Re: Are you still hodl? Then we go to you!

Do you still hold coins and wait for them to grow?
I trade every day and make a profit. I can make a few in one day. For a month, it turns out about 100%
Why sit and hodl coin?
I would honestly say that I  don't trade since it is not for me. I simply hold coins since I don't have time to do trading. Trading demands effort and time which I can't fully commit my self since I'm a busy person. It's preferable for me to buy from time to time as much as I can afford and then keep it in my secure wallet called Hodler. This open source wallet allows me to hold multiple coins at the same time, it's more convenient for me and feel more assured since I have the full control over my private keys.

Re: What the future HODL?
by

I think we will have to compromise some of our Freedoms for the common good and to see Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies flourish. Unless the whole system of world governance is overhauled, we can't really see the rise of Bitcoin and long term HODL, as well as the mass utility of it unless we have some regulation and intervention. We want mass adoption and many people hodling Bitcoin but that will come at a price. We want total freedom, then we need first to get rid of the poor governance we have and that will take a long time. For now, though the HODL still applies and it's a long term one for many I believe.
Agree with you, there a lot of things to change when wanting to make Bitcoin adapted by the majority. I believe that there is going to be a regulation and intervention for us to be able to see the price becoming stable. But this is not really the of crypto, it should give us the total freedom from any third trusted party. Still prefer to hold since I believe that with or without intervention, the future of Bitcoin is great and bright.

Re: I have learnt to cash out

With recent events in crypto currency trades since January 2019, I have learnt to cash out

Crypto currency long term hodl is very good and rewarding no doubts
But we are at a stage where crypto is formed by whales and the money controllers

With the persistent pump and dumps by the whales; crypto is like a game at the moment
It's the best time to hold and not to cash out, as much as possible, I prefer to buy as much as I can afford and as long as I can. The expected sudden pump will happen anytime soon. It's been too long since we've seen the price rise. There is no denying that it is disappointing to see price slowly changing, but it will surely be worth the wait.

Re: Fun stuff to do with bitcoin?
by

on 27/04/2019, 23:54:02 UTC
I remember the first years of bitcoin's life. There were so many things to do and learn: mining, faucets, wallets, blockchain visualizations, etc.

Nowadays the bitcoin world is pretty boring: mining is for people with deep pockets, faucets don't exist anymore, wallets are getting centralized by big corporations (blockchain.com, coinbase, etc.).

Is there anything fun left to do with bitcoin, any specific application, website, app, anything that will make bitcoin fun and interesting again? Otherwise I just keep on holding and that's it.

Just buy and Hold, that's simpliest and the wisest thing to do now. It's not boring since you could expect something in the near future, you might not realize how valuable your holding now but the future will surely make you realize that it's worth holding. Knowing that the community is ever growing and rich investors are intervening, there is no way the price will go to the moon. So while the price is affordable, just buy and hold.

Re: What do you think about Crypto now?
by
faceoff97
on 27/04/2019, 23:53:01 UTC
At the moment hodl is the only option and i am sure in Q3 and onward BTC and market will start rising. so hold for some months more as the bearish market is from long long ago.
I now though took a wait-and-see position, but I think that only the retention of coins should not be engaged, a small trade is profitable, the market has recently been predictable, you can earn and invest, increasing the number of coins
Instead of doing wait and see position, try to decide to buy and Hold. We are still on the early stage so it's better if you'll be accumulating more of its volume. As much as you can afford, buy coins and then transfer it to a secure and safe wallet for longer term of holding. You can choose to have multiple coins since there is a wallet that can safe store multiple coins. It is the Hodler secure wallet, it is the only fully open source wallet available.

Time will come that Bitcoin will the primary form of payment in the future. Knowing that the number of people community is ever growing, we could expect that it will be the one of primary form of payment. Even to this day, we could see that Bitcoin can be use as a form of payment seeing more and more institution is accepting it. But at this time, it's better to just hold that to spend it, price will eventually rise and the holding you have will have higher value.

Re: Bitcoin's value after being more recognized and accepted globally.
by

on 26/04/2019, 22:29:30 UTC
Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency in general are slowly been accepted and recognized by some financial institutions in some countries in the last few years. And there are well-known personalities that promotes the use of cryptocurrency around the globe.

