All exchanges face such problems and it's okay. The main thing is to keep users informed about these situations. I liked how quickly EXMO responded to the attack and immediately tweeted about it. The platform's openness to the users is very important to me.

I understand you perfectly. I've sold all my Bitcoins since 2017... I try not to push myself because then I've made good money. Now I HODL again, but I won't make that same mistake again)
Wow, another achievement unlocked which indicates that BTC hits another ATH today. $50000 is a huge now and it is already visible and breaks all the previous history. The great day is my cryptocurrency life which will be remembered and the thread will work as a reminder.
Are we going to see another ATH soon or the day will be remembered?
Yes, I'm sure we'll see a new all-time high very soon. According to forecasts, this year Bitcoin should grow to 100k. So we'll remember this day but as the beginning of something very great.
How long will the exchange be unavailable??? Any information on how long it will last?? It is very important!!

I'm not surprised at all that Uber has introduced a new Bitcoin payment method. This's the age of new technologies and someone has to introduce such things at last. How long will we still pay in cash? We need to look to the future and try new features!!!

Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin?
As I was completing a survey about an hour ago, there was some mention about the distinction between Bitcoin spelt with capital B, and bitcoin with a lowercase b. Although I have heard about this before, and I usually pay a lot of attention to spelling and punctuation, I have to admit that I have totally forgotten about this.
When we talk about Bitcoin as a blockchain, payment method, or a service, we are supposed to spell the word with an uppercase B.
Here is an example: My best friend doesn't see the advantages of Bitcoin.
When we talk about the currency or mention numbers and quantitates of the asset, the word should be spelt with a lowercase b.
Here is an example: I sent my best friend 1 bitcoin as a birthday gift.
Do you pay attention to this while you are posting on the forum?
Woah, I didn't pay attention to this before and always wrote with a small letter. Thank you so much for this information! It was really helpful! Now I'll pay attention to such things.
I have some troubles with verification. I've passed the first verification stage and want to use bank transfers, so I need to go through verification of address and confirm my current address of residence. I'm a student, live with my friends in a rented apartment and I don't know what documents must be provided in order to get access to bank transfers. I'll be grateful for the help.

Honestly, I don't understand why a lot of people sell bitcoins now? This year should be important for bitcoin because the price is predicted to be super high. Is it not better to hold bitcoin and sell it at a high price? Maybe I'm wrong and you can convince me otherwise.

I think this is just a moment now when it seems that nothing will work. Me neither at first thought that all this had no meaning and I wasted my money nowhere. But the main thing here is to be patient. Nothing happens right away. Wait a bit and you'll start making a profit.

Re: He said Bitcoin is a Scam: See What happened to Him
Cryptocurrency industry is an industry like other industries that need caution from the players. It was yesterday, one of the members of a WhatsApp group i belong made series of comment, and in all his posts he said Bitcoin is a ponzi Schem, people doing btc are thieves.
Well, as a crypto expert (to an extent) i knew what has happened to him and i needed to educate him on what he should know about bitcon. I asked him what was his basis for this kind of derogatory comments, he said i should never mind, i later gathered that he gave his money to another person to invest in crypto and the person screwed him.
I tried to explain and educate him with the following;
1. How to invest in bitcoin. 2. the importance of trading or investing yourself. 3. why Holding and Timing are very important. 4. why it is scary to entrust your cash into someone. 5. Why knowledge is one of the most important tool you need in this industry.
He later admitted that he made a mistake.
If you were in my shoe, what would you've told a person that says bitcoin is a ponzi scheme created to scam people?
Well done! I believe that more and more boomers need to be introduced to new trends and technologies. Then they'll finally understand that the world doesn't stand still, and new things appear every day. We must convey to them that if this is new, it doesn't mean that they should be afraid of it.

Ahahaha pornhub did the right thing by introducing the ability to pay with Bitcoin. It's such a great honey trap!
Bur seriously, it's a really cool idea. Companies don't stand still and trying to introduce new cool features that will attract new customers. Amazing! I'm already waiting for when I can pay with Bitcoin in a taxi and buy eggs and bread in the store.

Re: When to take profit from your current bitcoin holding.
The price of bitcoin started rising from 15k to 20k,from 20k to 25k, I thought it has reached the last increase this season.
The following day I saw a bullish movement again, I saw movement from 25k too 30k. I thought it will be too risky to buy when it was at 30k, but it kept rising until it was 32k. I bought some Satoshi at that price level.
Few days later it rose to 33k and started a bearish movement to 31k, I was already loosing my hard earned cash. I hastily converted it to etherum because it was performing better.
I later discovered that I made a very big mistake by cashing out at a loss, I would have waited a little. A week later, Bitcoin rose to 40k plus.
I want you to comment on this scenario, when should one cash out, as the volitality of the market is very scary.
What's your advice? Is it keep holding? What if keep holding means holding at a loss?
Don't be so afraid of the dumps and pumps in the price of bitcoin. It's a normal thing! The price can never stand still, it's volatile. Just keep holding. Now it's just such a period when everyone rushed to sell their bitcoins, so the price dropped. Wait a little more, the price will rise again and then you can sell bitcoins.
I bought Bitcoin a few days ago for12 thousand dollars. At that time the price of one bitcoin was 28 thousand dollars. At present, the price of Bitcoin is 37 thousand dollars. Which is really good news for me. I made a post after buying bitcoin to see if I made a mistake in buying bitcoin. I was convinced that I had done nothing wrong and that it was now clear. Below is a link to my previous post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5305436.msg55985225#msg55985225
Woah, congratulations, dude! You're a real lucky one! You did the right thing. This is how you do it: think, make sure that you are doing the right thing, invest.

