It's not about closing the thread or leaving it open, it's about boycotting a platform that is counter-productive to crypto growth. I've sent multiple high net worth investors to bitcointalk and all of them came to the same conclusion: this place is a joke. It's no wonder ALTcrypto is having issues finding new money.. This is the first place they come and the first impression is an immature community not ready for high dollar investment or commercial applications.
A general boycott of Bitcointalk's altcoin section by the leading altcoins would make a huge statement: Altcoin is ready for mainstream adoption. The only people that would lose are the FUDtrolls. If the altcoin section of bitcointalk dies, the FUDtrolls lose their platform. If Bitcointalk's mods cared about the altcoin space we wouldn't be having this discussion. All they care about is Bitcoin and Ad revenue. There is a stark difference between the BTC side of Bitcointalk and the ALTcoin side of it.
Bitcointalk's altcoin section should remain the joke that it is: a platform for clones and searchandreplace developers. Imagine if the Bitcoin section of BTCtalk had the same community.. Bitcoin would be worth $10 because no serious investor or company would consider adopting it.
All you have to do is look at www.9gag.com and www.4chan.org, then take a look at the typical ALTcoin thread. Tell me if you see a difference in the content.

We need to boycott and move on, all serious coins. I think a joint effort by major coins that are not scams, should do this in unison.
I completely agree with this statement and thus won't post here anymore. I hope that the devs of the bigger altcoins that actually might have a future (DRK, XC, CLOAK, SUPER, KEY, SHD, etc.) can work something out. These announcement threads should get closed, all previous discussion erased and only dev updates posted into them from that point forward.

@DarkProton Exactly. Cloak hasn't even got the attention it deserves yet. Now, how can something filled with innovation and this positive about getting new features go down for good already? Media attention is coming and then that 300k high will become a small hill on the chart next what is still before us.

considering that CLOAK is really just a BoostCoin clone with a simple mixer and some in wallet API calls that was mined HEAVILY by the dev, i think this is accurate...

Everything is dipping, it's not just cloak. Even btc has a rough time.
Bob said a weak ago that the coin would fall back to 60 ksats in case he dumped. Well, I think that yesterday finally he emptied his stash. I hope that from now on we will see a slow but steady rise. I firmly believe OneMarket is still a huge game-changer and will make cloak a direct competitor of btc.

This coin was have the biggest pump I've ever seen
take a look at Mooncoin and Auroracoin and Bitcoin and Dogecoin

Sadly agreed. MOON was some big pump back in the day. And do you remember wolong guy back from January and his massive DOGE pump? And then he proceeded to pump GLC and UNO as well. Then PANDA was called to life which was the biggest of his lies, I lost a lot on that one. A lesson well learned back then...
Cloak does not count as a big pump buy far. And the truth is, you can only pump&dump plain vanilla coins, clones or whatever you want to call it. Coins like DRK and Cloak and XC have a flavour to them, they give something special, something new that has a real value, and their price will rebound with time however much the whales wish to pump&dump them. They can only get themselves burnt in the long term.

And that's the part where you are wrong. And the list differences does not get exhausted by how they handle anonymity. The paths laid out before the 2 will diverge further apart as new features get released/added -- especially in the case of Cloak which mayhaps will obsolete silkroad and all other bitcoin based deepnet services altogether. OneMarket will make the real difference.

It totally looks like we are in the capitulation phase... That double top with the bulltrap is exactly the same graph. I am afraid it might go below 130k... Will this go lower than that? If so, I really want to catch it lower instead.
In my opinion we have just gone through the first sell off phase. Bear-trap right now. I came to this conclusion because the truth to be told cloak hasn't received too much media attention yet. It was mentioned 2 times on coindesk in a paragraph only by name, no specifics. And that is all. I think the attention is about to come.

As another large cloak holder I want to say that I won't sell either. I firmly believe that there are so big things in development -- and of course assuming that the developers will deliver, which they have done so far so there is no reason to doubt them -- it is impossible to lose with cloak in the mid to long term. Short term is another thing, I hope that these ups-and-downs will be enough to sweep out the weak hands and allow new players to enter. We need new money, new buyers coming in which will require greater publicity and I think that Cloak will come into spotlight about early next week.

I have not been trolling on the vericoin thread.
Since I heard about the rollback I called the coin dead.. Since then it's lost 66% of it's value and is dying daily. So.. No fud... Just cold hard truth!

Veri sad but true. On the other hand it would have probably killed mintpal if they hadn't done the rollback. Vericoin was a very nice upstart though, yielded high amounts of profit, hope it will be able recover somehow, I just don't see how.

Second thing, when you have large quantities of btc and you want to achieve profits you can do 2 things, you either baghold and hope for the best -- e.g. those who bought drk above 0.02 drk/btc and are still waiting -- or you can try pump and dump on some level, depending on scale of your investment and your total available btc amount, like Bob has done, and will probably do in the future as well. I understand it although don't like it. There is a third way which usually doesn't work out -- slowly sell, and hope that the market will survive till you are finished -- so it's either case 1 or 2.

I wouldn't worry about Bob. He is just going all out on baits. Yesterday his signature was "Bitcoin, Shadowcoin, Bitcoin, Shadowcoin. That's all!" and was generating shitstorm on the cloak thread. Enough shitstorm to cut the prices in half. Now he is doing something similar here. Just ignore him.

PoSA v1 : Proof of Stake Anonymity
Welcome to the ground floor of a breakthrough anonymous system. In this version we sever the link when sending from person A to person B and therefore there is no solid proof that B received from A. You'll notice in the wallet that there is an extra icon near the minting icon that lights up green when other PoSA nodes are detected. Sometimes a few minutes is needed to find other PoSA broadcasting wallets.
It took no less than 33 builds to get it to this stage, but we're not leaving it there.
Part of the cloak team is already working on a PoSA v2, in which we introduce our "Block Escrow System".
Block Escrow (interestingly an integral part of OneMarket) was drafted in to PoSA to protect senders and receivers from so called "bad actors". What that means is, there is a known risk of a phase 1 node or phase 2 node being a bit naughty and attempting to interrupt the flow of a tx, for self gains or not. It is unlikely that happens but; in our quest for true trustless anon, as laid out on the day we first introduced PoSA we are not ignoring any chances of a "bad actor" disrupting PoSA flow and that concern is now being ruled out entirely.
What we have shown with PoSA v1 is real anonymity and when block escrow is built in, it'll make PoSA the strongest anon system to date (as far as we can tell).
Not only will block escrow make PoSA 100% trustless, we'll be able to provide users with more control over anon sends, to raise or lower the amount of nodes and splits etc but also to remove certain fees that will make a PoSA tx blend into the blockchain even further.
The hard work is completed for PoSA with increased PoSA node stability, various node broadcast checkpoints in place and loads of other tweaks over previous versions in order to get PoSA flow working correctly.
So to recap: In PoSA v1 you now have a working anon right here to play with and test, Cloak team will deliver PoSA v2 in the very near future along with continuous developments of OneMarket and other projects.

posa=0 Turn posa off, default is on.
Anyone having trouble loading up an old wallet.dat on 1.9.7.33 is advised to make a new one and send some coins over to it.

SkyValeey: Only newbies and devs use large letters and coloured letters to give some weight to their words. And you are not a dev, make your own conclusions. Keep that in mind and perhaps next time more people will listen to you. Btw your prediction was very accurate.
