@erictan90 after I look around about Umbrel, based on this, Umbrel doesn't allow public incoming connections. Though I don't know much about how Umbrel is configured and how Docker works. But probably, that is the reason why you didn't get any inbound connections, which the node doesn't act as a listening node.

do you think MyNode allow public incoming connections?

I see around 15000 listening node (https://bitnodes.io)
Is that include the electrum server node?
No, Bitnodes only lists Bitcoin nodes.

I think my Umbrel receiving 1 inbound connection from electrs:0.9.4
That comes from your own node. Electrs are using a P2P bitcoin connection, which makes it show as an inbound connection.

do you mean that my Umbrel node is not a listening node?

does anyone know why it is not possible to disable these 3 options in the umbrel node?

https://i.imgur.com/ZCn7OFX.png

especially the last option 'remote access' to the tor network would be very interesting...
is this generally not possible for the current version or is it maybe somewhere in my settings?

I asked in the Telegram group, someone said it is not possible to disable it now

I see got around 15000 reachable bitcoin node. https://bitnodes.io
How to check if my node is 1 of the 15000?
Use the "Check Node" button under 'Join the network'.
Your IP Address should be automatically detected but if not, manually type it along with the correct port.

That tool is more suitable for checking whether your node accept incoming connection. If you just want to check whether bitnodes.io already detect your node, you could use search bar on leaderboard page (https://bitnodes.io/nodes/leaderboard) instead.

my inbound connection is from electrs:0.9.4
I think the link can't find it

I wonder, do you think the Bitcoin network will survive if all the network nodes are non-listening (outbound connections)?

big thanks vv181!
but how can i increase my inbound connections on my umbrel node?

Code:
"connections": 11,
  "connections_in": 1,
  "connections_out": 10,
Wink

I suspect the only inbound connection you got is coming from Electrs, you can verify it using bitcoin-cli getpeerinfo and search "subver": "electrs",

At least, that is the issue I also encounter on my Raspibolt node, which I suppose Umbrel does only run over Tor connection. It usually happens because I got a bad internet connection, and it is usually fixed by just restarting the Tor service. After that, I leave it half an hour or just a couple of hours, and then the node usually got the inbound connections back.

I don't know for sure about your node, but you can also try to restart the Tor service if you want:
Code:
cd ~/umbrel && docker-compose restart tor

hi, how many inbound connections after you restart the Tor?

bro, you go open an account with any exchanges. Then you will have the bitcoin address. After that, you could ask the sender to send Bitcoin to your Bitcoin address.

you may try to open a Binance account then you will have Bitcoin address. Give the Bitcoin address to the sender.

I sold my house.  I paid my friend to buy 20 bitcoins.  He bought from a place called Tour.  From an exchange called crc.  This exchange is in the dark web space.  My friend says that the exchange has transferred bitcoins to its user.  But he can not transfer from the user to the wallet.  He has assured me that he has received the bitcoins.  But from its dark web user can not transfer it to the wallet.

is this real? could you share the screenshots? the websites?

Both Trezor's software and firmware are open-source. If they add malicious code, people would find out[1][2]

[1] https://wiki.trezor.io/Firmware_changelog
[1] https://github.com/trezor/trezor-suite
I've always been curious to know how often the source code is checked? When does a new release come out? Who is doing this? How many people check the source code? How much can they be trusted?

Sorry for so many questions. I wanted to know, at least superficially, how this is implemented.

Hello,

For example, Trezor captured by regulator and regulator wanna confiscate all people Bitcoin.
They will release a new firmware update to steal all people Bitcoin.
How to prevent that? Use 2 Trezor?

Regards
It seems to me that if this is implemented, it will be done differently. The regulator will create conditions under which people themselves will be forced to give their bitcoins or part of it in the form of taxes.

yup, I guess we should use 2 Trezor, 1 for testing if the new update is good when every new update is released.🤔

Also I don't think trezor can force people to update their firmware if they don't want to. I guess they could make it incompatible but since there are other drivers that can be used and it's open source, that makes things a lot harder for them to succeed in an attack.

I mean user don't noticed that Trezor is captured and they voluntarily update it.

Been open source is helpful but we need to wait for some time before update it, allowing people to check it first.
I believe many people will immediately update it as soon as new update released  without any doubt.

As @cygan said by default Umbrel is running on TOR and you cannot disable that for now.
You *do not* need to use port forwarding it all just goes through the TOR network for connections to the outside world.

However, you should have more then 1 connection.

-Dave

Are you sure Umbrel with Tor will have many inbound connections?

Not 100% sure since I have tinkered with mine a lot, all I can say is mine DID before I took it offline last month.
Take a look here: https://community.getumbrel.com/t/is-there-a-way-to-increase-the-number-of-peers/5150

You might want to post a question there too and see. The community is active and willing to help.

Side note, before opening ports make sure you understand the security implications of letting ANY inbound traffic into your network.

-Dave

I think Tor could receiving more than 10 inbound connections.
I asked in the myNode Telegram group screenshot: https://ibb.co/2jJYTSQ

great, I think I will get the MyNode.
https://ibb.co/nnWKSJG

They say it is a plug and play then I could run the full node to support the Bitcoin Network.

While it should be plug and play,i have few recommendation/concern.
1. Since you already download whole blockchain, you could use it on myNode to save time/bandwidth. You can check their guide at https://mynodebtc.github.io/bitcoin/data-from-other-node.html or contact their premium support about how to do it.
2. Tor is censored on some country/ISP. If it happened on your country/ISP, configuring Tor manually might be needed.

Hi, I am able to use the Tor Browser. Is that mean my Tor is not censored?
