Re: How to know when to sell?
by
erikmatik
on 14/11/2017, 11:08:58 UTC
If you are talking about the cryptocurrency market then it is hard to predict the market so you cannot accurately know when to sell and when to hold. This is not like the stock market that some traders based on candle sticks or should i say technical analysis. Bitcoin is different it is very volatile, more volatile than the stock market. What i mean by this is that you cannot just simply rely on the news, if there  is going to be bad news then price will fall just like in the stocks. What i can suggest is to just put a target price, say if bitcoin falls to X amount you will be buying and if it gets to this amount you will be selling otherwise you will just hold. You'll be making more profit by doing that. Patience gets rewarded my friend.

Patience is actually my problem. I'm too patient when it comes to holding.
It's like am actually hoarding the coin 😑.
I guess I'll have to try out your target price tactics and see if it works for me.
Thanks for your time sir.

It's not bad to hold, to hoard on your coins. Coz basically the concept is you buy low, hold onto it for some time until you feel you profited a bit then sell. Profit comes on how you play. you may experience losses sometimes but its natural, bitcoin is too volatile. I've experienced losses too.

Re: Government & Bitcoin
by

The sharing economy is just going to continue to grow, and governments will be challenged to understand and manage its implications while embracing its benefits. However, governments will be at a significant disadvantage if they wait too long and newer technologies and markets will have already been developed that do not follow traditional models. Think of the following: Uber is the world’s largest taxi service and owns no cars. Airbnb provides lodging yet does not own real estate.

How will local governments adapt to these new ways of doing business that are disrupting traditional business models? All we know now is that governments are a long way from even contemplating and accepting this new reality.

what the government could do us review all the aspects of those new business that keeps sprouting everywhere. Every business must coincide with the established law. If it complies, allow it. If not, try to restrict it. That is the way as can be seen on the recent ICO bans on China and South Korea, govetnment in action against on wht they see as threat on the less knowledgeable citizens prone to scams.

I strongly agree that bitcoin has many advantages. For me the advantages of bitcoin in addition to increase income as well as the right investment for a better future
You don't understand. The main advantage of bitcoin is the ability to use it to build our own economy to which the government will have no relationship. Bitcoin is freedom, but most people did not understand.

That's right. Freedom for us, casual people. That is why bitcoin exist... to prevent infulence of political and banking system...

yes, agree with this, anonymity is the main advantage of bitcoin, you can transact anywhere and anytime, just have the wallet addresses and waaalllah. And it's fast. And is now accessible around the world, just have the technology.
Also being a currency and being able to be traded and exchanged from a lower to a higher value gives bitcoin an edge. It gives another window of opportunity to us, investors and common people alike fir a new source of income.

Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ?

Every investment scheme has risk, and so has bitcoin. But bitcoin tends to have an upward trend regarding its price basically so if your strategy is buy and hold, you can be somewhat assured it will generate profit. Although news of bans and other negativities towards bitcoin sprouts every now and then, bitcoin's value as the biggest cryptocurrency remains the same. Keep the faith!

so basically they will also be having an ICO right? And it's up to the purpose and use of the coin that will make the said created coin successful. And maybe one of the use of the said coins is for trading with bicoins and other cryptocurrencies just like on the real money is. Hmmm, we'll just look into the future and witness if the said possibilities will come true.

Re: Mining coins save or sell it?

on 18/09/2017, 09:37:21 UTC
If you keep mining but you are keeping it, how can you sustain your mining? We know mining isn't cheap, power consumption is expensive. So there will come a point that you have to sell some of what you mined for your operations cost. Just like having a business, profit comes after you subtract expenses from your income. And maybe you mine for the goal of having excess coins for profit. Just so to know if your mining is really profitable or not.

Re: War on Drugs: The New Era of Philippines
by

on 18/09/2017, 09:31:22 UTC
War on drugs must be on the drug itself, not on those innocent civilians that had been dragged into the so called war. Philippines is a democratic country, which is governed by the rule of law, but with the corresponding justice, and with that comes due process. Everyone has the right to be not punished unless proven guilty. No one shall have the justice in their hands, because in that scenario, even if the killed ones are criminals, the ones who killed are definitely murderers. The end does not justifies the means.

haha, feel you bro. Buying your first bicoin and watching the market makes its rises and falls makes you so nervous you might want to withdraw the same time you see that the price dips. That's one risk, bicoin is highly volatile. And with what is going on now with the major country players like China makes bitcoin investing a roller coaster ride. Just stick with it and believe, you can learn along the way. Just read, read, read and educate yourself. There are tons of useful ideas and learning materials out there beaneath on what you call "rubbish" opinions". Just seek, there is money on garbage haha!!!

