I need an alternative to the bank that can be created via KYC with no minimum balance and easy to pay, load and withdraw anytime. Else, UPI apps are many.

As I said UPI lite is an option but if you need higher limits then you can try Amazon Pay that I have been using for very long time but only for making online purchases not UPI payments but whenever I tried it worked fine but it has its limitations since its considered as bank not wallet you can add upto 10K per month.
If you need higher limits then banks are the only choice, IDFC, Kotak and many private banks offering instant account opening after submission of KYC but the minimum balance you need to maintain will be 10K.
UPI lite is good but the limit makes it not so useful. Amazon Pay doesn't work with many merchants as the ones near me use gpay or bhim. The banks require me to open a savings account after a year using their digital savings account.
I hope an alternative is found soon else will need to switch back to debit cards
I have jio connection and will try it out. I just closed my kotak account so don't want to try their zero balance one.

Paytm UPI was the best option for me and now I'm using Bhim which is much more complicated. Paytm had its own bank and it was easy to add and withdraw money which is not offered by other UPI alternatives.
BHIM app is good but is overfeatured and is often clanky to use. In that sense, GPay and Phonepe has better interfaces and I use GPay almost regularly to make payments hoping for some good cashbacks. They used to give away few single digit INR value cashbacks directly back in 2020 but they dont anymore.Still I keep getting hopeful I will get some one fine day.
As far as Paytm is concerned, I can see them selling off to someone else and moving on.

I have been inactive and I'm really sorry for that as I had my own personal and financial problems. I understand that this board has not been active as earlier in 2017-2018, this section was super active when altcoins were doing well and I was fortunate enough to be a part of the forum back then. Now, it seems that the market is also not good and for Indians, the taxes have ruined the fun of even considering BTC as an investment or source of income which wasn't the case earlier. Bitcoins had so much potential in India but nothing is working out now.

They do send out notices to anyone who skips taxes and tackles cases. If one is dealing via Indian exchanges, there is more chances of getting such notices and they can send notices up to 7 years but the amount does matter. The tax has ruined it for everyone as it's hard while filing returns and plus, they demotivate you to deal in bitcoins by imposing 30% which is a huge amount to pay.
I still trust Unocoin only as it's easy for me and have been using it since 6 years. The fee is not an issue but I wish there are more exchange websites for Indians to spend BTC directly instead of converting it. I purchased gift cards earlier from Bitrefill but it was damn expensive (almost 800 in fees) and not worth the price I paid for it.

I have 23 coins of 50 paise ranging from the period 1984-2002, 10 coins of 25 paise ranging from the period 1975-2002 and 1 coin of 5 paise of the year 1967.
All are Indian coins only.

I don't get why there they want to demotivate all customers having forex or crypto transactions by penalizing them with huge tDS deductions. They even banned SBM recently and stopped all foreign trades which was beneficial for customers as they could pay 0% forex conversion fee. Everything that's helping the people is banned by them.
Or so do we think.
Cryptocurrencies fall under the AML policies as per the recent guidelines by government of India.
This shows that India is very much concerned about money laundering and we all know how good crypto is when using it for money laundering.
This is one of the major reasons why India is against the use of cryptocurrencies.
But according to me, India should create more regulatory policies so that Indians can trade cryptocurrencies and not use it for money laundering.
One idea that just struck in my mind is creating India's own government authorized cypto exchange which allows users to trade cryptocurrencies.
This way India will be able to track money laundering, encourage crypto trading, utilize it for taxation as well as promote the use of it's upcoming CBDC.

I feel it's more about investing in foreign currencies. Like SBM supports Indians to invest in forex market and make foreign transactions. Hence, they banned it and are charging 20% TDS on all such transactions no matter the amount.
Crypto was something they always hated but now prefer taxing it heavily. They have started charging for UPI transactions also which is currently applicable for merchants.

That's almost 50% for buying 1000. I also wanted to make a purchase of BNB tokens worth Rs. 200 via Wazir via UPI but it had disabled UPI payment mode for a long time after which I uninstalled it. I just needed this to pay for the network fee.
