Hi extro24

I can't withdraw my 1000 datacoin from datadice website.
Please help me...

There is a link you had to save when you deposited.  Are you able to go back to that link?

What is the official website?

datacoin.info or datacoininfo.org

Coinmarketcap links to datcoin.info, but this thread points datacoininfo.org, so I guess that is the correct one. It might be a bit confusing, and if you google "datacoin" you also end up on datacoin.info.

We have no control over datacoin.info so datacoininfo.org is the official site.

Somebody is mining directly to FreiExchange.  Please stop.  They will put a penalty on Datacoin and you may lose your coins.  First mine to your own wallet and then transfer to the exchange.

Yes

Apertus.io is written in C#.  Have you tried to run it with Mono for Linux, Mac and Android?

https://www.mono-project.com/

We have not.
But I love the idea!
I have tried with mono to run Apertus on Ubuntu 17.10, but no success Sad

I compiled mono (configure, make, make install etc) and it installed correctly under Lubuntu 17.10.  I did "mcs hello.cs" and got hello.exe.  Then "mono hello.exe" gave "Hello Mono World".
Now I need to start Apertus.  I see a ADD.csproj, ADD.sln, Main.cs etc.  "xbuild" seems to run.

Why is this coin not in any decent exhange? Only one (That I havent heard of earlier) and volume is super low.. how's that?

If you would give 10btc we could list at any exchange, but it didnt have any funding so it's like it is

That is the truth of the matter.  We are on BTCPOP (https://btcpop.co) and The FreiExchange (www.freiexchange.com).  We have been accepted on The Next Exchange (https://next.exchange) but we are waiting for the actual listing.

Must say I am getting more and more excited about Apertus.io and Datacoin.

I will just let my thoughts run.  Forgive me if my ideas are wild and wacky.  But maybe that is what is needed now.
In my mind, the digital identity leads to blockchain voting, the data storage leads to digital assets (including Bytestamp assets) and the chain-to-chain communication could lead to atomic swaps and atomic purchases (exchange?).

The websites on the blockchain leads to on-chain games and smart contracts.  A DNS system appears to be doable.  And the Twitter/Facebook/Snapchat lookalikes are already implemented.  All on chain.

I am in awe by the amount of work done and the implications.  When I use it my worries about "exchanges", "adoption" and "valuations" seem to fade away.    There is so much that is going to be done with these tools.

Badnews:
The chain does not advance.

I have a testnet node with 5 connections mining on testnet now with the v0.8.6.0 client so that the chain advances.
Its peers are all 0.15.99.8 clients.

Best Regards,
-Chicago

Fantastic.  So there is nothing wrong with the 0.15.99-08 client testnet?

GDPR

I wonder what effect the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will have on uncensorable cryptocurrencies like Datacoin.

And to make sure my amateur self understands this, https://github.com/datacoinproject/datacoin-core is the 0.15.99.08 version?
Yes, that is correct. The commit history is labelled "08", etc. The default checkout is the master branch and the block explorer addition is in the separate feature.blockexplorer branch

And this is where we go to submit bugs and such? (I just submitted https://github.com/datacoinproject/datacoin-core/issues/1)
Yes.

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graham

Can we just upload Verionum's compiled 08 Windows client as a "release" or does that involve some sort of process in git?

Cheers

There is much diplomacy evident in this group.

We will succeed where others have failed to reconcile their differences.

Such a lovely statement.

Over the past 24 hours 110000DTC was sold on FreiExchange for about $600.  So getting a large stake in Datacoin is quite easy at the moment.  And cheap, in any currency.
If you want to mine DTC, 2xGTX1080 graphics cards should give you about 1000DTC per day.  This is not too difficult to achieve.

I am sorry about the Bter/Gate.io wallet - it distorts the debate a little.  But that is an exchange - they all have large wallets.

I remember very clearly when last we had a similar discussion.  Shawn Wilkinson from Storj wanted us to sell him 600000DTC.  We didn't have that kind of money, so he went on to launch Storj on his own coin.
Nothing wrong with that - he took in $30 million and eventually ended up as an ICO on Ethereum.  People should do what makes them feel most comfortable.

But Datacoin is so cheap now, and the mining so easy, that I think people should pause a little and accumulate the amount of coins they feel comfortable with.

It may be easier than you think.