Re: Own only a small amount of bitcoin? Regardless, DON'T LOSE THEM.
A safe assumption would be that both people had their bitcoin for a good number of years already, and they totally underestimated the price rise bitcoin would have. Hence why they got immensely careless about the security of their funds, probably because back then "it's just worth a few hundred dollars anyway".
So what's the lesson here?
Regardless how much your bitcoin is worth today, make sure you don't lose them because we don't know how high bitcoin can go in the future. Your 0.01 BTC holdings might just be worth like $350 today, but who knows, while there are definitely no guarantees, it could buy you your future house sooner or later.
I've been through a good number of bull markets already, and every single time I've absolutely underestimated how high bitcoin could go. Just a quick reminder to those who are totally underestimating the small amount of BTC they hold.
I think the same way. If you invest in bitcoin now, then in a few years you'll understand why it was the best decision in your life. So many people write on the forums about their regrets not buying bitcoin a few years ago because now they could be swimming in money.

Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC?
by
finn.cole
on 18/01/2021, 00:38:46 UTC
Ohh I was almost hacked... But I reacted in time. Luckily it ended well, but after that incident, safety became the most important thing to me.
- Too complicated for masses - No 100% reliable back-up protection if private keys are lost or stolen - No charge-back option (this is both pro and con) - Not enough big merchants
I agree with you. But I'm sure that these problems will be solved soon, except for one. The biggest problem is that a lot of people simply don't know about cryptocurrency or they don't understand how it works. And there's also a type who refuses to invest their money in any crypto-exchange because they're afraid of losing money. To be honest, I don't think this problem will be solved in the coming years because old school people are used to living the way they live now and don't want to learn any new things.
What are your ideas on how to solve this problem?
Talk more about cryptocurrency Explain its meaning Explain how it works Show the pros and cons Explain that crypto is our future and why it's so important to invest in it right now

Re: Bitcoin hitting $100k this year is no longer unrealistic
The price of bitcoin has now dropped to 33k, but I'm absolutely sure that by the summer, or at least by the end of 2021, bitcoin will grow to 100k. I follow the forecasts and they're very exciting. This year gonna be great!
Hello after 12 years i remember i bought bitcoin in 2010 is it possible to sell more than 50,000 bitcoins at once or is it better to sell direct to a private individual like grayscale or microstrategy?
Oh whoa, congratulation, dude!
I wouldn't recommend selling all bitcoins at once because then it'll lead to a drop in the price of bitcoin. It's better to sell in small parts. I think that the price of bitcoin will rise again soon, so selling coins in parts is a more logical solution.
I had love bitcoin ever since when it was being introduced to me by a colleague. I easily understand all the basic in cryptocurrency and that made me get excited even at first planning to invest with bitcoin. Yes, I did gets too much excited and invested in it on some of my earnings specifically from the real estate commission I made during the time when I was a part time real estate agent.
To cut the story short, I was seeing bitcoin as a way to learn more about financial freedom and financial literacy. Bitcoin for me was the perfect medium to achieve my goals on financial freedom. I have been dreaming like anyone else here that are not working but are earning through bitcoin investment.
However, all failed and I did not achieve or reach my goals. I end up into miserable decision making and are afraid because I stake my earnings that when the time bitcoin was crashing I end up selling it minding that bitcoin will going to end. It was like buying high selling low and that made me miserable right now. Why? It is clear that if I only hold bitcoin I can earn 7x of my money being invested. I can even build my dream house in the profit that I could get.
Now, it is a hard lesson to learn. I regret and hopefully there will be another day that bitcoin will be like this in the future.
For those who manage to earn huge. Congratulations guys! You did a great job.
BTW, could you make an advise to me on what to do right now? I'm a little bit depressed.
Sana all merong bitcoin ngayon!
My advice is to try again. If you have the opportunity, then buy bitcoin and try to hold it again. If you believe the forecasts, then by the end of the year you should earn a very decent amount. And I also advise you to stop regretting what has already happened. You'll never get that time back, but whatever happens, happens for the best! Wish you good luck!
Bitcoin was invented by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 and released as open-source software in early 2009. It was gradually recognized by many until it reached a peak of $19,783 per bitcoin in late-2017.
From the beginning of bitcoin history I know that many people become rich instantly when they hold their bitcoins and sold at the highest price last 2017. After the price of bitcoin fluctuated and dropped where many investors got scared and started to panic to sell their bitcoin even if they went bankrupt. But we cannot hide that bitcoin has changed many lives.
On the other hand, after bitcoin dump many are still investing, especially as the price of bitcoin gradually rises again. And due to the continuous development of bitcoin it has become more and more popular and attractive to investors especially to the rich and big companies.
Now bitcoin is preparing to reach another ATH. Are you still there and holding your bitcoins? What happened to your life after 10 years in bitcoin? Is there any changes?
Yes, I'll continue to hodl bitcoins. According to forecasts, its price should reach 100k by the summer. So I bought bitcoin while its price was 20k and bought it when its price dropped to 31k. I have high hopes for bitcoin and I really hope that it won't let me down!
