Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners

I have 2 identical miners and for some reason, ever since the latest update one of the two keeps running into Failed pool status using the same profit switching configuration with Mining Pool Hub. It seems to keep failing out Equihash and NeoScrypt pools. I have to right click go to details and then Reset failed pools...it will work for an hour or so before going back to the same status.

These rigs are on the same network and there has been no other changes so I'm not sure what else it could be outside of the update. Is there any troubleshooting steps I can try?

One of my miners keeps having ccminer crashes "cuda error in func unspecified launch failure". Hoping the new version included in 4.5 helps but it appears I cannot remotely upgrade the agents today and your website is also down.

Once a week or so one of my remote Nvidia Managed Profit Miner rigs locks up and requires a reboot. I only get notifications for the rig being offline maybe once out of every ten times it does this. Am I missing something in the configuration? All my email tests through Gmail work without issue. How do I troubleshoot something like this is there a log to review?

Here is my rules...just the default. Rig has been offline for 8 hours with no email received.

Example Offline detection email I've successfully received before:

CS - MP Miner 1: Offline detection
Awesome Miner

Miner offline
By default, a Notification action is configured for "Notify once until acknowledged". This will give a notification once your miner is offline, but unless you go to the Notifications tab and acknowledge this notification, you will not receive another notification of the same type for the same miner. Could this be the scenario?

Another troubleshooting idea would be to search the Awesome Miner log file for "Rule execute", where it will list for which miners a specific rule is executed. The log file can be found via the toolbar Tools -> Log File.

I didn't realize that is how it worked. Thank you. I have turned off the "Notify once until acknowledged". Will this mean I get an email notification every time my trigger time is reached?

Anyone know how long it takes for new ETH Wallet Imports to show up? The site says automatically but that obviously isn't true. I'm guessing it might be on a schedule like their API imports?

Does anyone here run Awesome Miner interface directly on their rigs? Are there any concerns with doing that? I would like to get it off my primary PC since I like to put it to sleep while at work but I also need the ability to access the interface remotely. I might just go with the cloud route eventually but for now just wondering if there are any potential issues running the interface along with the client.

Additionally, is there a process outlined for migrated Awesome Miner itself to another system while retaining all configuration/benchmarks? I saw the message on Export that stated it's not meant as a backup.

I bought premium edition awesome miner and very useful software, but I have a question.
I've a farm and 2 rig at home behind router. I read this link: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/remotenetworks.aspx , but not working (hamachi). I tryed some ways, but nothing.
Can everyone help me how to set my 2 rig which is outside minig farm's LAN and behind router?

The way I handled this personally was to use the configuration tool in the Awesome Miner client folder to change the port it runs on for each system and then set up port forwarding on my router/firewall. Not the most secure route but the easiest route indeed.

Is there a way to setup awesomeminer to exclude some coins from mining on pools with auto switch ? I have a rig with nvidia 1060 x3 and one 970 card, so 970 is kinda sucks with ETH and ETC mining, it gives only 7MH/s instead of 24MH/s but it's good with young ether forks. So now i have to completely disable ethereum algo from mining for this rig because if Ethereum is most profitable coin for now then my rig working on it only with 70MH/s instead of 90MH/s.

So how to disable 2 specific coins for that rig ?

You can disable entire algorithms (Ethhash for the two coins you mentioned). Right-click your rig, select Edit Profit Profile, uncheck Ethereum, click Ok.

I want them mining what is currently most profitable on MPH. Looking at the View Details > Profit Switching tab showed Eth (incld. Blake 2b) as most profitable when it was switched to it. 90% of the time they are doing Equihash / NeoScrypt / Skein from what I've seen over the last couple weeks. Ethereum surged in price recently though and took over during dips in the other algo coins which is why it became most profitable I assume?

Rigs are running 8x1070 GPUs and I'm not sure about your question about correctly benchmarking? It seems relatively straightforward. Tools > Benchmark > Precise benchmark with all Algorithm's selected. Is there something else I need to do?

That's odd.  What is your benched hashrate for Ethash vs. Equihash for those 1070s?  I just ran another benchmark for my 1070 rig and I have 21 Mh/s for Ethash, and 412 sols/s on Equihash.  Now, granted, I have my 1070 rig's power limit and underclock tuned for low-wattage Equihash, but there's no way those  numbers would make AM switch to Ethash.

Ethereum 31.55 Mh/s
Equihash 426 H/s

I'm having an issue using a Nvidia Device Profile to set the DCRI value to 40. I think I've done everything needed but it's not applying the value from what I see when dual mining with Claymore. Please let me know if I am missing something?

Device Profiles are really only if you are using SGminer.  So, you don't need it.  But in your profit profile, you can add the DCRI value in the command line parameters, or preferably, I would put it in the secondary pool's command line parameters, so that it only applies when you are mining dual coins with claymore.