But the questions is how come its value decreases after it has reached the highest in the last quarter of 2017. Was it being more accepted affected its value? What are your thoughts?

The sudden pump in value last 2017 might be just being manipulated by whales. There is no denying that Bitcoin could not be totally controlled by anyone but it could be manipulated for short term effect in price. The price is dependent on the supply and demand, that is why people who has large volume could even make large demand and then suddenly withdraw it causing sudden dump.

Smiley Market is day by going below in Altcoin. If i buy some Altcoin now for long time hold what type of coin can buy?
please give me suggestion of experts about trader.
I still prefer to hold all established coins than new coin that is coming. Coins that are well established has higher potential since those coin has already its own community trusting and backing up. Bitcoin, etherium and ripple are still a good choice, the potential is still high and there are still high demand in the market.

Re: I just dump my coins for other coins
by

This is probably my 5th time changing coins. At the moment I dump coins for dash , verge , and eos. I'm hoping for returns for the year. I am not looking for monthly returns anymore but yearly. I'm not bullish on dash or verge. But hopefully I get lucky.
I dump all my bitcoins and dump all my ether. Saying goodbye.
I also decided to dump all my coins for the more established coins. I believe that coins that has been around for older years has better potential they grow directly proportional with Bitcoin. It's still okay to diversify investment, but with coins that is more established and really good community backing it up. It's important to always consider how much a coin can reach based on it's history track.

Re: Bounty Vs Trading
by
faceoff97
on 25/04/2019, 23:42:48 UTC
2019 has been a year with mixed feelings for crypto enthusiasts. A lot of bounty hunters have now switched over to trading, because bounty is longer profitable.
Some that have combined the two (both bounty and trading), while larger percentage are still into bounty, despite not being profitable.
I envisage that in two to three years to this time, the population of people on bounty will reduce drastically, because it will no longer be profitable as it used to be.
There is no need to choose between the two, after all you can choose to have them both. I no longer joining bounty campaign since from 4 projects I joined, no one have paid me the right way or they pay but the coin has no value. I just choose to buy and hold as much as I can afford, in this way I could possibly gain good profit in  the future. Bounty is still good, but you need to have a lot of patience.

Re: Do we need blockchain technology?
by

on 25/04/2019, 23:31:43 UTC
If we do not need bitcoin, then what do you think bitcoin should run on? PayPal has a high transaction fee, as well as the others. Blockchain technology is fast and easy to use. I cannot imagine using other technology other than blockchain to run bitcoin with. Can you?
Agree. Blockchain have offered a different way of storing and transacting asset. The technology give us the full control over our funds and the need for third trusted party have been eliminated. This makes thing more simple and better, there in no one to intervene with you personal asset. It give us the freedom from any interest of anyone. This is why everyone should choose a wallet that provides the full control over the private key like Hodler wallet which is the fully open source multiwallet available. They also have hardware version of it for better holding experience.

Re: Are we not abusing decentralization?
by
faceoff97
on 25/04/2019, 23:29:43 UTC
Decentralization is one of the greatest dreams of Satoshi looking at the how the blockchain technology and its immutable distributed ledger has been designed. Well it saddens my heart that the greed of men has led to the abusing of this freedom and liberty that Satoshi wanted us to have in the financial industry. Look at the way people are being scammed and robbed in broad day light just because crypto is embedded in anonymity and decentralization. I think we've all had it to the peak, how about we have some level of regulation with the activities in the crypto industry. Share your thoughts commrades.

There is no denying that decentralization could be abuse due to no one has control over it. Illegal activity could be accomplished anytime and anywhere they want without anyone knowing. Bitcoin could be used in any form and sure just like the normal currency, it could also be used in abusive activities. This is why there should be some kind of regulation to balance the problem.

Re: Investment reality
by

on 24/04/2019, 23:06:49 UTC
80 % of people got involved in crypto from September-December and afterwards, they lost interest to invest watching their investments going down. Companies, corporations and politicians , let's say they filled their bags. And only after all of that we will see some positive regulation

But I firmly stand on my point that the only way for crypto to have a long life is the adoption and not just price speculation. And this will come from all of us. Start in little but whenever you got the chance to pay smth with cryptocurrency, just do it. Let's give real world value to the coins we hold.

