTPv1.2 is now finalized and will be published by the authors shortly. Lyra2z was MEANT to be a transition algorithm.

When do you expect to transition out of lyra2z?

ran some 24 hour tests on this coin. results are not even close to the estimates as others have said. and not by a small margin...at least short by 40%. you cannot contribute that to bad luck given 1) one pool has all the hashrate 2) it's so ridiculously far off.

nice to mine though with the low wattage but no thanks.

the community needs to do more about the concentration of the hashrate in one pool. i'm not sure what the best way to do it would be. it's obvious miners won't switch to other pools individually if there is no concerted effort. that would mean potentially sacrificing their rewards. however, if there is a concerted effort to move hashrate from MPH to, let's say, suprnova, then more people would switch over.

is anyone else concerned about this? let's do something about it.

I'm out of this project. BUYER BEWARE!!! These developers are running nothing but a pump and dump scheme. One of the developers is a complete jerk and with that type of attitude this project won't last. This is NOT the first Bitcoin/zk-SNARKs coin. Please reference BTCZ. This project has already been done folks...

It's true I did try to sell the domain names bitcoinprivate.net and .info. I was told that I'm holding the sites for ransom. How is capitalism considered ransom? I saw an opportunity to buy the domains as .com and .org were taken. I offered to sell the sites and was treated like sh*t by one of the devs. I'm not new to the community as my account would suggest. I've been in crypto for over 3 years and have been active with many coins. Trade with caution on this because a lot of people are going to get burnt. Many may call me a FUDer or whatever and that's fine...

Pics below for transparency. I have now been banned from the Telegram and Reddit.

You are clearly asking for it for being annoying. They would have bought the domain name if they needed it. C'mon.

Yes, I agree and do not understand why to do it. Because there is an excellent coin BitcoinZ, which has everything that promises to give this fork BTC&ZCL. In addition, BTCZ already have a great wallet that works without problems. Yes and set it is faster, because the coin was released in September of this year.

I agree, this sounds like a scam to me. They dumped the project once they started it, and now they want to turn more profits by hard forking into something that's already out there.

You could try GPU mining, I suppose your GPU could mine ethash.

The wallet gets stuck at 59055, saying no block sources available. I have 9 active connections. I reindexed and deleted the peers and ban files in appdata. Is this a known bug and how to fix it?
Have you updated your wallet?Does the problem of the wallet version cause to be unable to update the block information? The masternode that started the other day doesn't know if it has any impact on it.

Yes, I'm using the latest version of the wallet.

i got 12 gtx 1070 EVGA SC2, all my cards have ETH 31MHs but the last one has 26MHs... what could it be ? I used same setting for all. This card did 30 on windows...

What brand of 1070? Also what's the powerlimit for that card?

EVGA is the brand

I set power 151 , mem 1400 and clock 100

I had that issue but that's because I was running the PL too low for one of my 1070s. After bumping up the PL to 120, it hashed at 30 mh/s no problem.  What type of PSU do you have running these cards? Make sure there is enough juice going to it.

I got all different sorts of 1070 running at 100W, with memclock at 1200 and coreclock at 150. Only a few had to have slightly higher power limits, but the majority worked great. 30.6 MH/s average rate and very power efficient.

Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0019-1.4

On several occasions the OS crashes with kernel issues (cannot start init etc.) on nvOC 19-1.4 on an MSI Z170A M5 with 7 1070 GPUs, running on a 32gb USB drive. I've had to rewrite the OS several times. It works fine for a couple of days and then I get the same message again.

Any ideas what could the issue be?

First thing is to set up nvOC on USB only for testing purposes ... not for long run.
Get a 30$ SSD, and check again.

USB keys are good for testing different versions; or for trying out nvOC for the first time.  But in the long run an SSD will likely outlast multiple USB keys.

We miners are spending thousands on our rigs and when it comes to stability and life span we forget the most important part and thats where the OS is installed on, we think small and go cheap with a 5-10$ USB when we can have much smoother system with a 30$ SSD.

Using USB as daily use is not recommended in any distro, The most important  difference other than USB read/write limit is there's no way for a USB drive to mark bad cells as 'do not use'  whereas the SSD may develop bad areas it can ignore them. With a USB drive one cell goes bad and the whole drive is useless.

I'm Not saying that you shouldn't use a USB for bootable OS, just that it's not a good idea to have it as your main boot drive and only use them for diagnostic / testing purposes.
No mining system should be run from USB as a daily hardcore mining system, but run it on usb, test OS and see if you like it, then install it on SSD.

I think mining with nvOC on USB is only good for those who want to mine when their pc is not in use, so they boot with usb, mine for a while then reboot back to their main OS...

I got the same error on my SSD several times and that's why I switched to a USB drive. I don't have these issues with the same spec rig with 6 1070 GPUs only. Can the number of GPUs affect performance on the MSI Z170A M5? I'll switch back to an SSD and see how it goes.

Bitconnex is the first and EthConnex is the second with hight profit:

https://ethconnect.net/ref/Win678
ICO price is only 0.5$. Start on 01st Nov
To help anybody earn more money like BCC and REC.
Good luck to all of you!

From ethconnect's own website:

"Ethconnect (ECH) does not apply only the Ponzi model but modifies it for better practical application. "

They literally admit themselves that they are a ponzi scheme.

I still cannot believe that. How can anyone in their right mind buy into this! Mind blowing.

If this pyramid scheme fails regulators will jump all over crypto and financial institutions and governments like China will push against crypto iono hopefully they’ll turn it into something useful the Mt. Gox of coins

Yes, when this thing crumbles, I fear the whole crypto-community will suffer.

But the sooner it happens, the better. I don't want to see bitconnect in top 5 on coinmarketcap before the burst.

Since when is crypto a pyramid scheme, and who established that the market will burst? Sounds like you guys are talking about facts, when all you're doing is speculating.

does anyone here, succesfully mining this coin...?

The difficulty is high right now and there's a lot of mining pool mining Bitconnectcoin, this is the reason why the marketcap is very high, they have people mining it, staking it and lending it people buy and sell this bitconnectcoin continously, and we cannot argue with success.

i read on their website, this coin can mine just with GPU and CPU,
so, why the diffculty become more hight..?
i thought, if we can use GPU or CPU to mine this coin, the diff wan't not really high,, am i wrong,, ? CMIW

also i see on their explorer, the block created less than 10 minutes, and the reward, was 10 BCC per block, worth $2000 every 10 minutes,
that's why, i wanted to mined this coin..

but till now, i'm still confused, how to connected my worker on their pool with my wallet,,
does anyone here, can explained it..?
or anyone here know where the topic is talking about mined this coin,,

It's using the scrypt algorithm and so completely pointless to use GPU's and CPU's due to the fact ASICs will outperform them by so much. Lots of people with L3's are mining it hence the increased difficulty.

So GPU and CPU mining is useless on this coin? The website needs updating as it's misleading.
