Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)
by

The new beta version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.7a from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Windows.zip (GitHub)
PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Linux.tar.gz (GitHub)

The new features in this release are:

  • Added lock core clock
  • The problem with the missing GPU temperatures on Nvidia GPUs is fixed
  • Added native kernels for AMD RX6700 GPUs. These are faster than the generic kernels and produce a lot less stale shares
  • Increase the max supported DAG epoch to 550 (should be enough to about Jan 2023)
  • Full support for setting clocks, fan speeds, voltages, and memory timings of AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards
  • The specific hashrate is now shown in the form of kilo hashes per joule (kH/J). Example: if a GPU has hashrate of 30 MH/s with 100W power usage, the specific hashrate is 300 kH/J
  • Added new command-line parameters -ttj and -ttmem, allowing automatic fan speed control based on GPU hotspot (junction), and memory temperatures respectively. Example: -ttmem 83 will keep the GPU memory temperature at or bellow 83C by increasing the fan speed as necessary. These parameters can be combined with -tt, as well as with each other. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added new command-line parameters -tmaxj and -tmaxmem, allowing to decrease the GPU usage when the GPU hotspot (junction), or GPU memory temperatures are above the specified thresholds. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers 20.50.x. Use this drivers only if you have Polaris or older GPUs, or the latest RX6x000 GPUs. WARNING: Vega, Radeon VII, and Navi GPUs won't work with these drivers!
  • Turn off the zero fan feature on AMD cards whenever a fixed fan speed is used (e.g. -tt -40), or when an auto fan with min fan speed is used (e.g. -tt 63 -minfan 35). To disable this feature, add -fanstop 1 command-line parameter
  • When -mcdag 1 is specified under Linux, the miner will not wait for the daggen.sh script to finish before starting to generate the DAGs. Instead it will for a fixed 7 seconds. This allows you to do all the following in the daggen.sh: turn off the overclocking of Nvidia GPUs, sleep for 30-60 seconds to allow time for DAG generation, and then re-apply the overclocking of the Nvidia GPUs
  • Other small improvements and fixes

The support for -ttj, -ttmem, -tmaxj, and -tmaxmem for Nvidia 3090 and 3080 GPUs is not yet ready for release. We hope to have it ready for the final 5.7 release.

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.msg56755869#msg56755869.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.7a.

Bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency in the world. It's being using by a lot of people and the number of user in increasing highly. The price of bitcoin is increasing. It's being using in many ways. So I think it's important to spread knowledge about bitcoin. But I don't support your spreading way. In this era, it's so easy to spread any knowledge through social media. We should use this way. Another way is arranging workshop on this. The more people use bitcoin, the price will rise and we will be profited.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. It is used by a lot of people. The user of bitcoin is increasing at a high rate. It's being using so widely. Now we can buy any service with bitcoin. We can get or give online payment through bitcoin. It's been used at too much way that it's seemed like it's a asset. But it's not a good thing. Because it will cause various problem. We should treat bitcoin just as a crypto coin, nothing more than it.

People around the world is getting the knowledge of bitcoin every day and join it. So every day the bitcoin community is getting bigger and bigger. And its popularity is enormous. In this way some other cryptocurrency has got attention too. Etherium an litecoin are like those. In my knowledge dogecoin can also have some attention in crypto world.

In my point of view, using more than one bitcoin wallet and changing the wallet address on a regular basis could be a good way of security. There are hundreds of wallets out there on the internet , waiting to secure our bitcoins, one can easily use some of them, and changing the wallet address from time to time is a great way of security

It will be really sad if bitcoins die. As a huge number of people are dependent on these. In my point of view, the developers should keep developing this thing which might be an asset to the world in the future, its our work to make them realize.

Re: why some country banned bitcoin?
by

I think the main reason behind some countries banning bitcoin is maybe they think BTC is not secured Properly and one of the main reason is Decentralized transaction. Maybe i said maybe they don't know that much about bitcoins, that's why they are banning them, or maybe they feel insecure to use them.

Re: Which coin can go to $100 next year?
by

For me, i think that maybe lite coin can reach 100$ price in the following year. It now provides around 55$ to 60$ in the present, which is quite great, so in the following year, if it increases in the same rate, it will be very easy for it to have a price of 100$.

Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ?
by

on 21/10/2017, 06:38:56 UTC
Bit coin is a crypto currency so the only way to destroy or make the value zero is complete shutdown of internet around the world. And I my opinion it is not possible. Another issue in this topic which can be discussed is some government are concern about the activity of bitcoin like china in few days ago, it had a great impact on the value of it, the price went down. But now it become more valuable than ever. Every currency price goes up-and down so does crypto currency. But it can not be zero.

Researcher say in every 4 years the amount of bitcoin produce in a year get half and after 2041 the production of bitcoin will be stopped. So then there will be only existing bitcoin, no new one. After that the price could reach the moon. It’s a complex idea. No one can predict that.

I prefer trezor and paper wallets. I don't think you craving merged trezors ... if the one you have breaks, you can reorganize your bitcoins to one more one. Just create certain you have a backup (24 words seeds) stored somewhere safely.

Re: Will bitcoin replace gold?
by
farhansadik
on 17/10/2017, 17:03:34 UTC
Gold is one of the oldest stores of worth. It has been traded for thousands of years. And bitcoin is one of the most expensive and traded cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrencies seem to have many advantages: they function outside of central banks and governments, give users control over their wealth, and provide a certain layer of anonymity. Bitcoin made the transnational trading too easy. But there is a problem. Some people says that "As it is an online currency, there are some doubt about it's security. So there are so much doubt that the bitcoin will take the place of gold."