Re: What is the most important in a cryptocurrency project?
by
erikmatik
on 17/09/2017, 15:59:26 UTC
innovation and real usefulness!

anything that you see that is succeeded is because they have had some usage in real world and that created demand for them.

for example when Apple created iPhones there was a lot of innovation in them. and there is usage for them too which creates the demand. people like having a small thing that has a ton of stuff in it they use (phone, camera, planner, internet, music, games, ....).

you can gather all the brains in the world and start a project but as long as that project doesn't provide anything that anybody wants it will be useless.

Thanks for your response!
That's also my personal opinion. I just have the impression that nowadays all the people bringing a project to ICO want to show how knowledgeable their team is to bring confidence to big or individual investor.

hits all the spot!!! Some projects are made just for the sake of making a project. A team has a goal, mainly to achieve success in their chosen projects. But sometimes the essence of the project is missing. Usability and application to daily activities must be the main objective. As i've read somewhere before, a good project or idea is one that solves a problem, be it small or big. If the public sees the use, then it goes boom.

Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin
by
erikmatik
on 15/09/2017, 11:25:12 UTC
All in?  HELL NO, nobody should go all in, regardless of age.  Taking higher risks when younger--that's all well and good.  But going all-in on anything crypto is a recipe for bankruptcy.  I wouldn't even allocate 20% to crypto.  You'd have to be crazy to go even half-in, and I say that as a person who likes bitcoin.  A lot.  It's just way too risky.
True. Just as what Warren Buffet had said before, "don't put all you eggs in one basket." You can say that young people has the means to risk it all because they are still young, but that does't mean that risking to lose all is good for young people, actually for all being alike. Spread your investments in various forms, some bitcoin, some savings, some business. because at the end of the day, the result of the investments we made will be the one we will live into.

Re: Anong gagawin nyo kung sakaling mawala ang bitcoin dito sa mundo?
by

Just the same, people are bound to find opportunities, and we'll find another "bitcoin if ever. Kaya chillax lang mga ka-talk.

Re: Is Speculating A Bad Thing?
by
erikmatik
on 05/09/2017, 11:17:15 UTC
No, speculation is actually a very good thing. It helps to determine the real open market value of something, so economy can work properly. If prices were dictated by some central organ, it would be planned economy like the one that was in Soviet Union - time has proven that it doesn't work, because without market signals it's impossible to allocate resources efficiently. Those who hate traders are usually just envious of them, because it looks like traders are just making easy money. But in reality it's a very hard job.

Agree with you, speculating is one of the driving force of economy, of the trading business in particular. Speculating is the basis on the decision-making of every trader. Will bitcoin price go up or go down? Will I sell now or hold for a longer time? Shall I trade to other coins or convert to cash? That's the questions of each and every bitcoiner, trader. And that what makes the market alive, because the combined efforts of each and every participant in the market or economy is what runs the trade.

Re: How to combat the surge in scam ICOs
by
erikmatik
on 05/09/2017, 11:02:33 UTC
Hmmm, is there any way to know if those behind the ICOs are legit o not? Maybe during all those numerous ICOs before, there are personalities that were involved in shady and scam ICOs, so if they will be part of new ICOs then someone can raise a red flag for that one. There is too much ICOs today and reviewing each and everyone of them is an essential part in understanding on what is their purpose,as well as if investing in the said ICO will be worth it. But the biggest issue is determining if the ICO is a fraud. Making ICO pay before the start is ok, but to whom they will pay? and who will regulate?

Re: ICO banned in China. Nakaapekto nga ba sa pagbaba ng BTC value?
by
erikmatik
on 05/09/2017, 10:18:36 UTC
The Chinese Government has officially banned the ICO in their country. Ung value ng BTC ay bumaba this week. Anu sa tingin nyo ang magiging impact nito sa Global market considering malaki din ang Crypto users sa China.
Correct me if I'm wrong, kung ICO's ay bawal s China, meaning ung mga pasimulang crowdfunding para s start-up ng mga bagong cryptocurrency ay illegal na, then all the existing cryptocurrency including bitcoin and etherium which is established n ng mejo matagal n ay working pa din. Na ibig sabihin, they can still use existing cryptocurrency in any way. At kung ICO ang usapan, ICO's can be done outside China, as long as me magiinitiate and knowing that bitcoin is based on the value of anonimousity of the users, makakahanap at makakahanp p din ng paraan para mkapagcrowdfund.

I guess I am too late to the train but I made a small purchase of a fraction of bitcoin lol. I am not rich by any means. Hope this is a good decision lol Wish me luck. Where do you think BTC will be in next 2-4 years?

Good luck first, for bitcoin I expect to reach 10k dollars before 2020 or 2019. Why those years? Easy, block halving year is 2020 on the way. Remember what happened after 2016's block halving and you'll see the answer.

Yes, just make a review of on how bitcoin price is behaving over the past few weeks and months and you can see that it generally goes up, it never goes down. The trend is its price will increase, if not really that much like what happened early this year, but the point is, it always tend to go up. That is what really matters, especially if you are the holding type, just hold on to your BTC and reap the rewards in the future to come.
