So, know all that like to sell will hate me ... nevermind *gg*

Yeah, fair enough, all my free S1 coupons have been snapped up, my 17 S2 coupons expire on 05-30 so they can go free too, I suspect there's not much demand, even for free.

All my batch 1 miner screens look like they are off, they progressively got darker and darker as the days ticked over. My batch 2 miners are as bright today as they were on day 1. I think I'm being overly optimistic that this pot will affect the Batch 1s. But here's hoping, Thanks!

I could not resurrect my dead PSU and emailed Bitmain, a day later a replacement PSU is on its way with tracking numbers etc. I am returning the dead PSU at their expense too, I had kind of expected to pay for that myself so that was a nice surprise.

Come back from easter break to find one machine completely unresponsive. I've isolated the PSU, given it an hour or so with no power, checked the paper clip short, still no luck. I seem to remember someone saying to drain the PSU you short the two power pins out, still nothing.

I have a Corsair CX750M and a FSP 750 Gold, can I just plug these into the PCI-e power sockets and combine them or does it just not work that way?

Another machine was running at 50% hashing with lots of x hardware errors but a shutdown has that back up and running stable.

Hi,

Is anyone having issues accessing S2 units through a VPN?

I have two installations behind two different VPNs and cannot access any S2. Other machines behind the VPN are accessible and the machines are accessible when I am directly connected to the network. These are batch 1 and batch 2 machines.

Cheers

I have NO issues accessing my batch 2's thru the VPN.

Thanks, now I know it's something I can try to rectify, appreciate it.

Cheers

The batch 2 unit I was having trouble with has run all night without one blade.

Weighing up the options here, RMA PSU will cost way too much mining time, replace PSU by buying one locally will cost more than the one blade will actually mine, suck it down seems to be an attractive option. It's a minor problem compared to other stories being reported here, 6 S2 units in total, one blade unusable.

After about 10 mins the whole unit powered off and has been unresponsive ever since.

I've unplugged all outputs from the PSU and it's still not coming back up, so it looks to be the PSU.

Any ideas on what to try to resurrect? I have multiple CX750M PSU's but nothing big enough to replace the 1000W Enermax.

Cheers

I followed some advice earlier in the thread and removed one blade, it's now been mining for a couple of hours so far.

These batch 2 units are a lot quieter than batch 1, with larger effective fan diameters and case holes, they also seem subjectively cooler.

I've got four Batch 1 units running, uptime is steady and problems have been minimal so far,

I'm just unpacking two Batch 2 units, the first one started up, network cable internally needed reseating and one card was slightly out of its guides.

It started hashing to my pool when I changed the settings and I thought all was good.

After about 10 mins the whole unit powered off and has been unresponsive ever since.

UPS just delivered three S2 units instead of the expected two, my mind was working overtime thinking that I had lucked out but noticed the address on the third unit was not me :-( just caught the guy as he was leaving, returned the third unit. Would have been nice.

4xS2 Units arrived today.

Two of the four boxes very worse for wear. One box was wet across the end as if it had been sitting in water.

Each machine had a few boards out of the rails. One had it's internal network cable unplugged. Another one had the screen unplugged. One power supply had been badly installed and two of the screws had stripped. the PSU wis sitting at a bit of an angle.

Only received rack mounts for 3 of them.

Reseated all the cards and they all ran fine. No sign of any water getting through the bubblewrap.

One board out of all 40 is showing a zero temp reading but is hashing away regardless.

Unexpected Bonus: They came with Australian plugs!

Does the S2 have wifi?

I received an email direct from Bitmain indicating that the S2 does not have WiFi.

I need some help just getting access to the antminer s1 through my browser. i changed all my ip config and everything, but still can access it. I turn it on, has the red light on and the green light flashing, and when i connect a lan cable the green and orange lights flash on the lan port but nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Can you ping the IP address you expect the miner to be assigned, i.e. ping 192.168.1.99 (or whatever you are expecting)

If you get a result with ping can you aim your browser at that IP address http://192.168.1.99

If you cannot ping it can you see it in your router table (through your router web admin usually) at an unexpected IP address? Antminers sometimes show up in router client lists as raw MAC addresses like this: 01:23:45:67:89:ab , if you see an address like this in the table try logging into it's corresponding IP address to see if it is your antminer.

If you cannot access your router table then maybe you need to use an IP scanner to see if it on your network at all, AngryIP is an example.
http://angryip.org/

If you still cannot find it then it is not being added to your network at all but that's unlikely because you are getting the orange and green lights indicating a connection.

Let us know how you get on.

Are you able to login to the antminer thru it's IP?
Did you try connecting to the router directly?

Sorry, should have been specific.

The IP is not showing up in my router table, I cannot ping it and the hub light shows there is nothing connected on that cable. The green light for the ethernet is lit, but the orange light is unlit.

Update:
Amazingly enough, it's been dormant for an hour with numerous resets and reboots preceding that, I just cycled it and it's started up. Bizarre.
Thanks

Hi,

Having trouble getting one of my ants up and running. It's been running non-stop for over a month but today had to be powered off for a switchboard upgrade.

It powers back on but sits there with the lights on the controller board, one red constant, one green flashing around a second on/off. All the other ants on the same power circuit came back on no problem.

The network cable light is on green but the amber side is off. The lan light at the hub is off.

I've tried a known working network cable and hub port. I've also tried the reset button which does not seem to have any visible effect (is there a definitive duration for the button push to reset?).

Any advice on what to try next before looking at an RMA?

Cheers
