I expect that I need another 50 hours or so to finish everything and put all the loose ends together before we can start testing it.
This could mean best case, that I will be ready in 1 week, or worst case by the end of january.

Pretty much.
I was able to do about 50% of what's still needed.
If might not be able to finish the other half in the next week (collisions with dayjob), so it might slide a few days into first week of february.
I'll probably create an explanatory video about current state of overlay network and how the blockexplorer behaves, so you better know what the problems are I'm working on.
I owe you that much.
A healthy reminder, we're approaching the 2 year anniversary of when servicenodes were set for testnet and then nothing happened for 2 years.

What creates the market? Innovation and utility or a concept that can be marketed as such. Spr in it's current iteration is essentially a sandbox of empty promises and tears for georgem's tinkering, if he's even doing that anymore. Who knows, theres no transparency here and hasn't been for quite some time. If georgem ever provides plans for something "groundbreaking" and the market reacts favorably, my advice would be to reread the thread and consider his track record of delivering on his promises i.e. sell.

I have had huc sitting in a wallet.dat file for over 2 years. I'm hoping to sync the wallet to claim chimera when the project launches. I haven't been able to sync the wallet in the past using the old wallet dl link. Is there another option?
You don't even really need to sync. Just dump your private keys, which can be done from the console without syncing.
I also would also like to be able to utilize the huc at some point in the future as well. The unreal engine looks interesting.
Devs said on their twitter that HUC "has a bright future ahead"

I would be more confident with the coin that has been developed since 2014 is Spreadcoin in compare with new coins that have not been proven, let alone support the exchange that only Cryptopia.
I have read the thread from gjhiggins it sounds like more selfish as a new person that he just joined in 2016. Because all the issues must be solved, commitment and consistent towards the vision and mission of the future as a long-term project of course.
I will remain faithful to Spreadcoin as well as I hope the development team will be more faithful than the coin holders.

I'd recommend you doing a bit more research on the project's history. Gjhiggins' involvement goes back a tad further than 2016. Developed since 2014 implies work has been ongoing since then. No evidence supports this claim. The development team is comprised of a single individual who has demonstrated his inability to work with others in any meaningful capacity. He is also a liar. These are partially the reasons why only a handful of vocal community members remain following hlm's snapshot. Even with the massive sell off, I'd say it's considerably overvalued.

System nodes sound like an interesting approach to attracting and proving an incentive for newcomers. Will the block reward be taken from the tron allotment? Also, will this release include the mysterious 3rd way concensus mechanism?

Why he had any to begin with is a question that boggles the mind. His spr balance is currently at 0.
At best georgem is a liar and a thief, at worst an incompetent liar and thief.
Nonetheless, from spr spawned crown and helium. Both projects with tremendous potential. Those that invested during georgem's "takeover" have profted immensity, without putting a valuation on time.
Georgem, you deceived a fair amount of people. I sincerely hope you get the help you desperately need.

It's been going very well for Spreadcoin this past month.
I thank my patreons for their ongoing support, which has helped me to decouple from my dayjob a little bit.
Big things are coming in April.
I was also able to completely fund all GPUs and the Raspberry Pi-Cluster through this recent rise in the SPR price.

New People, New Skills.
Crown are delighted to announce that Syntaks has joined the Crown team to assist Chaositec, Infernoman and the rest of the dev team in preparations for the next release. Syntaks brings extensive development experience in the world of crypto and we are excited to be able to attract talent such as his.
We are also very happy to annouce that Ivan Labra is providing Crown with analysis and feedback on our future plans and strategy. Whilst Ivan is a newcomer to crypto, he has played a key role in many open source projects and has been involved in the open source scene for almost 20 years. Our hope is that he will be joining us in a CTO role to help systematize and scale the platform and community.

Thank you very much, stonehedge. This is the first project that I've officially associated myself with in years aside from Neos and quite frankly it's with good reason. I'm looking forward to bringing the same brand of unique application and innovation to Crown that I'm known for and working with the team. It's not often in this industry that you can find yourself in a crowd of genuinely like-minded folks, and I keep my circle small with good reason. I'll only align myself and projects with solid teams with a true vision and understanding of the potential behind the technology we have at our disposal. Just as a note for any concerned, Neos development will take precedence as we roll out v3. Our teams have formed an already synergistic relationship between each other and moving forward I believe that those combined efforts, knowledge and force will produce enough influence and positivity to really propel us into a future of a truly decentralized world.
Shit yeah, great news indeed! While I personally don't own any neos, I have a ton of respect for the project and regret not picking any up in its pre price explosion phase. It'll be great adding your talents amongst to an already well-rounded team. And it's certaint a breath of fresh air seeing projects with similar ambitions acting as a mutualism rather than a cancer.

One of the services that crowncentral.net has been developing is a Tron Monitor, allowing you to keep track of the income/rewards and uptime/status of your Tron(s). We are proud to announce it's finally open for public testing, anyone can register and partake.
The initial release is still very basic and acts as a solid base/foundation for further development. Therefore we would love to get input/feedback as well as feature requests from you guys - the Crown community. Nicely done! This is shaping up to be a nice tool.
I don't think 1000 coins as collateral for node ownership sounds unreasonable as a starting point. If 2500 nodes come online, it would only take a doubling or so of the market cap for it to be slightly profitable from the onset (assuming there are no services initially that would add to this profitability). $150 at current rates. Not a prohibitive entrance point for those looking to get in now.
Hopefully this advanced notice quells the potential for future criticism of how helium was distributed, assuming everything else goes as planned.

Theres quite a few.. i recommend looking around. You shouldn't be paying much more than $5 per month.

I personally like vultr. They have a nice interface and match your first $100, and are $5 otherwise. Lots of good options though.

I'd personally be on board with an increase of the block reward going to throne/tron operators, and i'd surmise anyone with a vested interest in the long term survivability of this project, including miners, would as well. To echo others, Trons bring value and differentiation to this project. Beyond the security threshold, mining is just a wasteful and antequated arms race that for the vast majority, allows the individual an attempt to recover money that is otherwise wasted.

looks really good, but 4btc for a throne, is a bit much not? specially since its a new coin
Dash is currently 100 btc for a 9% ROI. Crown was around a 60% ROI before the price explosion, now it's well beyond that. 4 btc doesn't seem like a bad price point in my opinion. I certainly haven't sold any thrones. Just a few days profit to cover hosting costs for the forseeable future.
