Re: How has Bitcoin changed your life for the better? (Those who bought <2017)
by

I was able to withdraw some of my bitcoins into dollars when it doubled from the price I spent on it. And with that money, I bought a simple car. But I think this is a good success for myself.

Re: Bitcoin is now consuming 1% of the world's electricity. Is that sustainable?

Bitcoin consumes a lot of energy for mining, you can not argue with that. But if you are really worried about this, then you should be reassured by the idea that bitcoin mining is not infinite, so sooner or later it will stop.

Re: Financial Writers Predict Fiat Dollar Will Collapse and Rise Crypto
by

I think that such an outcome is quite likely, but for the full replacement of the dollar with bitcoin, it should take a lot of time and change several generations to a more technologically advanced one. However, this prospect is quite real.

I think the dollar and other national currencies are still more relevant for criminals. And even though bitcoin is untraceable, criminals still won't use it instead of dollars.

Perhaps your words have some truth, but practice shows that the price is always restored and those who managed to buy bitcoin at a low price, then turned out to be in the black and get their deserved profit. So I will believe in the best and buy coins at an affordable price.

Re: Make Bitcoin Great Again

Due to the fact that the cryptocurrency market, so many alarmists, who are deathly afraid of the fall in the price of bitcoin, so quickly spread the negative news about it. This can be called a serious problem for bitcoin and it can be solved only if all investors will at least minimally understand what bitcoin is, how it works and what its features are.

It is difficult to say whether it is a lot or a little - 10 years for the development of such technology. I think that bitcoin has already achieved a good success: almost the whole world knows about it and now many people are doing everything to use bitcoin in everyday life. I hope that this will be implemented very soon and we will be able to fully use bitcoin, as it is convenient for us.

Re: Need bitcoin control?
by

on 09/12/2018, 21:14:45 UTC
I do not understand why every state should create its own cryptocurrency. After all, then it will be controlled by this very state, and the essence of the crypto currency is completely different - it is full independence from the state system and control. That's why I'm in favor of bitcoin remaining an Autonomous technology.

I don't see the Bank and bitcoin as rivals. If the state does accept cryptocurrency, bitcoin will be a great addition to the banking system and will greatly simplify and protect it.

I have heard several cases of hacking and theft of bitcoins, but they all occurred through the fault of the owner, unfortunately. Therefore, I do not advise anyone to neglect the safety of their own investments and choose only proven wallets.

Altcoins now really appears just a huge amount. But are they all promising? Of course not. Among these projects, only a few are worthy of our attention.

Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency
by
fattyforhire
on 23/09/2018, 12:03:12 UTC
It is not necessary to use Fiat to work with bitcoin, but we have no other choice if we want to sell a coin, for example, or understand how much the cryptocurrency costs at the moment. But all this is temporary, and if bitcoin continues to develop actively, the need for Fiat will disappear.

Of course, I would like that to happen. But I do not think that bitcoin can really be a full replacement for banks. And banks have many other functions that are not yet under the power of bitcoin.

This is not a bad statistics, but if you take the total number of people around the world who have heard about bitcoin, then this is certainly a very low figure. I want as many people as possible to know about this technology and accept it.

Of course you're right, bitcoin was conceived as a currency in the first place. But why not take advantage of it now as an investment? This is much more relevant now. We need to support bitcoin at least with our investments, and over time it is already naturally implemented as a currency.

It is difficult for me to imagine that something better than bitcoin can be created. I chose it from the start as soon as I learned about investing in cryptocurrency. And that was 2 years ago. And until now, I had no idea to change it to something else. And every day my confidence in him grows more and more, despite the fall.

After all, these price fluctuations do raise doubts about the reliability of bitcoin, but if you study it better, it becomes clear that volatility is a natural feature for this technology. Therefore, there is no reason to panic.

I understand your doubt, but I know a few examples when poor people bought bitcoin for themselves, and not even one. My friend works as a bartender, and in six months he was able to save money for 1.2 bitcoins. Therefore, nothing is impossible.

So, one day, I almost panicked, because the person who seemed convincing to me was talking about the end of the bitcoin, and it's better to sell it before it's too late. It's good that my experienced investor friend opened my eyes that this is a lie. Therefore, always be careful when choosing information sources.