By the way... it seems you have nvidia GPUs... they are not very good at dual mining with ethereum, or even that good at mining with ethereum at all.  There are much more profitable algorithms that nvidia do much better like equihash, neoscrypt, xevan, lyra2z, nist5 and more.

I should have clarified this is with Managed Profit Miners that have been fully benchmarked and had their profit profiles customized accordingly. AM has been switching to Eth/Sia dual mining multiple times on my 2 Nvidia rigs over the last couple of days from its standard Equihash/Neoscrypt/Skein algos based on the profitability bouncing. With a Managed Profit Miner where do I adjust the dcri value since Pools don't appear to apply to MP miners? I could add it to the Command Line params but as you said that would apply even when it switches to Ethereum solo mining which it has done a couple times as well.

Do you really want your nvidia cards mining Eth or dual mining Eth/Sia?  I can't see how that would ever be profitable compared to the dozens of other algorithms that nvidia cards are better at.  You might just want to disable those algos so they don't switch to it.  Are you sure you benchmarked your cards correctly?  What kind of rigs are you running?

Is there ways to set static IP to Antminer?

My preferred method for setting static IPs is always through my router instead of directly on devices. It can prevent weird issues with DHCP if you do it at the router level instead of trying to set static IPs directly on devices in a DHCP enabled network.

I just learned some thing new I knew you could a sign static IP at the router level but never thought it was better that way. do you use the Mac address, I may give it a shot ...

Yep, and a lot of newer routers can also provide the device name/ host name along with the MAC so you can easily differentiate without hunting the MACs down.

Same profit switching issue as well. I noticed under the View Details tab the profitable coin that it's not mining has disappeared yet under the same Profit Profile/Online Services the algo/coin that is most profitable still appears.

Re-adding and restarting seems to fix it temporarily but after a few minutes it disappears and switches to a less profitable option.

Hopefully this helps in debugging the issue.
I've identified some scenarios where the Profit Profiles didn't fully work as expected. Once v4.3 is made available, can you please try again?

I've noticed a few similar posts about the profit switcher as well. So once you are on version 4.3 and if you run into any issues again, please send me an e-mail with the following details:
1) A screenshot of the View Details dialog showing the Profit switching information
2) Information about which coin is being mined and if that is what was expected or not
3) Log files both for Awesome Miner and from the Remote Agent (if used)
4) The exact time when it happend

Version 4.3 will be relesed within the next 8 - 10 hours. Many thanks!

Upgraded my small test rig and noticed that it switched to Skein and dropped my profit from $6 per day with Equihash to $0.000016 with Skein. It appears that sgminer-5.6.1-nicehash-51-windows is being executed for Skein and for some reason that miner is trying to using the onboard Intel video instead of the 2 RX 5xx series AMD cards this small rig has.

According to profit details though Skein is more profitable than Equihash right now so the problem doesn't appear to be with Profit Switching but maybe the miner app or how the miner is being executed through AM?

Happy new year to all. Tried upgrading tonight to the new version, However says upgrading and after it restarts awesomeminer I am still on the old version with an update notification.
Tried downloading the msi and received a message saying that this is not a valid package for awesominer??

WD

I had this problem on one of my rigs. I had to find the Microsoft Uninstall entry in the registry for Awesome Miner and delete the entire registry key. Definitely backup your registry before trying it.

To backup launch regedit > File > Export > Export Range All > Name the file and click Save

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall > Expand and then click on the "keys" (folders) that start with something like "{03AC" and go through each one until you find the one with DisplayName of "Awesome Miner Remote Service". Delete the entire key folder. Mine was called {6582A3A0-070D-4F0D-8282-698E5F881FB4} but I believe those Key IDs are generated randomly. After I did that I could install the new version without issue.

Running into an issue with profit switching with MPH. It is randomly switching to Skein algorithm, which calculates to $3-4 per day, from other algos that are around $30-50 per day. I've currently got the profit switching set at 60 minutes / 5% profit difference.

Has anyone seen similar issues? Is this a problem with MPH or AwesomeMiner, maybe it's how I have profit switching configured? For now, I just turned off Skein in my profit switching profile until I can troubleshoot further. When it was switching to Skein at such a low profitability I would compare to WhatToMine and still see other coins that MPH supports at higher profitability so I'm at a loss why it would switch to Skein...

Having the same issue.

After disabling Skein completely, I had it happen with $13 Neoscrypt switched from $30 Equihash according to current to WTM. I know our benchmarks and the MPH profit stuff all feeds into the switching algorithm but it seems like something is clearly buggy? If I manually factor in my benchmarks and WTM and look at what MPH shows for the current coin of a specific algorithm it still doesn't add up to it only mining a $13 coin.
