As a user of LocalBitcoins, I always felt that offline trading was not the core of the platform. The search for location is not very intuitive, and I think some improvements could be made in terms of use ability.
In addition, LocalBitcoins collects quite some information about the user (e.g.: email, phone number, ID document, real name). This information is verified and stored on their servers. I think they need to do this to comply with laws for online trading, but these don't apply when you are trading outside the platform.

To summarize, these would be the competitive advantages of FindMeACoin:

• Specialize on offline trading, simplifying the platform.
• Improve the user experience, by taking more advantage of location technologies and using gamification.
• Do not ask for information from the users. Rely on crowdsourced trust, instead of identity verification.
• No central arbitrator. Fees are collected directly from the blockchain through smart contracts.
• Lower fees.

FindMeACoin is a platform for finding buyers/sellers of crypto currencies in a certain geographic location. Registered users can find other users on a map, and get in touch with them to arrange a meeting.

The collected information about the users is kept at the bare minimum.
The platform uses a gamification approach, with the use of avatars, associated to reputation. It aims to be kept simple and user friendly.

FindMeACoin é uma plataforma para procurar vendedores/compradores de cripto moedas, numa determinada localização geográfica. Os utilizadores registados podem procurar outros utilizadores no mapa, e entrar em contacto com eles para combinar um encontro.

A informação recolhida sobre os utilizadores é reduzida ao mínimo essencial.
A plataforma usa uma abordagem de gamification, com recurso a avatars, associados a reputação. A ideia e manter-la simples e amigável.
