Anyone can file for a cheap LLC and stick their (or someone else's) face on their site and still run away with your money (See Karpeles, Mark)

This community trusts random exchanges coded by some teenager in a weekend over legitimate services provided by quality developers. I've been a professional developer building secure scalable systems for 13 years now. In case you didn't know, running an online wallet doesn't make any money unless you venture into fiat or run an exchange with it (like coinkite or moolah or coinbase).  I'm not here to make money and I'm not here to report any of this to the government so we don't have to pay taxes every time you transfer a damn bitcoin.

Take a look at the security page (https://mywl.lt/security/). Ask around the Digitalcoin community where this wallet has been used for over six months with no issues by pretty much everyone who holds DGC. Ask about the other services I've been running for almost a year (such as the first IRC wallet ever made) without a single security breach or even a complaint.

I'm not asking you to use my service, I'm just asking you to stop judging it and assuming that some other service is inherently better because they have some venture funding and some guy's face on their About page.

I just want to add coins that want to be added. If someone wants to snipe the win at the last minute, that's fine. Any BTC coming in just goes to paying off the server bills which are extremely high for the infrastructure we run, and our low transaction fees have only made a few dollars in 6 months so they're not exactly paying the bills.

MyWl.lt isn't here to make a profit, and the BTC voting was only added by request. It's not even promoted, and we never beg for donations. This isn't an exchange taking your money then allowing you to pump/dump on their site just so they can make even more in fees. We do this because we care about cryptos and want to provide a reliable service.

You realize competition and multiple services carrying your coin is a GOOD thing right?  Plus, MyWl.lt is 100% anonymous and will never be connected to fiat so you won't be losing your coins when the site is mysteriously locked down due to a legal dispute.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't necessarily see you as grouping me in with them, but felt the need to defend myself anyway because this is a common concern.

FYI, something we will be announcing officially in a few days: MyWl.lt has a payment API coming in May which will of course support any coins on the site.  This will allow for secure replacement of a daemon for things like dice games, or full payment processing for any commerce site. Only pre-approved sites can use the API, and it's built on years of experience developing secure financial APIs, so there won't be any funny business. This could be a big help to MINT if you get voted in.
