Ripple question: Can I charge interest?
by
ericwt
on 03/02/2014, 04:37:44 UTC
A friend asked me this question about Ripple and I have no idea how to answer it or if it is even possible. Could someone with knowledge help me out. I am more into cryptos than Ripple.

How do you charge interest in Ripple? And how do you make sure that the rate cascades as the lines are drawn through the web of trust?

Thanks for any insight. Smiley I have no idea what he is talking about.

Re: [XPM] Why Primecoin is Useless, Doomed to Fail?
by

From my standpoint all of the current cryptos will fail long term.

Newer cryptos will evolve. That is the nature of business and currencies.

So what?

I will still profit from them.

Primecoin is not going away anytime soon.  So I will forgive the OP's ignorance and agenda and laugh all the way to the offline wallet. Wink

The Primecoin micro-economy may see the light of day before you think. Wink

I have the feeling that Primecoin is getting more attention every day. And that's a good thing I would say, because hopefully a "real" Primecoin micro-economy may see the light Smiley

I honestly do not think Ripple is a scam.

It is a fascinating concept.

However, I can already take any kind of Crypto I want to for payment.

What I am wondering is why I need it? Where is the benefit for me?

I own both.

Right now if I could get away with eliminating fiat I would.

Note: I have tested Ripple and personally I do not consider it a crypto.

A good alternative to the SWIFT system but not a crypto.

As it is I do not need Ripple.

Which would you buy first? Gold or Cryptocurrency?

They have a very good PR firm.

Nothing wrong with that.

In America if you have a problem throw money at it. If you need publicity hire a PM firm.

BTW: I am a gold bug and am very into Cryprocurrencies.

I have no idea.  Huh

That is why I am asking someone to confirm this.

I am a businessman not a tech.

RS lives in Australia, why would he utilize servers in the US?

If his servers are in the USA he has some real problems.

An email to the right Fed and it will all be over.

Personally I like his exchange and I love watching the chat.

Can anyone confirm he has US servers?

The servers are also on american soil, which is not smart for an exchange which is not compliant with the US fincen guidance (a site which converts one virtual currency into another requires a money transmitter license if they serve US customers, as explained here: http://www.fincen.gov/statutes_regs/guidance/pdf/FIN-2013-G001.pdf). Forget about that it's not even registered as a Money Service Business MSB.

Furthermore, what happens if Realsolid is run over by a bus tomorrow. That's $600k of funds gone as he's intimated in the chat he's the only one who has access to the funds.

Re: [XPM] Why Primecoin Price Has Bottomed Out
by
ericwt
on 02/08/2013, 08:54:32 UTC
I agree with you. It was and still is being over hyped.

However I am enjoying the large price fluctuations.

It has been quite profitable for me to buy when everyone panics and sell when the price goes up.

Long term it will succeed in my opinion. Is there any need or use for it?

Nope.

Yet when someone comes out with a Primecoin payment plugin I will be taking it as payment.

Why? The fact that it has no use is not relevant. Other people give it value.

All that matters is I continue to make profits with it. Grin

How deep could this thread go before someone points out that there's no use for the coin?

Re: Will Primecoin (XPC) be a lasting cryptocurrency?

I think Primecoin has a good chance if more merchants start taking it as payment.

A have been looking for a simple way to take Primecoins as payments. However as it is now there is no easy way for me to stick a plugin or Primecoin payment system on my web stores.

I have thought about paying for development of such a system.

At this time I am not willing to invest a few thousand dollars needed to implement it. Hopefully someone with more practical experience will come up with a solution.

No, he was correct. I edited the post.

Except for the fact it was a general statement and not a question.

Periods and question marks confuses some people.  Grin

OP, Credit building loans?

So you actually subscribe to one or more of the three credit reporting agencies?

Somehow I do not think Equifax is going to take a report on a Bitcoin loan.

Re: Looking for Bitcoin Affiliate programs
by

Are you familiar with affiliate marketing?

Some people use affiliate programs on their blogs like amazon and they link to books or other products. If the people click the link and order a book, you get payed a small amount by Amazon.

In the Bitcoin world, I can link someone to a free bitcoin site for watching video, and they get paid in Bitcoins, because they clicked my link, I also get bitcoins.

I put a link on my site that I own. I do not put a link on someone else s site. Grin

Sorry, it still not clear what you want.

It seems like you want to put your link on someone's site and get paid for it...

Anything that increases privacy (VPN, etc) and increases profits (Bitcoin wallets and checkout services.) and that you can pay for items in Bitcoins, is good.

My market is looking for more privacy and better ways of doing business and they love paying with Bitcoins.

Any niche for the modern high net worth international businessperson is welcome. But the payment method must be bitcoins and I want a cut of the action. (a small amount, I am not greedy)

Since I know this market all I have to do is talk about the product or service and put my affiliate link up.

I sorry, about that.

I have an international business site.

Most of my customers are interested in Bitcoins and alternative payment methods.

What I meant to ask is where do you plan to put their links?

Most sites with Affilate programs just mention it on their site.

I figured here would be the place to ask about Bitcoin businesses that have an affiliate program.

Sure... Where would they advertise?
