Are you AndreaLanfranchi?

KawPowMiner is actually the only miner I could get to work on my AMD mining rig on smOS w/ the dated version I have loaded on that rig -- which was great because it was how I was able to get the rig hashing right at the time of the KAWPOW fork Cheesy

Here's my written guide on How to mine Ravencoin on the KAWPOW mining algorithm with a copy and paste config setting for KAWPOWminer for smOS - https://voskcointalk.com/t/tips-and-tricks-and-downloads-for-gpu-mining-ravencoin-in-2020-kawpow-hardfork/523

I also show this and review the miner and settings in my video guide here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATeiCapUqMA

edit/update
are you blondfrog :O This was the response when I asked Andrea Lanfranchi directly about ProgPoW / ethminer / kawpowminer and zingcash miner github fork

thanks, really very useful guide

FAQ

Why is my hashrate with Nvidia cards on Windows 10 so low?
The new WDDM 2.x driver on Windows 10 uses a different way of addressing the GPU. This is good for a lot of things, but not for ETH mining.

-For Kepler GPUs: I actually don't know. Please let me know what works best for good old Kepler.
-For Maxwell 1 GPUs: Unfortunately the issue is a bit more serious on the GTX750Ti, already causing suboptimal performance on Win7 and Linux. Apparently about 4MH/s can still be reached on Linux, which, depending on ETH price, could still be profitable, considering the relatively low power draw.
-For Maxwell 2 GPUs: There is a way of mining ETH at Win7/8/Linux speeds on Win10, by downgrading the GPU driver to a Win7 one (350.12 recommended) and using a build that was created using CUDA 6.5.
-For Pascal GPUs: You have to use the latest WDDM 2.1 compatible drivers in combination with Windows 10 Anniversary edition in order to get the full potential of your Pascal GPU.

Why is a GTX 1080 slower than a GTX 1070?
Because of the GDDR5X memory, which can't be fully utilized for ETH mining (yet).

Are AMD cards also affected by slowdowns with increasing DAG size?
Only GCN 1.0 GPUs (78x0, 79x0, 270, 280), but in a different way. You'll see that on each new epoch (30K blocks), the hashrate will go down a little bit.

Can I still mine ETH with my 2GB GPU?
Not really, your VRAM must be above the DAG size (Currently about 2.15 GB.) to get best performance. Without it severe hash loss will occur.

nvrtc64_102_0.dll not found...
You have to upgrade your Nvidia drivers. Install cuda 10.2.

Why windows defender delete exe file?
The exe of a miner is recognized by antiviruses as a virus, for normal operation add the folder with the miner to the antivirus exceptions.
Thanks for the announcement, a good miner with support for two manufacturers at once.

Any update on MN issue fix?
when we can expect update?

If anyone can post status here, it would be really good.

v2.5.21 will be released soon, which will require MN transactions to mature for 500 blocks. the fix will activate on block 1.25M in order to give nodes time to update. the commit is here https://github.com/denariuscrypto/denarius/commit/4e066cbcd2c23da37fb353f2d7ab85acb831bfcc

this is basically a simple workaround which just increases the MN maturation time so that the particular issue is effectively useless until 500+ MNs exist on the network, it isn't the large update i've been working on (which will be in the v2.6 branch).

In v2.6, we are redesigning how the MN selection system works completely; payments are made based on the average DNR earnings of all registered MNs and no MN is allowed to be paid more than any other. The wallet will show you the exact earnings of each of your masternodes, and possibly also the exact earnings of every masternode on the network, so that you can see this info clearly.

i apologize for my absence, unfortunately I can't rely on the crypto development to pay my bills and I had to take a new job which has required me to spend a lot of time away from home recently and I felt like there was 'not long left' until I finished up the v2.6 branch, however I've been getting a lot of messages lately to ask me to just do something, so v2.5.21 will be it

to those who mined with hashbag.cc - I will try to get it back up and running now!

Yup, the commits are up now in the v2.6 branch on the main Github. v2.6 will be a mandatory update that users will need to update to before block 1.25 million. The final versioning will be v2.6

https://github.com/carsenk/denarius/tree/v2.6

The release will be coming soon for those to update to with mining pools, masternodes, nodes, explorers, and regular wallets.

https://twitter.com/carsenjk/status/1038955904056549377

alright so yeah in v2.7 we will be redesigning the MN selection system. v2.6 will be this fix and a few other additions.

