I've been involved for quite some time (downloaded my first Bitcoin wallet in 2010), and I diversified bitcoins to hold various altcoins. I would say altcoins have a huge potential (and actively involved in Catcoin 2013), but frankly if I had held onto some of those bitcoins I diversified away, I would be in a better position today. LOL!

There has been multiple "Catcoin" projects taking advantage of the meme coin craze, it's confusing. The original Catcoin (that was released only a couple of weeks after Dogecoin, in 2013!) has lately been blowing up in terms of Scrypt hashrate, despite there not being much if any promotion up to this point. It just passed 400 gigahashes per second (still small potatoes, but that's about a 1,000x increase over a few weeks ago). Not on any exchanges atm, but the blockchain is over 10 years of sustained run. Due to everwhelming demand and multiple commitments in place, the objective of obtaining committed hash power over a 1500-hour duration has been amply achieved. Therefore, effective immediately, the offer is no longer open.

If the network hash should exceed 1,000 Gigahashes Per Second for a 24-hour period in the near future, a similar offer will be opened but at a higher price point. Also, another offer may be opened near the end of 1500 hour mark, to incentivize keeping the hash going, but a decision on this has not been made. A similar offer may open for other reasons not enumerated.

Ten years later, Catcoin is still going strong, and (April 9, 2024) just had a peak of 360 gigahashes, still with a wallet not updated since 2017.

The PID adjustment protocol is working well to cope with a sudden increase in hash.

For anyone curious, there are multiple "Catcoins" out there, but all of them I have seen came out way later. This is the original or oldest remaining Catcoin, having been released only a couple of weeks after Dogecoin in 2013.

To clarify in case the clarification that is publicly posted is not enough, there is no Team 3 within the official development team. It is an independent group. On the other hand, SlimePuppy does not have the jurisdiction over an independent group to declare that it does not exist, any more than Chairman Mao has the jurisdiction to declare that the value of Pi is 3.
