Re: Bitcoin - the future "stable coin"
by

from my point of view, bitcoin can never become a stable coin because if so, it will not be a profitable investment and people will not care about it anymore.

Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency?
by
fangbian

Bitcoin BTC can be a currency only if its price is stable.
I know what you mean but I don't agree with you. for me, bitcoin can become a currency when it is accepted by the government and it can bring benefits to users.

Re: How twitter affects the price of Bitcoin
by

on 19/11/2018, 08:51:51 UTC
Hello guys!

I am a researcher studying how messages in twitter affects the price, for my thesis. I am currently creating a library grading unique expresions and words that are used in cripto and trading environments.

I am looking for people that have trading experience and want to help me grade these words. It is only about 40 words and it wont take much of your time. In exhange for the great help I am offering the study once it is finished.

If someone is interested, contact me at jaime.badiolaramos@gmail.com

It can affect a lots to the price of Bitcoin. Negative and fake news can make the price go down without any reason.

I completely agree with you but I don't think that we can stop it. Comparing bitcoin and other cryptos are what make people feel comfort with their investment.

You must know that volatility is the special feature of cryptocurrency. It will soon green again, do not worry about it.

on 19/11/2018, 07:28:27 UTC
Hello all,

All in the title. I don't know a thing in trading or cryptocurrency... So I was wondering if I should get an advisor ?

Is there somewhere a list of advisors in crypto ? i know in my country there is an official list of advisor but not said if in crypto...

Thanks for the help
You will be the best advisor because if you learn by yourself and your mistakes, it would help you learn more than learn from other mistakes.  Learning from a little thing and step by step coming to bitcoin, that will be the best way to learn about crypto world.

if we want bitcoin still profitable, we must accept its volatility. I believe that if bitcoin is stable, there is no high profit anymore.

This is obviously wrong. The US dollar will quickly depreciate in the next 1-2 years. Americans should not be so selfish. Now it is a peaceful era. There is no need to control the global economy. It should be fairer and more free.
That’s just what I was thinking. To what I know, the US dollar will no longer dominate the world.

Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency
by
fangbian
on 17/11/2018, 08:28:33 UTC
Bitcoin was created to provide independence from Government control to the users.  But I think it is not so independent.

It depends on fiat currency especially the Dollar for it's valuation.

My question is ; we are measuring it's value in dollars.  So is not it true that Bitcoin is dependent on fiat currency for it's existence?

Please share whatever views you are having.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong.
Bitcoin is completely independent. It doesn't rely on anyone or anything.

Re: How did I lose money for Bitcoin?
by
fangbian
on 17/11/2018, 08:01:48 UTC
I started researching and investing in Bitcoin from February 2018, at that time 1 BTC was priced over 8k $, I bought 20BTC and then the price started rising. When looking at Bitcoin price charts in December 2017 I was very happy and thought I was lucky to invest properly! Then 2 months in March 2018, 1BTC was priced at over $ 11k, I was happy and decided to buy another 50BTC, I thought I would be a millionaire! But not! Then the price of BTC started to fall and I lost a lot of money! I was scared and did not understand why the price of BTC decreased! As well as buying BTC, I was fomo, invested a lot of money but did not understand what I was doing. Then I calm down and explore the market, and I realize that everything has its causes and rules! I started the trader and gradually recovered the lost money! I know a lot of people like me, invest their money without knowing what they are doing! I advise people to research thoroughly before bringing money to the market! And according to my personal opinion, the upcoming Bitcoin will drop to about $ 5k before rising again! invest your money wisely, it is your decision! good luck guys!
So sorry to hear that but I believe that this mistake already taught you invaluable lesson about bitcoin crypto world. Just make sure you will never make this mistake again. Hope you're doing well.

Re: Do you use cryptocurrencies in your daily life? Are they useful?
by
fangbian
on 17/11/2018, 04:07:40 UTC
This and other questions are part of a questionnaire that we, a research team from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) are doing. It seeks to understand the drivers' usage of cryptocurrencies by the end user such as you and me. Considering 10 different dimensions, from perceived usefulness to privacy to profitability, among others.
It takes on average 3 minutes to answer.

Here is the link for the questionnaire:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/cryptocurrencies_usage

More details if you want to know more about it:
For this, it was created a questionnaire with Likert type scale questions. These dimensions will then be used to construct a model, based on the traditional Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) developed in 1989, and some others developed afterwards, but with more adapted to the cryptocurrencies ecosystem. Then it will be done some data analysis and compilation of results.
This questionnaire has some focus on the financial area, but this does not mean it is the most important. We know there are some other dimensions not being addresses in this questionnaire, such as decentralisation/government influence, that may be addressed in the future.
After analysing and publishing the thesis and papers I will post on this forum with infographics and the most important conclusions of the study.

There are no open questions, but you can post here or message me about this.

Thank you for your time! Best Regards,
The University Institute of Lisbon research team

In my country, bitcoin is not accepted. i can not use it in my daily life. I am waiting for the bright future that the government will allow it.
