best DCA strategy
by
fedemining
on 09/11/2020, 09:53:25 UTC
i was wondering what would be the best dollar cost averaging on btc based on historical data.
my first thought is to increase and decrease by a percentage regards if price is relative to a significant moving average.
for example if i want to average 100 usd per month. i could spread those 100 usd over 30 days = 33 usd per day.
now i can increase by a percentage when price is under the 50 SMA and decrease by a percentage when price is over the 50 SMA.
what i've found is that this will led to poor performance due to trend following reasons. when btc is over the 50SMA is probably a bull market and you should buy more not less.

what is in your opinion the best DCA strategy based on historical data?

most of the graphic work only consist in moving around elements and changing the order of these in the spreadsheet. thats kind of limitating but very fast and efficient. actually the hardest work was to make the script that create the "importJSON" function in the spreadsheet.
i wish me or someone will add some graphs importing CMC historical data or from elsewhere.
i've made the logo with adobe and just that..
yes actually 5 6h of work. not more.
if someone wants to play with it will be cool! there's also a chat module inside so anyone can type a message.

22M btc transacted today

⭐ Merited by DdmrDdmr (2) ,kryptqnick (1) ,LFC_Bitcoin (1)
https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/
if you go on "bitcoin sent last 24h" you will notice that almost 22 million btc have been moved in the last 24h! this does not mean that any btc have been created since the same btc can be moved back and forward several times .
anyway i think that this is unusual as shown in the chart.
if anyone could make a little pyton script to check if there is something abnormal going on in the blockchain would be cool!
any thoughts?

this guy had 30 BTC stolen from his cold storage! he says he had his private key saved into his email draft with the seed written in casual order!
there should be 24!=6.204484e+23 possible combinations for those words!
how likely is that the hacker succeed in put the words in the correct order and steal the funds?

some basic questions for full node setup
by
fedemining
on 20/12/2018, 16:26:19 UTC
its been a while since i started syincing my btc full node.
according to many online forums and Jamson Loop tweets it should take a couple days for a full node to fully sync. with my cnfiguration its been two weeks
 24/7  and i'm still 3 weeks behind.
i put my Dbcache to 2000mb and my internet connection its over 15mb/s so why its so slow? what else can i do? i'm worried that the problem its my low speed hard disk that is a normal 1TB maxtor not an ssd. but i'm not sure of it!

second question: since i'm syincing my blockchain on a windows device what will i have to do to migrate it on a linux OS?
i guess that i will have to move that "blockchain" folder in the /home/.bitcoin/bitcoin folder can you confirm?

third question: i will have to prune the blockchain so my plan its to prune it and then migrate it on a linux OS. my plan its this:
1 turn off the node
2 migrate the pruned chain on the right folder of the new hardware
3 open the config file and set prune= my actual setup plus migrate the wallet.dat file
4 run bitcoind.
can you confirm my plan?
LOL

i will have some more question but since i don't want bother anyone for now its fine like this!
thanks for anyone who'll help

When contacting this guy on Telegram, be sure to keep one thing in mind at all times: use a forum escrow for this transaction.

Here is a list of trusted escrows:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910

Never send coins upfront, not even incrementally. If the seller suggests to lower the price if escrow is dispensed with, stop and refuse. Scammers often use price incentives or discounts to tempt their victims to send first. It's a scam.

Use escrow only and be sure to contact the escrow directly. Beware of spoofed emails and websites sent by scammers or screen shots and cut & paste instructions from the escrow. Always contact the escrow directly. Wait for the escrow's response. Don't be pressured to send coins or money first.

As for the seller, if the offer is genuine, follow the same advice above. Use a forum escrow. Never send the miner without first confirming that the escrow has the buyer's bitcoins in his control.

thanks for sharing that but i'm not here to scam anyone. lol
