Intro
I'm Armin, you've probably seen me around a lot, that annoying bugger, but anyways, this is my Investment journal. The purpose of this is an experiment is for me to put 65% of all my BTC (0.176) into a little fund, where i only make investments advised by Zach Chester.

Zach is the man! I'm in for this. You are quite bold for putting up such capital though. Brave one you are....

People are so sensitive to price.  Calm down. Switch to 1 week chart and take a deep breath.  This coin has more value than any other coin out there...

Get all the Veri's you can folks.  I have a feeling that the 3rd mkcap spot is already being reserved for us!

I understand you have quite big stake which you need to dump but I am not gonna take part in this mad rally, I will wait till Monday

This coin is so undervalued atm, its not even funny though.

Re: R9 290 display driver crashes on stock

I have your same GPU's and have had your same issues, multiple times.

Here are my suggestions to alleviate driver crash:
*Use the AMD 14.3 Drivers
*Try these settings:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o [your info] -u [your info] -p [your info] -g 1 -w 512 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24500 -I 20 --gpu-powertune 20

Important: Save these settings in your batch file. After you've saved your batch file, launch MSI afterburner. Set your core clock to 1000 and your mem clock to 1250, save your settings to profile 1 and click "apply over clocking at system startup." After that, go into the settings for MSI afterburner, and check off that the program launches at system startup.

These steps will keep you from getting your clocks stuck and continuing the driver crash issue even after system reboot.

*When you get the "driver has crashed..." message, you can't just restart the computer, you need to shut it off via the PSU switch and then reboot.

*Make sure you are running nothing else on your rig except for SGminer/CGminer and MSI afterburner.

These steps should have you hashing around 820-850 kh/s with the Tri-x cards and stable. If you are unable to achieve stability with these steps and settings, it is probably a power issue.  Exactly what PSU are you using?

*I would also strongly suggest updating your motherboard BIOS.

You can review a thread I posted where I was having the exact same issues as you are with the same setup:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1476740/i-may-have-just-fried-3x-r9-290

Lastly, don't give up and don't assume your cards are toast. You will figure this out, its just going to take a lot of patience and a lot of work. Trust me, I've been there.

beta 9.5 drivers are better. sgminer 4.1 zuikkis kernel is better as well. You also HAVE to use msi afterburner with a +25-50 mv offset with the tri-x to get them stable.

Awesome tips, I'll try those as well!

--> +25 mv offset increased my WU several %!!! Thanks!

R9 290 Stability Cure Tips & Pics of New Rig

Hey guys! If you have recently setup an R9 290 based rig and have been having a lot of issues with black screen, blue screen, HW error, low kh/s, low WU, and instances where connecting your second, third or fourth GPU suddenly prevents windows from booting, these few tips might help you!

Tips:
*Use the AMD 13.12 GPU Drivers

*Flash update your Motherboard BIOS (especially if 2nd, 3rd or 4th GPU isn’t being recognized or causing windows not to boot properly).

*Plug your HDMI display cable into the GPU that is located in the PCIE slot recommended in your motherboard manual, for my motherboard, that was the PCIE_2 slot (especially if your display won’t turn on after inserting additional GPU’s)

*Set your GPU core to 1000 and memory to 1250 before trying higher clocks (especially if your computer black screens, starts having lines run across it or, flickers)

*Use Cgminer 3.7.3 Kalroth!!! (It really just seems to work better with these cards)

Here is my new system “Medusa” running 3 R9 290 Tri-x oc cards on Windows 8.1.

My settings as pictured above:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333 -u 1MWhbZ8CwWbh4jgjw8BeYaCLeUTJ46DAX2 -p 123 -g 1 -w 512 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24500 -I 20 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1250 --gpu-powertune 20

Specs:
3x R9 290 Sapphire TRI-X OC  GPU
ASRock 970EX4 Mobo
Raidmax 1200w PSU
AMD Sempron 145 CPU
8gb G-skill Ripjaw RAM

Hopefully this will help point some of you guys in the right direction who, like myself, have been having issues with the R9 290’s. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if you have any additional tips!
