Getting paid in BTC is cool, but you need to figure out a way to reduce Bitcoin votality.
I gotta agree. I know that some individuals from Bitcointalk are indeed being paid in BTC for their real life job. But I, myself would have second thoughts about this.
Because receiving bitcoin as a salary is only good when bitcoin price is relatively low -  every sudden price BTC spike could destroy this balance.

For that reason I would like to receive no more than 10%-20% of my wage in BTC.

Good point Slark, I believe that would be a good percentage to stay on the safe side.

A small amount so far .045 BTC with Cryptsy, unfortunately  Sad .  I wonder if it will ever be recoverable, not that it's much.

Re: Dwolla vs Bitcoin (Hey Dwolla, feeling the PAIN?)

I used Dwolla to send funds to Campbx back in the summer of 2013, a couple times, without any issues.  What options are there now to send funds to BTC exchanges, online?

It was Dwolla---->Campbx---->blockchain.info................any recommendations now?

Thanks

I use 2 factor authentication on my CampBX and have never had any problems with it. I set it up a few weeks though.

I can certainly see the benefit of using 2 factor authentication, the down side is if that device is not accessible to get the requested token, then that may pose a problem.  The extra security seems worth it, once it's set up properly.

There was a desktop version of Google Authenticator as an add-on for Google Chrome, but it seems it is no longer available.  It was called GAuth.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, currently, with not properly setting up 2-factor authentication with Google authenticator.  I'm currently locked out due to not syncing the QR code correctly with Google authentication, initially, on my cheap Kycocera Rise phone. Entering the code manually in Google authenticator ends up with an error that says code is too short.  I'll have to wait for Campbx help desk.

Don't bother GPU mining BTC. Use coinchoose and see what coins are most profitable (if any).

Thanks for the info, b!z link, I was unaware of coinchoose.

@bitcoininformation-I appreciate the comparisons between blockchain and Electrum

@peer2peer360-I personally have never used the blockchain.info mobile app, either on Android or Apple IOS.  I've stuck with my desktop and accessed blockchain.info via browser.  I do have 2-factor authentication active and connected to SMS now, since there seemed to be intermittent issues with sending the 2-factor email...at times I did get it, and at other times I never did.  So far, I'm back up, being able to to login to my wallet, with no further issues.

I wonder if the blockchain.info issue that was occurring with the android app has been resolved?

I also chose not to DL the entire blockchain and thus use an online wallet.

If you're worried about security, use dual authentication with your mobile phone instead of email. I assume it's a lot more difficult to hack a phone than an email account.

And yes, sometimes the service is temporarily unavailable. But so are 100% of your banking alternatives lol.

Thanks for the update, MrHempstock, I was considering changing the two-factor authentication method to my cell phone instead, it seems the method involving sending an email has been a bit unstable the last few days.

@bitcoininformation-I was unaware of Electrum, will check that one out as well.

The interesting issue that I'm having currently with Blockchain.info, is when I'm trying to access my online wallet, it attempts to send a two-factor authentication email to my AIM mail account, but it never arrives, only very intermittently, coming into the spam folder.  But for the most part, I never get that email to authenticate my log in.  I keep wondering if the issue is with the AIM mail servers or blockchain.info  I never had any issues prior to this.    Sad

*update*

Interesting to note that I finally did receive the email and was finaly able to log in using two-factor authentication.  I then decided to change my email address for future contact, and the verification email seems like it's being delayed, so the issue may be with blockchain.info.......just speculation.