Someone posted a really nice staking guide for Denarius and we made it to the frontpage on Reddit!

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/8x9xu3/how_to_build_a_cryptocurrency_proofofstake_mining/

 Cool Cool Cool Cool

That guide is a beast, and it even has how to use the 500 address staking technique.  Cool

Is this a parody?

What kind of pinhead would stake a 6% coin which is basically a rounding error in crypto?

So the 500 address thing "increases staking" but no further information? What fun.
If so, then this is a straight up scam in the DNR code and needs to be exposed.

Splitting your coins in a wallet increases the amount of matured transactions that are available to stake - so more stake blocks will be generated. The only advantage to this is as a result of creating more stake blocks, you collect transaction fees for each blocks. The increase is absolutely minimal and does not create any extra PoS income - the total generated amount is still 6% of the staked coins - if you only had 100 coins, you might increase your profit by a few percent just be adding transaction fees over the course of a year's worth of stake blocks.

It may be worth mentioning, the technique works on any PoS coin, it's not something specific to Denarius.

I can also confirm that lagging is gone in this latest version, but now I cannot see staking estimations like before.
Nevertheless staking is working like it should and I can check staking info on green arrow in the right corner so no big deal for me.

Kudos to Carsen for doing the great job as always. Wink

v2.5.2 was mostly my code! Smiley I appreciate the sentiment though, we've come a long way since v1!

The staking estimations tab is currently not correctly removing transactions that stake while the wallet is open - it only updates when you start the wallet. Workaround right now is to reboot the wallet. However I'm aware of the issue and we should be addressing it in v2.6.

On another note, FYI, hashbag.cc now has some more stratum locations:

Code:
Netherlands (EU):
-o stratum+tcp://nl2.hashbag.cc:8688 -u [-p ]

Miami (US East):
-o stratum+tcp://us.hashbag.cc:8688 -u [-p ]

NEW! Hong Kong (China):
-o stratum+tcp://hk.hashbag.cc:8688 -u [-p ]

NEW! Sydney (AU/NZ):
-o stratum+tcp://syd.hashbag.cc:8688 -u [-p ]

Just FYI, hashbag.cc is running 0% fees at the moment.

The China stratum has been taken offline as there was an IPv6 flood going on the network, I've contacted the host to see if they can address it. Nobody was using it though, so no real loss there.

FYI you cannot compile this wallet on a machine that does not have the AES instruction set available (of which most virtual machines don't)
Likely it means that to GPU mine it, it will need the equivalent to the AES instructions, so it seems that GPU might not get much of an advantage over CPU.

It seems we have a brand new CPU hashing and it has been quite effective so far

Don't worry, I managed to get it to compile properly.

However, it is just regular komodo with some extra hash functions built into it. The wallet executable is even called komodod and the default coin is KMD, and it also has a bunch of asset chains for KMD in there as well, all of which work as normal.

The compiled wallet in the OP seems like an Agama wallet with the asset chain parameters built in, however the VerusCoin wallet from the github source does not have any of these parameters (other than a few 'test' bits for VRSC and VERUSTEST). Is this coin a Komodo asset chain using a different algorithm? If so, how can one use the Komodo wallet to mine if the chain parameters aren't included?

Just buy it at Cryptopia. Or you can mine it using your GPU, there are links to mining tutorials in the OP.

If you are going to mine, come mine at hashbag, we need more miners!

Just dropping in a message to let everyone know we've set up a hong kong server.

The address is hk.hashbag.cc.

Funnily enough, for me in Australia, this is the best ping time server I have! So I might set one up in Sydney as well now Smiley

I'm looking at setting up some other region pools for hashbag.cc, so I'll add SEA to the list and I'll make a post in here if it eventuates.
At a glance, Singapore looks like a reasonable place for cryptocurrency operations and is reasonably central to the SEA region.
Sydney is another place that we could potentially host a pool, but I need to check that I'm not going to be stepping on any toes regarding the creation of cryptocurrency in the locations I'm looking at.

That's a post I made quite some time back! But yes, you're right to mention something like this.

I've just set up a server in Hong Kong so for any Chinese miners who want somewhere a little closer to mine - the stratum address is hk.hashbag.cc:8688!

Currently have (all port 8688):

nl2.hashbag.cc - Netherlands
us.hashbag.cc - Miami
hk.hashbag.cc - Hong Kong

just looking at adding a server in Sydney now

if anyone wants some more locations, let me know!