Crypto will surely have a good future. Time will come where majority of the people hold their own kind of coin. We have seen how the adaption have improve from the last years and this would only mean that this system has really potential since the number of people engage are even more rising. There is no denying that real world is now noticing and having the interest on what crypto really is.

Re: new coins are worthless!
by
faceoff97
on 24/04/2019, 22:49:10 UTC
The crypto market exists both positively and negatively. Positive when the coins are coming to life with new technology applications that change our lives. But on the other hand, work out so many coins has the purpose of development as well as application technology. This mainly runs for its own profit purposes and makes the coins worthless in long-term investments.
I've seen projects that really has good technology and good project timeline but it still don't succeed since there is no enough community backing it up. The most important thing to consider for a coin is how much support it is getting regardless of how much good the technology is. I will prefer the simple project that has good community than a high technology project that has no enough support from people. This is why, it is always best to choose a project that is already well established since the community keeps growing already.

I've been trading new kind of coins and I just lost good amount of money. I also prefer well established coins than the newly introduced one.  I just buy bitcoin, etherium, xrp and the likes. This is more surer than new coins, the potential of this coins is really good knowing that it reach a high peak from the last years. The future is bright for the well established coins. I also like this coins since I can store them all in one wallet called Hodler which is the only full open source multiwallet.

Re: Are you ready to invest now?

Yes, I continue to invest and it seems to me that this is an extremely good thing. I see that today investing is a really successful business. You understand that investing today is a wonderful future tomorrow. My opinion on this will not change in any way.
Still the best time to invest with bitcoin. I've been buying bitcoin as much as I can afford and extra money from my work. The price is still affordable and we are seeing the price really growing tremendously this week. There are lot of possibilities for bitcoin, the potential is too high knowing that the price have reached a really high peak. Buy and hold for long term, this will surely be worth it.

Re: DO WE REALLY NEED MORE STABLE COINS?
by

on 23/04/2019, 23:43:46 UTC
Some friends of mine always lament  that 'we  need more stable coins in the cryptosphere' and I think that is highly achievable looking at the promising prospects that has been achieved by tether. It seems some upcoming projects are also promising to introduce stable coins. Is it possible to have more stable coins on the crypto market? What would really happen if we get more stable coins on the crypto market, would the volatility reduce?
I don't see the need since Bitcoin and other established coins are already available. It's better we could just promote this coin so it would reached it stability once it gain large community back up. This is why I just hold coins that is well established, I have them in my secure open source wallet called Hodler, they have listed stable and established coin in their wallet here is the link: Hodler.tech

Re: Coin cleansing

So binance have delisted BSV and hopefully others will follow soon. Should exchanges collaborate and delist all the other shitcoins?

Coin cleansing will help the crypto economy by focusing more on real projects, but it risks centralisation
Time will really come that a coin will eventually vanish specially those coins which people have no interest. Once a coin could no longer be found to be developing, it will surely get delisted. Even without delisting, coins with no demand is still useless even though it is in an exchange. It's really better to see fewer coin that really has potential than seeing many shits coin, but time will come that it will surely happen.

Alternative coins that are already well established are still considered a good one. They are still a good choice since it grows more in value than Bitcoin. Your asset may double it's price at an instant. Though this established alts are good choice it is still better to have Bitcoin since it is the primary asset in crypto, it is also the basis of where other coin price goes. Well, you can diversify investment to not miss any sudden pump.

Re: Bitcoin could be used to pay for Bills, load and for travel in the Philippines
by

on 21/04/2019, 21:22:40 UTC
can foreigners enjoy this fantastic opportunity of using this native bitcoin wallet of the Philippines?
In my country, Crypto can be used as form of payment to any of a product. It's just that, a third party is needed to make transaction possible. An online shop available in my country could accept Bitcoin as a form of payment, all kind of good is just one click away with the use of crypto wallet. But I prefer not to spend my coin but to hold it for longer period of time.
