Price run ups happen when a wallet goes down for maintenance (maybe not all the time, but it has happened a few times that I have seen (e.g., XP on coinexchange recently), but I would think the opposite would happen. Disabling a wallet should cause ppl to sell on the given exchange, not buy.

There is no traditional max supply. Block reward slowly tapers off over many years (Reward is 300,000 - block height). You can see emission stats:

Maybe the max is 50 billion. Maybe Sia is burning supply now (don't think so) or maybe will in the future (it is on the road map iirc).

No. If you buy HUC you have HUC but no CHI. CHI is a seperate coin. If you owned HUC at a previous block (over a month ago) then the HUC coin split into HUC and CHI. CHI is not on any exchanges right now. If you buy HUC that is all you will have. You might be able to post WTB (Want To Buy) CHI in this thread. If the price is right you will find a seller.

I don't use OpenLedger. From what little I have used it, I find it confusing. From previous posts that I have read I believe Qora is traded on OpenLedger in groups of 1000. I think Qora is trading on OpenLedger between 4 and 6 sat.

You cannot import an address into Book of Orbs.
You log in to Book of Orbs the same way you log in to your counterparty wallet. Tap ACCOUNT in the bottom right, then SETTINGS in the top right, tap recovery phrase and you will see your 12 word seed. You can use the 12 word seed in one of the wallets found at http://counterwallet.io/

or vice versa

You can use your 12 word seed for your counterwallet in Book of Orbs.
Book of Orbs uses a single bitcoin address that is derived from the 12 word seed.

Have you tried the link in the OP (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1358722.0)? I've had no problems running the wallet on 64bit linux. There is a log4j error (mentioned several times in the last few pages) at start up, but I ignore it with no problems. Been running the wallet for months with no problem.

From my perspective it will improve (drop further in price). There is lower liquidity and higher friction getting coins in and out of OL. I'm not so familiar with OL, but if the smallest unit on OL is 1000 Qora then those units could (and likely will) sell for sub 1ksat per unit on OL(i.e., less than 1 satoshi per Qora). There are also coins that trade against DOGE on various exchanges which means, if these exchanges pick up Qora, Qora would likely trade at sub satoshi prices. Dead price cold be .0004 DOGE or lower. Take a look at delistings coming up on Bleutrade exchange:


Now those are dead coins. Qora has lots of life left.

It does seem unfair that we have to take responsibility for where we choose to leave our coins. Devs and organisers of CHI have no control over when and how poloniex manages or lists new coins. We can only talk to poloniex about that. If we have coins there, like CHI, our best course of action would be to chat with a mod in the trollbox or submit a ticket.

What could we do with the coins though? Even if we have the huntercoin wallet with CHI inside. There is no way to move the CHI at this point (afaik).

What if it's unclear which chain is more secure for a prolonged period of time?

I still believe that the Bitcoin Unlimited demon could be patched with a modified version of addrindex (or whatever the patch is called). Everyone would then have all their assets on both chains.
