What are the most interesting crypto-related projects in your opinion?

I'm basically thinking whether to spend more time in crypto in terms of contributing, developing, or launching new projects . 4 months ago, I was super excited with the the possibilities. The rise of steemit, d.tube, airdrop/ico websites gaining traction, ethereum games, blockchain companies launching their own venture funds. I felt it was the right space to be in. I've developed some small projects here and there, and looking for some extra motivation on what kind of projects to build.

Re: Bounty/Airdrops - post ICO ?

I have been seeing more and more projects holding bounties and airdrops post ICO.  Not sure what it's all about but it appears to be a new trend.  Any yes payout is always a pain with bounties/airdrops.  It's always something.

Any examples? I think one reason why there's less airdrop programs after ICO has ended is because of transaction fees associated with transferring tokens, which doesnt occur when minting tokens to addresses on the ICO smart contract.

Bounty/Airdrops - post ICO ?

Are there any bounty or airdrop programs that are active even after ICO. I don't like how currently, you'll have to wait for an ICO to end before you receive your share of token from the task you did for them. I mean, you might forget about it few months from now. I'd rather receive a token a few days after they verify what I did for them.

Re: Idea for an ICO rating Site?

Hey. I'm very interested in finding a solution for this problem as well. I think there's value in decentralized review system. Also with regards to reputation, i'm thinking one could also pull in reputation from existing social networks such as twitter, linkedin, bitcointalk. i.e if a review is coming from someone like vitalik for example, it adds more weight compared to others. And something like keybase can already be leveraged to prove identity. With regards to "set standards", i'm not sure if there should be one at all, but a simple 'steam like review' system could work i think with some added UI that highlights and groups reviews into summaries of common points so that people can get a better picture of what other's think.

I'm a developer, have done some blockchain related projects, and would love to discuss this more.

Decentralized Review ?

So i've been thinking about this for a while now. I think it would be great to have a decentralized review platform that can be used to rate any website or product that's censorship resistant and free of fake reviews. Think amazon/steem/ico/website reviews from trusted people but on a chrome extension. Any projects like that currently? What do you guys think of such a project? I'm a dev and thinking of building something like that. Anyone interested in brainstorming further?

I remember seeing cryptocribs.com (airbnb but only accepting crypto payments) which i thought was interesting. They dont have a native token so that passes your requirement. Not sure how well they're doing though. For video games, there's plenty of ethereum games that you can look at dappradar.com

Re: How to make a successful project?

Step 1 : Focus on your goal ( project) because your energy will go to him:
Focus on what you want, not about what you do not want, and  when you say to yourself that you will make a  successful project (  there become a positive energy (+) inside you), then your focus will follow your  thinking.

Good note on focusing on the positive side of things instead of the negatives (which i find myself doing sometimes, and negative energy can sometimes drain you, a little unavoidable at times, but its good to be self aware).

I'd like to add choosing the right market. Too many times, people who work on something that lacks proper demand, and despite having a good team, the project fails.

Umm. So if a gambling site is only dealing with bitcoins or altcoins and not fiat involved, is KYC even required? And which countries mandate that? Perhaps gambling sites should incorporate in a country that doesnt have KYC required instead.

How does Shapeshift work? [Internally]
by

So I just tried shapeshift recently and thought it was pretty good. But from a technical standpoint, I was wondering how they actually perform the exchange of currency. Does anyone have a clue? My current assumption is that they're purchasing a target altcoin on demand when a request has been made (perhaps using something like bancor), then sending that altcoin to the recipient's designated address .
