How did i miss this gem?

the team is easily the most qualified i've ever seen.

i wonder if the wp and text are too technically advanced for the average joe, tho? nothing a little tweaking can't fix.

what is this alpha people are talking about? didn't see it in the wp.

nice situation, you might have some btc on there. Unfortunately, unless they left the private keys unencrypted, it's pretty much going to be impossible to recover.

You could, of course, ask the owner if the btc is still on there. It does belong to him, right?

wow, I didn't expect web wallets to be the number one choice, but I guess it's easy and people don't think about security until they get hacked and burned.

Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.?
by

I think most people these days are "ad-blind"; they mute ads, skip them on their DVRs, block ads in their browsers.

I guess you might reach some people, but it seems like a total waste of money.

Better would be to spend that money to increase the number of places you can spend btc; even better would be places that only accept btc.

You can pay for some travel-related expenses on Expedia.  Airfare is somewhat security related so I'm guessing it will take longer until you can easily get a ticket with btc.

Funny story if true, but sadly, yes, it's worth almost 2x more than your original post now.

That being said, if that's the most you ever plan on making in your life, then you need higher goals. It's never too late until you dead.

Hmm, kind of hard to understand this one.

Also, $1 million would not knock out uber, they burn through a billion dollars a year. More like a gnat on Uber. Maybe if you had like $50 million you might have a start.

Interesting, but i guess a big corporation like uber doesn't have the guts to accept crypto for the actual fares yet.

Here's some advice:  Picking up and recycling a day's worth of aluminum cans that you find around town can buy you more doge than you could earn in 3 months of doing those shitty faucets.   But hey, you've probably got no skills so knock yourself out.

Haha love the cans imagery, OP, your time must be worth something.

Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift?
by

Another nice thing about giving btc versus giving a toaster or set of plates is that you are guiding the new couple to a thing that can actually help them in their financial future.

By giving them btc, they will need to learn about btc to spend/save it, and you know what they say about teaching someone to fish.

No. it will be too expensive present

Uh, can't you give them a fraction of a coin?  0.001 coin or something?  I really don't understand this mentality.  It's not like buying something from a store is free, either.

I mean if you need to buy someone a gift, why buy some garbage from Amazon or Walmart when you can buy them a fraction of a bitcoin for the same price and support the btc community?

NASDAQ market cap is not that related to a currency, but ok.

That's like comparing the number of Euros in circulation to the value of all public companies in Europe.

But I agree there is still room to grow.

at 50k, btc will have a market cap in the hundreds of billions. That's a pretty big leap (USD is in trillions), but I guess it is possible eventually.

I think I heard about it in the news, and then watching some documentary about MtGox blowing up.

Watching it in the news is hilarious, kind of like the "what is Internet?" news clip.

Re: Hardware Wallet for altcoins?
by

If you're HODL for 5-10 years, I would definitely do paper.

Electronics have a lifespan, and you don't want to find out when your hardware wallet is about to die. I would only use a hardware wallet if I needed to get access easily on the road, not for 5-10 year holds.
